14/05/2025: We dined here in May 2023 at the recommendation of the hotel clerk when we asked him we just want a hole-in-the-wall, good food restaurant. The clerk and his family dine here, so enough said. He also warned us not to expect any smiles or friendly greeting. in fact, he said it's going to look like they're all angry at having to work while the world is walking by their restaurant. No tables were available as they don't take reservations. They provided a seating arrangement for us, which was near the bathroom and across the tiny path from where they brew their coffees, have their salt/pepper packets (yes, that's right. packets. No bottles, this includes olive oil). My wife and I love these experiences because they are raw and unpretentious. If we wanted fine dining, we would have chosen that, but this was old-school dining with Grandma literally in the back cooking and yelling at the staff. INCREDIBLE food. We walked out paying $40 for our best meal of the week, and that included 2 glasses of wine. We laughed the entire time, and I promise you non a single staff member ever cracked a smile. This was like the "soup nazi" place on Seinfeld. In our 2024 trip, we couldn't coordinate our availability with the restaurant hours, and honestly, we were very dissapointed we couldn't return. We just booked our 2025 trip and have this place on our radar. That's how unique, basic, and delicious this place is. Paper napkins, salt and pepper packets, oil and vinegar in tear-off packets, no friendly staff, Nonna in the back with a stained and soiled apron, yet AMAZING food in the heart of Trastever District!!

11/05/2025: Siamo stati in questa osteria a conduzione familiare,aiutati nella scelta da un gruppo Facebook nel quale aveva delle ottime recensioni,e così è stato. Ragazzi molto simpatici cibo casereccio romano ,rapporto qualità prezzo buono ,noi abbiamo preso 2primi ,2secondi,2contorni 1dolce ,tutto veramente ottimo ed abbiamo speso 58€i. Consigliatissimo

04/08/2025: Mangiato pizza e supplì ,buoni mentre la gricia e da rivedere. Servizio buono e veloce . Trattoria dove hanno una buona scelta di carne e viene servita anche con la piastra calda, buon servizio

01/07/2025: Sono stato per la prima volta all'osteria del parco di cui uno dei titolari è Claudio Ammendola l'attore. Infatti ci sono alcune foto all'interno del locale. Ho mangiato una amatriciana eccellente. Personale gentilissimo. Ancora complimenti alla prossima.

27/12/2025: A simple plate of macaroni cost €16. I felt like I was being ripped off. I paid €39 for two plates of pasta, two glasses of tap water, and a service charge that they add for no reason. A RIP-OFF.

09/02/2025: Mi presento con due zii passati da Roma da Ulisse di domenica alle 13:30, senza troppe speranze. Premetto che era la mia prima volta lì e non avevo idea di che tipo di locale fosse, speravo solo non fosse troppo turistico. Dopo neanche 10 minuti di attesa ci fanno sedere alla sala sotterranea, un ambiente con luci soffuse e atmosfera rilassante. Il servizio è stato impeccabile e garbatissimo, il cibo ottimo e il conto più che onesto. I miei zii sono stati felicissimi e mi chiedono sempre quando ci torniamo. Consiglio il fiore di zucca, davvero squisito.

26/08/2025: This restaurant has been closed for a long time. Despite this, they regularly take reservations for this restaurant. Then, an hour before your scheduled lunch/dinner, you're told to go to another restaurant (Officina del Gusto), which isn't at Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini 11 but at Via Trento 7, and which is completely different from the photos and location shown in this description. I find this behavior truly unfair and deceptive towards customers, and I don't understand how booking sites still accept it.

06/08/2025: Very disappointing, Location has changed so it’s no longer near the castle. The food was medium! The carbonara was unbeatable, they burnt the bacon so bad that it gave the whole dish a bitter burnt fat taste. The Cacio e Pepe was swimming in Parmesan cream with almost no Pepe and very “commercial”. The lam was fatty and salty with some nice bites The courgette flowers tasted like mozzarella sticks with ( a lot of) anchovies Some good things, The eggplant Parmesan was nice, good sauce and full of eggplant taste! The dough for the fried pizza special was delicious. There’s some nice potential there and the owner and staff were trying very hard to accommodate but the kitchen is just not good enough Sorry guys , Very disappointing We didn’t finish three of the dishes and left with no desert

08/11/2025: The first thing I noticed as soon as I entered after a few years of not coming is the renovation of the place, which, in my opinion, has made the osteria lose its character. Now it feels half elegant restaurant, half osteria: for example, some of the chairs are modern, others are classic straw chairs. I'm also struck by the fact that, on a Saturday night, there are only three of us, whereas in the past the place was full. While waiting for the other diners, we went to the bathroom and found both the women's and men's bathrooms dirty: they definitely hadn't been cleaned before the evening, given that there were five people at the tables before us. The dishes served promptly were good, and the first courses were plentiful. The prices are a bit high for an osteria: appetizers €11-12, first courses €13-14, desserts €7, a bottle of house wine €14. Parking is a bit of a problem... only along the street (Via di Pietralata) with some spaces that aren't exactly regular.

01/02/2026: Shocking please don't go here Tire trap!! Bad and slow service We waited 25 minutes for a plate of purchased sausages...shame And after that we waited another 20 minutes for carbonara which wasn't carbonara at all, it was crazy hard pasta with an omelette and some raw bacon. In the end we just wanted to get out of there so we asked for a check and it took the waiter 10 minutes to bring just one poor check, which was also expensive for no reason!!!! Really short, really shocking place, please don't go here!!!

26/01/2026: I went to this restaurant with my classmates. We were in Rome on a school trip and were looking for a nice place to eat. However, we didn't expect to be scammed. Ten of us sat down, and to keep costs low, we decided to order two platters for four people, each costing a whopping €50, three pasta dishes, and two small meatballs in tomato sauce, which were also very small, costing €9 each. When we asked the waiter what was on the platter and whether it was really enough for four people, the waiter replied that the platter was generous and had a bit of everything, from cured meats to cheeses, uttering the exact words: "from mortadella and prosciutto to loin and coppa." When the waiter arrived with the platter, he placed a platter on the table with just salami and speck and four pieces of pecorino romano. I don't question the quality of the two cured meats they served us, but I honestly think the €50 price tag for a platter that was worth less than half that is excessive. They also charged us €6 for bread. I will never return, and I don't recommend it.

12/09/2025: The place is cute, well-decorated, and the staff is always smiling and friendly. It's definitely better for an aperitif or after-dinner drink. The food quality, however, is unsatisfactory. The cured meats and cheeses are of average-to-low quality, and the fried foods are very greasy and heavy. We'll try it again for an after-dinner drink.

01/01/2026: We were there for lunch, and the food arrived very quickly; I didn't even have time to finish my coffee. The pasta with meat ragu was juicy, and they brought a glass of Parmesan cheese. The pizza was delicious, with plenty of cheese and thin crust. The coffee was delicious, very aromatic. The waiters were attentive and brought everything quickly. The price was reasonable, despite the very touristy location.

01/01/2026: Ate this evening... negative experience, 2 cacio e pepe spaghetti with mediocre sauce, 2 beers 8 euros each, Moretti not even quality, we asked for 15 euros for a glass of wine, it seems crazy to me, to finish 5.00 euros for the service and 3.00 for a half glass of water... let's say that you can find better at a reasonable price. To avoid.

13/06/2025: Who’s writing these reviews?! Did we go to the same place? This is essentially Olive Garden in Italy. Have you Alfredo pasta and baked potatoes surrounded by zero Italians. The service is bad. The food is very bad. The drinks are tasty but this isn’t a bar. There’s so many other places to eat in Rome, let this be the review you believe

13/06/2025: There was 4 of us looking for a nice restaurant for our last night in Rome. I found this one - excellent rating. When we eventually found it, we had to queue for about 10 minutes, then seated down the side of the restaurant (first reaction was that it seemed out of the way). We all ordered our meals and drinks, my husband got his first (a pizza), then about a minute or two later, spaghetti bolognese arrived for one of our friends. About 2 minutes more, my mushroom ravoli appeared. We were still waiting for one meal (beef steak strips) - that appeared 12 minutes after the first dish had arrived at the table. The steak was requested to be medium, and it appeared to be rare to medium rare - accompaniments of potatoes and rice were cold. My husband complained a couple of times and the wait staff seemed afraid of confront. But after asking for the bill, we noticed that the steak and a dessert had been comped. Definitely won't be going back, if we go back to Rome.

19/08/2025: There's nothing to complain about the food, given the quality and the enormous amount of work behind the scenes that justifies the expense. A sore point, since I won't be returning, is the fact that after requesting an invoice twice on different evenings, it never arrived. The worst thing is that I pointed out the failure of the first invoice on the second evening, and after being reassured that they would arrange for both invoices to be sent... after over a year, nothing has arrived in my tax drawer. It's a shame, truly a shame, that all this hard work has been wasted in such a petty way, even after payments were made using a traceable method.

07/07/2025: Vine a Italia de vacaciones. Vine a este restaurante para tener una agradable cena junto con mi familia. Pedí una pizza Margherita y para mi sorpresa su presentación fue un desastre. Tenía muy poca cantidad de mozzarella y algunos quesos normales. Su base no estaba bien cocinada como otros restaurantes Italiano . Otro miembro de la familia tomó lasaña. La porción era más pequeña de lo normal y no contenía muchos ingredientes. ¡Qué experiencia tan desastrosa! Cuando fui a pagar y mi tarjeta fue rechazada, los camareros se miraron entre sí y se quejaron (fue solo un error de PIN) ¡Éste no es un auténtico restaurante romano! Esto es una falsificación.

03/07/2025: Lindo y pequeño lugar al lado de Piazza Del Popolo. Precio medio y menú extenso. El minestrone era generoso y fresco. La pizza tiene una auténtica corteza fina y crujiente. El personal fue muy amable e hizo todo lo posible para que nos sintiéramos bienvenidos y cómodos.
