27/08/2025: Highly recommended place, very close to St. Peter's Square (on Via Borgio Pio). Great value. The portions are generous, so you won't leave hungry. The atmosphere is spectacular, and the staff is extremely friendly. They speak Spanish. Both the pasta dishes and the pizza we ate were spectacular. Without a doubt, this place isn't to be missed.

01/07/2025: Sono stato per la prima volta all'osteria del parco di cui uno dei titolari è Claudio Ammendola l'attore. Infatti ci sono alcune foto all'interno del locale. Ho mangiato una amatriciana eccellente. Personale gentilissimo. Ancora complimenti alla prossima.

14/05/2025: We dined here in May 2023 at the recommendation of the hotel clerk when we asked him we just want a hole-in-the-wall, good food restaurant. The clerk and his family dine here, so enough said. He also warned us not to expect any smiles or friendly greeting. in fact, he said it's going to look like they're all angry at having to work while the world is walking by their restaurant. No tables were available as they don't take reservations. They provided a seating arrangement for us, which was near the bathroom and across the tiny path from where they brew their coffees, have their salt/pepper packets (yes, that's right. packets. No bottles, this includes olive oil). My wife and I love these experiences because they are raw and unpretentious. If we wanted fine dining, we would have chosen that, but this was old-school dining with Grandma literally in the back cooking and yelling at the staff. INCREDIBLE food. We walked out paying $40 for our best meal of the week, and that included 2 glasses of wine. We laughed the entire time, and I promise you non a single staff member ever cracked a smile. This was like the "soup nazi" place on Seinfeld. In our 2024 trip, we couldn't coordinate our availability with the restaurant hours, and honestly, we were very dissapointed we couldn't return. We just booked our 2025 trip and have this place on our radar. That's how unique, basic, and delicious this place is. Paper napkins, salt and pepper packets, oil and vinegar in tear-off packets, no friendly staff, Nonna in the back with a stained and soiled apron, yet AMAZING food in the heart of Trastever District!!

11/05/2025: Siamo stati in questa osteria a conduzione familiare,aiutati nella scelta da un gruppo Facebook nel quale aveva delle ottime recensioni,e così è stato. Ragazzi molto simpatici cibo casereccio romano ,rapporto qualità prezzo buono ,noi abbiamo preso 2primi ,2secondi,2contorni 1dolce ,tutto veramente ottimo ed abbiamo speso 58€i. Consigliatissimo

08/11/2025: The first thing I noticed as soon as I entered after a few years of not coming is the renovation of the place, which, in my opinion, has made the osteria lose its character. Now it feels half elegant restaurant, half osteria: for example, some of the chairs are modern, others are classic straw chairs. I'm also struck by the fact that, on a Saturday night, there are only three of us, whereas in the past the place was full. While waiting for the other diners, we went to the bathroom and found both the women's and men's bathrooms dirty: they definitely hadn't been cleaned before the evening, given that there were five people at the tables before us. The dishes served promptly were good, and the first courses were plentiful. The prices are a bit high for an osteria: appetizers €11-12, first courses €13-14, desserts €7, a bottle of house wine €14. Parking is a bit of a problem... only along the street (Via di Pietralata) with some spaces that aren't exactly regular.

23/11/2025: My boyfriend and I arrived in Rome tired and drained from a red eye flight from the US. Our hotel was right down the block from this restaurant and I just so happened to spot it while we were driving in. We decided to go there since check in wasn't until later. The service was good, owners very attentive and it seemed they had the whole family working. You can tell its a local favorite as no one in there was speaking English. For our first meal in Rome we were thankful to find a hidden gem like this!

26/08/2025: This restaurant has been closed for a long time. Despite this, they regularly take reservations for this restaurant. Then, an hour before your scheduled lunch/dinner, you're told to go to another restaurant (Officina del Gusto), which isn't at Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini 11 but at Via Trento 7, and which is completely different from the photos and location shown in this description. I find this behavior truly unfair and deceptive towards customers, and I don't understand how booking sites still accept it.

06/08/2025: Very disappointing, Location has changed so it’s no longer near the castle. The food was medium! The carbonara was unbeatable, they burnt the bacon so bad that it gave the whole dish a bitter burnt fat taste. The Cacio e Pepe was swimming in Parmesan cream with almost no Pepe and very “commercial”. The lam was fatty and salty with some nice bites The courgette flowers tasted like mozzarella sticks with ( a lot of) anchovies Some good things, The eggplant Parmesan was nice, good sauce and full of eggplant taste! The dough for the fried pizza special was delicious. There’s some nice potential there and the owner and staff were trying very hard to accommodate but the kitchen is just not good enough Sorry guys , Very disappointing We didn’t finish three of the dishes and left with no desert

29/11/2025: Slow service; we called the waiter several times with virtually no response. They mistyped our order, so the first and second courses arrived along with some others, and the only dish for one person arrived at the end of the meal, despite our requests. Cold food. Consolation: good wine, nice place.

14/12/2025: I returned to this place after years for a graduation party. It's a new and nice place only in appearance, because it's dangerous: out of a table of 16 people, seven people hurt themselves, cutting themselves on dirty, protruding pieces of metal placed behind the chairs, invisible. The result: cuts to their legs and torn pants. I came in with new pants and left with pants that were worth throwing away. Zero customer service. The cocktails? Embarrassing to call them that. Colored water glasses, too expensive for the quality offered. Totally not worth it.

12/09/2025: The place is cute, well-decorated, and the staff is always smiling and friendly. It's definitely better for an aperitif or after-dinner drink. The food quality, however, is unsatisfactory. The cured meats and cheeses are of average-to-low quality, and the fried foods are very greasy and heavy. We'll try it again for an after-dinner drink.

25/04/2025: Per quanto riguarda il cibo ed il servizio nulla da eccepire. Il problema sorge quando si arriva alla cassa dove la proprietaria calca la mano sul conto in maniera vergognosa...4 fettine di pane da 1 cm ciascuna 6 Euro...una grappa 9 euro...una liquirizia 5 euro . Vino che puoi acquistare a 9 euro te lo fanno pagare 24 euro...X me questo si chiama furto...Non mi vedrete mai più..

14/04/2025: Cibo di buona qualità, servizio cortese ma prezzi davvero esagerati. Il caffè costa 4 euro ed il pane 3...da lì si parte.

18/07/2025: I went to this restaurant with high expectations, especially because a friend had highly recommended the chicken cacciatore. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. For my appetizer, I ordered breaded zucchini flowers with anchovies. The breading was so thick and greasy that the zucchini flowers couldn't even be tasted. The chicken cacciatore was submerged in oil between the skin and bones, there was very little cacciatore, and it was all accompanied by fried toppings that looked like they came from McDonald's! I don't doubt that others have had better experiences, but mine was below expectations and certainly not in line with the reputation I had been told.

16/07/2025: ⸻ Sono andato in questo ristorante con aspettative alte, soprattutto perché un amico mi aveva vivamente consigliato il pollo alla cacciatora. Purtroppo, è stata una grande delusione. Come antipasto ho ordinato i fiori di zucca impanati con le alici , l’impanatua era talmente spessa e grassa che il fiore di zucca non si sentiva proprio, il pollo alla cacciatora era sommerso nel olio tra pelle e ossa, di cacciatora c’era ben poco e il tutto accompagnato da patine fritte che sembravano uscite dal Mc Donald !! Non metto in dubbio che altri abbiano avuto esperienze migliori, ma la mia è stata sotto le aspettative e sicuramente non in linea con la reputazione che mi era stata descritta.

19/11/2025: At first glance it looked really nice place, but it ended feeling like a tourist trap. The food was nice, but unfortunately we let the waiter bring a mix of starters and the check went to 60 euros per person, which is way above average.

18/11/2025: We were a group of 5, they treated us like tourists, added extra appetizers to the bill, and in the end it was a very high bill for what was served.

13/06/2025: Who’s writing these reviews?! Did we go to the same place? This is essentially Olive Garden in Italy. Have you Alfredo pasta and baked potatoes surrounded by zero Italians. The service is bad. The food is very bad. The drinks are tasty but this isn’t a bar. There’s so many other places to eat in Rome, let this be the review you believe

13/06/2025: There was 4 of us looking for a nice restaurant for our last night in Rome. I found this one - excellent rating. When we eventually found it, we had to queue for about 10 minutes, then seated down the side of the restaurant (first reaction was that it seemed out of the way). We all ordered our meals and drinks, my husband got his first (a pizza), then about a minute or two later, spaghetti bolognese arrived for one of our friends. About 2 minutes more, my mushroom ravoli appeared. We were still waiting for one meal (beef steak strips) - that appeared 12 minutes after the first dish had arrived at the table. The steak was requested to be medium, and it appeared to be rare to medium rare - accompaniments of potatoes and rice were cold. My husband complained a couple of times and the wait staff seemed afraid of confront. But after asking for the bill, we noticed that the steak and a dessert had been comped. Definitely won't be going back, if we go back to Rome.
