09/02/2025: Mi presento con due zii passati da Roma da Ulisse di domenica alle 13:30, senza troppe speranze. Premetto che era la mia prima volta lì e non avevo idea di che tipo di locale fosse, speravo solo non fosse troppo turistico. Dopo neanche 10 minuti di attesa ci fanno sedere alla sala sotterranea, un ambiente con luci soffuse e atmosfera rilassante. Il servizio è stato impeccabile e garbatissimo, il cibo ottimo e il conto più che onesto. I miei zii sono stati felicissimi e mi chiedono sempre quando ci torniamo. Consiglio il fiore di zucca, davvero squisito.

15/11/2025: The service was sloppy and terrible. They asked me to change seats mid-way through the meal, and even though they forgot to bring me the Coperto bread, they still charged me for it. It's just a tourist spot, and the food was below average... It was a disgusting restaurant.

14/07/2025: This was a delightful restaurant very near Roma Termini. The staff was fantastic and so was the pasta. My grandson had their caccio e pepe twice! He said it was the best!

15/11/2025: We wanted to have a dessert and some drinks at 12.30 am. The waiter rudely told us that ‘this is a restaurant’ and ‘we can only have plates of food’ What? They had almost all their tables empty. If you do not want paying customers that is up you I guess but the manner in which he told us off was beyond rude. Spend your money elsewhere.

30/10/2025: The worst Italian food I have had in my life. Also the server we had, this older man with glasses, was incredibly rude and unhelpful to us. Wine was good though. The Caesar salad was a bunch of sad iceberg topped with 3-4 olives and barely seasoned chicken. Rhe risotto was a little better. The Portuguese food was fine, but nothing to write home about. I’m sad that this was one of the meals we wasted eating in Rome. Visitors beware.

24/04/2025: Scoperto da alcuni consigli online, prenoto per una serata di sabato. Disponibilità al telefono e dal vivo. Impressione buona del locale. Buona la disponibilità dei camerieri. Non male antipasto della casa (anche se di latticini come detto a voce, solo una mozzarellina piccola da dividere in due, nessuna presenza di formaggi). Purtroppo non soddisfacente la carbonara ( non convinceva la cottura dell'uovo e della cremina annessa, passaggio fondamentale per un'ottima carbonara, piatto non facile) e la stessa cacio e pepe troppo tendente alla cremosità che alla lunga disgusta. Non oltre la sufficienza. Prezzi nella norma.

21/09/2025: Today I celebrated my daughter's baptism for lunch at Checco's and was thrilled with what they did! As soon as we arrived, despite the confusion (we had to arrange place cards, centerpieces, cake, etc.), they were patient in helping us find the best solution. They organized the aperitif outside on a terrace, a fairly spacious spot. The food was very good and the portions were generous. Everyone was very accommodating and super kind. I had a great time and will definitely be back.

04/12/2025: We went for dinner with four of us in the middle of the week. The restaurant was nice, but the food was awful and extremely expensive. We spent almost €50 per person, without wine or dessert, for a plate of bland pasta full of water!

10/11/2025: We dined in a private room with very low ceilings and a musty, musty smell. The hallway leading to it leads to a bathroom, which causes nauseating odors. The shrimp in the spaghetti were cooked, not raw. The creamed cod appetizer was good. The tiramisu wasn't great. The table was extremely narrow. The rosé wine by the glass was awful (even according to the other diners I offered it to). I don't recommend it.

07/11/2025: They're going to be (too) attentive to the customer as long as they can keep selling more and more food. Then, it took them half an hour to bring a bill for two dishes and a bottle of water! They didn't have room temperature water. They don't display the prices of the drinks. I didn't like it!

02/12/2025: Delicious food, only missing some background music, nice service, I don't recommend the tiramisu, but the main courses are delicious, lots of seafood in the dishes, for this price it's great

02/12/2025: Good traditional experience. We have been coming here for 7 years now and we always enjoy ourselves equally every time. It is not a fancy restaurant but one with good Italian food. The best tiramisu we have in Rome.

12/11/2025: I went to this restaurant twice within a few months. In July I ordered the spaghetti Alfredo and it really is a wonderful experience. It's an event, I highly recommend it. I went back in November and ordered spaghetti alla vongole. I had wanted to try it in July and since the experience had been wonderful I thought it was worth going back. It was a disappointment. It lacked salt, it lacked seasoning. Not even the vongole, which I love, had any flavor. A shame. Their wine list is very good, the atmosphere is excellent, and the service is also very good. But, due to my bad experience on the second visit, I think it's only really worth it for the spaghetti alfredo, which, it seems, was created in this restaurant.

27/11/2025: Poor food, at least three days old, badly reheated, cold single-serving pasta, stuck together, savory pie with missing topping. I asked for a mushroom light and was told only an aperitif with consumption, but I was here for that purpose, so that was a very inappropriate response. I will never return.

26/10/2025: The hotel has a perfect location. We didn't take any transport during our entire vacation. The room was well-equipped and clean. Upon arrival, we were a bit frightened because everything was older than in the photos. You have to go through a doorway and go up to the first floor, and when you enter, there's a somewhat shabby reception area. However, afterward, everything was perfect. Being in the heart of Rome, the rooms are quite soundproofed thanks to their double-glazed windows.

20/08/2025: Horrible service. The staff weren't interested of serving us. When we ordered Dolce menu we only received the pizza. After 90 minutes of waiting we finally succeeded in gaining their attention. They brought us the check and tried to make us pay for the tiramisu we never received. Don't go there.

09/11/2025: I'm not in the habit of writing negative reviews, but since I'm used to being honest, I can't help but do so. We happened upon this place by chance, near the vintage show, enticed by the positive reviews we'd read. We didn't have a table reservation. The orders took forever to arrive at our table of four, all in random order, forcing us to eat one at a time. A forgotten appetizer even arrived with one of the first courses. The wait staff was very committed, but spoke and understood little Italian. A 75 cc bottle of still water cost €2, and the coffee arrived, just as we were paying the bill, for €2 in a small plastic cup. I'm trying to be understanding, thinking that it was all due to the staff being capable but insufficient for the number of seats in the crowded indoor and outdoor dining room. Other customers had similar complaints. With a few adjustments, it could improve.

09/11/2025: We had lunch at Burro e Sugo, enjoying a 30% discount through The Fork. Food Overall, the dishes were average, with no particular strengths or weaknesses, but with some contrasting surprises. I ordered cacio e pepe, which initially arrived without pecorino, with just parmesan and pepper, without the classic creamy sauce that characterizes the Roman dish, but with obvious oil and cooking water. After pointing this out quite clearly, I was brought a second course, this time correct and well-prepared, with the authentic flavor of the pecorino. However, the question remains as to why the first and second courses were different—a mistake, a lack of care, or perhaps different treatment depending on the customer. My mother ordered beef stew (presented as a roulade), which unfortunately she didn't like: the flavor was reminiscent of a packaged product, like canned meat. Another person chose the green pepper fillet, which initially arrived completely raw inside (not rare, but raw). After having it recooked, it came back to the table well-cooked and finally tasty, even though the wait was long. Service and Organization Unfortunately, the most disappointing aspect of the experience was the service. We waited almost an hour for our order to be taken, and overall the meal lasted over two and a half hours. The dining room management seemed disorganized and slow. In particular, the waitress who served us was rather aloof and dismissive, and her manner wasn't particularly friendly. Bill and The Fork Discount Even when it came to the bill, we noticed some inconsistencies. The first receipt showed a higher amount than expected, and only after a lengthy review and several recalculations (correctly considering the 30% discount on food, not drinks) did we arrive at a more consistent figure. We later noticed a charge error—two portions of artichokes instead of one—for which we were partially refunded (€4.50 out of €7). Conclusion In summary, Burro e Sugo offers average cuisine, but the experience was marred by very slow service, chaotic organization, and unclear billing. Although some dishes were ultimately acceptable, overall we would not return.
