25/06/2025: Visiting Da Secondo felt less like a meal and more like a social experiment in how much indifference a customer can tolerate. The staff seemed professionally trained in the art of avoiding eye contact, and the warmth one expects in Italian hospitality was replaced by an icy disinterest. The food? Impressive, if the goal was to redefine mediocrity. The prices, however, aimed for the stars — perhaps to compensate for the culinary gravity of the dishes. It’s hard to say what was more disappointing: the blandness of the pasta or the enthusiasm with which it was served (which is to say, none). In short: a place that looks charming from the outside but leaves you wondering if you should’ve just eaten at the train station.

18/05/2025: We ordered take-out, two main courses and a side dish, €34. The main courses were: lemon veal cutlet and saltimbocca alla romana. Both were ridiculous portions, two tiny slices, not €13 per dish! The veal cutlet was very hard, poor quality meat. I couldn't eat it. We called to report it and the owner, in addition to not being professional (calling my partner honey on the phone), raised her voice, coming across as unpleasant and rude. She offered to return the dinner to us but obviously we didn't accept because the way she said it was provocative and annoyed. Who knows what we would have found on our plate?! Result: we had a plate of pasta. Never again!!! Ridiculous portions and rudeness!!

12/06/2025: The portions were really small, and I paid €16 for a tomato soup. Otherwise, the taste was okay. Top-notch service.

09/06/2025: Terrible experience, they pass themselves off as a gluten-free restaurant but then they have little or nothing on the menu!!!! Bread in a bag, the rubber one (not even toasted!!! absurd) I asked for spaghetti, they only had short pasta!!! A menu that was not at all varied, I wonder why?? Also, at a certain point they literally kicked us out!!! Do we want to talk about parking? Paid!! Never again

29/05/2025: Friendly staff, very nice environment. The food was a total disappointment, fried food full of oil and raw. Pizza dough not digestible, pizza is a big word. We went for a classy dinner and we all had stomach aches the next day. I definitely won't go back and I don't recommend it, I hope I just chose the wrong day!

30/06/2024: I was a guest for a retirement lunch, what I can say is that I ate very well, excellent quality and quantity, the staff were very kind and helpful. I definitely recommend it, I will return with my wife and some friends.

06/06/2025: From the reviews I thought MUCH better, bland and tasteless pizza (among other things I don't think it was buffalo mozzarella and it was really lightly seasoned) the fried foods are the usual....... carbonara and amatriciana very normal in short without infamy and without praise. Staff without a smile from the entrance to the payment.

11/03/2025: Devo ringraziare lo staff di questo ristorante perché con i loro piatti ho fatto un tuffo nei veri sapori della cunina romana, finalmente un posto che realmente offre la cucina tipica del territorio anche con qualche piccola rivistazione che non va ad alterare il piatto originario. Abbacchio alla scottadito e coratella semplicemente fantastici il tutto condito da un ambiente familiare ed un servizio efficiente e cordiale. un posto da consigliare. Ci vedremo presto per assaggiare altri piatti.

20/06/2025: Did we get scammed? We went there for our first lunch in rome. The food was good but thats about it. It's an expensive place and we ended up paying 8 eur extra but only noticed when we were already out, seems like we got scammed. The potions were also small, can't really justify paying 50 eur for two small basic pasta dishes...

20/06/2025: Very rude service, we had a reservation and they gave our table away to another party because they were Italian, after we were waiting 15 minutes. They lied and said the others arrived before us. Very disappointed!

17/05/2025: Ci sono stato una settimana fa e posso dire di non aver mai mangiato così male in un ristorante in tutta la mia vita. La sera io e la mia compagna siamo stati anche male, segno della scarsa igiene che è visibile vedendo la cucina e il cuoco. Abbiamo preso una carbonara con la pasta cruda, l'uovo ancora crudo e l'acqua di cottura ancora visibile. Una persona inesperta in cucina alla sua prima esperienza con la carbonara avrebbe saputo fare di meglio. Abbiamo preso una amatriciana che di fatto era una pasta al sugo con del guanciale sopra. Carciofi alla giuria crudi. Un posto terribile. Credo che dovrebbe chiudere, è pericoloso per la salute pubblica.

11/05/2025: Service was very unfriendly; they didn't agree with each other. The food: the gnocchi were nothing; they were a simple tomato sauce without onions or herbs. Spaghetti vongole was OK. The rest of the food wasn't recommended. The bill wasn't correct either! The bread was charged at the same time.

06/05/2025: Delicious pasta! The staff is super friendly, and the food is so good. You have to come here and try the carbonara and cacio e pepe. The house wine was really tasty too. The atmosphere is adorable, and the outdoor seating is very comfortable.
