The restaurant is decorated like a trattoria, with fast and courteous service. I ordered artichokes alla giudia, which I found a bit soaked in oil. The carbonara, perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, was too salty.

Very nice location. However the food was not as good as expected. I had the Bucatini Alla Amatriciana. I know the Romans have a very peculiar al dente but this was borderline crunchy. The sauce was okay but overpowered by the undercooked pasta. We were the only ones in the restaurant on a busy Saturday afternoon so a very quiet (almost too quiet) atmosphere. Prices are fairly good and service was nothing to rave about.

Il maratoneta bistrot

25/04/2026: It's a bistro bar where you can eat very well. There's a wide selection of food, from starters to main courses and side dishes. Delicious homemade desserts. The atmosphere is quiet and the service is very good. I often go there when I'm in Rome because it's close to the Flaminia Stadium, where you can find parking and escape the hustle and bustle of the city center!
18/04/2026: We went there before a concert at the auditorium. The aperitif was very good for €16.

28/05/2025: Nella bellissima cornice di ostia antica in borghetto pieno di fiori, questa trattoria (nel senso positivo del termine) offre un accoglienza genuina e discreta. Tutti molto cordiali soprattutto un signore di cui non ricordo il nome. Prezzo adeguato. Voglio tornare di sera e in coppia

Location molto accogliente situata in un bellissimo scorcio di Ostia Antica, servizio veramente caldo e rapido, con personale gentilissimo che ci ha fatto sentire a casa. La qualità del cibo però non è stata altrettanto buona: tutto piuttosto semplice e ‘piatto’, niente di ‘cattivo’ senza nulla che meriti di essere riassaggiato. Peccato perché le molteplici recensioni positive avevano creato un’aspettativa abbastanza alta.
