11/03/2026: We discovered this fantastic place by chance and were truly impressed. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, with a warm and welcoming style reminiscent of grandma's house. The dishes are plentiful but, above all, delicious, rooted in tradition and prepared with great care. A special thanks to the host, who is truly friendly, helpful, and makes you feel immediately at ease. The paccheri cacio e pepe with artichokes are highly recommended: simply spectacular! A place where the food is excellent and we will definitely be returning. P.S. This is our second time here.

27/02/2026: Bad experience. The main problem was the quality of what they call "abbacchio scottadito" (a grilled lamb dish); first of all, it wasn't lamb, but lamb (unfortunately, this mistake is common among many restaurateurs), and the smell was indicative that something was wrong. The first courses were generously portioned, but the toppings left much to be desired. Finally, the pastry for the dessert wasn't cooked through. The atmosphere was very noisy, and the lighting was inappropriate for what is supposed to be a traditional Roman restaurant. The price was excessive, considering the service and quality; the bill also included the bread that wasn't brought to us, but those two euros didn't determine my opinion. To forget.

26/02/2026: Such a pure average, pasta Carbona..if I were Italian I would have something else, but nothing was recommended to us. The staff probably doesn't like foreigners out of season, when they found out that we don't speak full Italian, it was kind of abrupt in the communication. Otherwise, classic 4 euro service everywhere. Nothing much in the middle. Next time, probably something else...

16/02/2026: We happened upon this restaurant after a visit to the Roman Colosseum, Colosseum was very crowded, as we were very hungry and wanted to have lunch. The restaurant is charming and the waiters, the owner are very friendly. They speak English and Spanish. The pasta was excellent. I had the pasta with fish ( Tagliolini with cherry tomatoes and sea bass) something you would rarely find in the USA. My wife had the Gnocchetti ( don’t confuse with gnocchi) a coda di sore an all’ Amatriciana. That pasta was delicious and worth cleaning the plate with bread. If you are by the Roman Colosseum stop and eat a good meal at a friendly Italian restaurant near by.

06/03/2026: I went there a while ago and had a great time. But today was a real disaster. The portions were tiny; the fettuccine with guanciale, artichokes, and pecorino cheese was inedible. The artichoke strips (I think they were canned, not fresh) were practically boiled. I don't recommend it.

22/02/2026: The atmosphere was very pleasant, especially the front room. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, and we really liked the owner who came to take our order, even listing the off-menu items. The appetizer was very interesting, placing a lot of emphasis on vegetables. I find this a very intelligent choice, given that too often an excessively high-carb and high-fat starter ruins the following courses. However, we were very clear about wanting to focus on the first and second courses. The Amatriciana was exceptional, but the off-menu fettuccine with artichokes and guanciale was also excellent. The oxtail stew was perfectly cooked, with the tomatoes cooked just the right amount of time, and the flavorful meat fell apart just as it should. The other second course, the masterfully cooked lamb chops, remained juicy and flavorful, an undeniable quality. The side dishes were also traditional: puntarelle and Roman-style artichokes, the latter with such a subtle and perfect hint of lemon that I was amazed. After all, with such simple dishes, quality and the smallest details are crucial. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be back on our next visit to the area.

11/03/2026: We had dinner on our first day in Rome at I monticiana, as we read great reviews and it was close to our hotel. We have nothing but positive things to say about the food and service. The waiters are attentive without being overbearing, and they’re polite and professional. For starters we ordered the bruschetta with tomatoes, artichokes, ricotta and olives. It was lovely, the bruschetta was crunchy and tasty and the toppings fresh and delicious. We also ordered jewish artichoke which was crispy and topped with a delicious finely grated hard cheese, and the cheese dip which was melted and gooey in the middle eith crispy edges . The mains were gnocchi, cacio e pepe pasta and skirt steak (the skirt steak was absolutely phenomenal highly recommend it). Overall 10/10 experience and they deserve all the high praised they get!

16/03/2026: My family and I were walking through Rome by chance when we noticed this cozy little spot and decided to stop for lunch. The welcome was wonderful! We were shown to a table upstairs by Andrea, who then served us throughout the meal. The service was prompt and the food excellent! Special mention goes to the linguine with zucchini flowers and shrimp. A very positive experience, highly recommended! We'll definitely be back.

15/03/2026: We had saltimbocca alla romana, artichoke alla romana, and tiramisu for dinner. Prices were average, the place was very crowded, and there was a 20-minute wait to get in with a reservation. Unfortunately, the tables were very close together, and it was a bit confusing.

10/01/2026: It's increasingly difficult to eat well in Rome because of all the restaurants trying to capture tourists. Luckily, I was recommended this restaurant, where I had a fantastic dinner. The food was delicious, the waiters were very kind. The price was absolutely reasonable. We'll definitely be back. The carbonara was exceptional, and the lamb melted in your mouth. For dessert, try the zabaglione ones.

14/01/2026: A small but charming place, with excellent dishes (I had a buffalo mozzarella appetizer and two fried shrimp and calamari dishes), excellent value, and the lady serving the tables is exceptional. Highly recommended for dinner.

14/03/2026: The food was delicious, but the portions were woefully inadequate. The service was subpar, with rushed explanations of the dishes and appetizers. We definitely got the impression that our waitress would have been better suited to fast food. The bill was far too high for the overall experience, leaving us feeling that the evening would have been much better spent elsewhere.

02/03/2026: Good as always. I've been several times and can't find any flaws. There were four of us, each ordering two dishes (either a first and second course, or an appetizer and second course) and coffee. We also had a bottle of wine and two glasses of sparkling wine. Anyway, every dish was excellent! I'd say it's a guarantee.

12/12/2025: If you love seafood, look nowhere else and come here straight! This is one of the very few restaurants which serve superb spaghetti scoglio!! The mixed grilled seafood is also beyond words! うますぎてびっくり‼️

06/02/2026: An old-fashioned osteria with old-fashioned flavors. Everything is wonderfully simple (and that's a compliment!) and wonderfully good. Authentic cuisine, with very attentive service in a welcoming setting. Chickpea and clam soup, tuna tonnarello, mixed fried fish, sautéed broccoli, tozzetti, poached truffle, half a liter of white wine, and water for €55. The price, too, deserves its five stars. Everything was perfect, even the bread.

Each course was an explosion of flavor, a testament to the passion and expertise of the kitchen. The service was attentive and punctual, with friendly, helpful, and always smiling staff. You could sense their professionalism and passion for their work. It's definitely a place I'll gladly return to and one I recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy excellent food in a pleasant setting.

10/03/2026: Best meal we have had in Italy! We stopped here while cycling the Via Appia and had their Sunday lunch menu. Staff were friendly and helpful and the fresh pasta was delicious - better than the Michelin guide one we had in Rome!
