23/06/2025: Simply great food. Strongly recommend the amatriciana and roast lamb. Helpful staff with no hard sell, fast service. Will definitely try to get a booking again. I really like the understated décor, finishes, and great art. Although absolutely fine, if I were to try to improve the atmosphere, I'd only make some improvements to the lighting.

19/06/2025: We didn't have a reservation, but asked them politely to accommodate us if it's possible. Gentleman told us to come for an hour. And they gave us a table. Food is unbelievable, it was the best carbonara i ever tried, and i traveled across whole of Italy and know what good carbonara is. Prices are also fair. All the best to these people!

13/06/2025: I ordered fish. A fish that hadn’t even been cleaned of its scales was brought to me with just a quarter slice of lemon. That was the entire service. If you’re going to eat fish here, don’t expect anything more. It was honestly the worst, rudest, and most disrespectful service I’ve ever experienced in my life. I absolutely do not recommend it. But if you still want to go, it’s up to you.

12/06/2025: I've firmly resolved not to write bad reviews. But this restaurant forces me to. The ambiance is good. Successful. The food is a matter of taste – some people love it, others less so. I'm of the latter variety. The worst part of our visit, however, was the service. Unfortunately, the waitress changed during our visit around 4 p.m. Unfortunately in two senses of the word, because the "changeover" was unqualified, rude, and incompetent. The restaurant experience was ruined within seconds. Thank you for that.

30/05/2025: As we arrived we were not even welcomed properly. The server was really unfriendly and told us he could not seat seven people. Even though there was a free space for 6 and he could have given us one chair. Then he accepted with a sour face. He gave us the menus without a word. We waited for 10 Minutes before we could order. After we told him only one of us would eat and the rest of us would like a coffee and drinks he said that they only serve lunch even though there were other tables that only had ordered drinks. We stood up and left with a feeling that we were througn out. Would not reccomend this place, not ever.

14/06/2025: The best restaurant here in the area: The food is good, the atmosphere from the staff is welcoming, the room is not noisy at all, and on days when there are fewer people it creates an almost family atmosphere. The portions of the first courses are abundant. In my case, who had to wait a bit for the gluten-free pasta to be cooked, they brought us an appetizer (offered by the house) to cheer up the wait. The raw fish is excellent, with fresh and quality fish (therefore by reservation).

06/04/2025: Ristorante situato sulla via Aurelia. Sono andato con mia moglie e mio figlio. Non abbiamo ricevuto il menu. Abbiamo chiesto cosa ci fosse di primi piatti e dopo avercene illustrato alcuni (volevamo mangiare quelli con i carciofi) abbiamo ordinato 2 fettuccine gricia e carciofi e un timballo di carciofi (senza sapere il prezzo), pero' ci hanno detto che c'era un po' da aspettare e se volevamo prendere qualcosa dal carrello degli antipasti. Non volevamo gli antipasti ma vista l'insistenza abbiamo scelto io e mia moglie un carciofo a testa e mio figlio i peperoni. Praticamente un carciofo euro 14!. Peccato perché i primi erano buoni e il personale nonché il titolare cordiale ma l'assoluta mancanza di trasparenza mi fa emettere un giudizio negativo. Non ci tornerò di certo!

10/06/2025: TL;DR: Plan your way back ahead! this is worth every effort! Don't miss it! They all speak perfect english. Rome was in absolute mayhem when we visited-Champions League madness, Circus Maxus closed, buses canceled, and massive protests blocking streets. After fighting through the chaos in a taxi to Via Appia Antica, we stepped into what felt like another world. The owner greeted us with warmth and humor, setting the tone for the evening. Unlike the hectic city center, the terrace was serene-it was just our table and one other-making it the perfect escape. Ignore any negative reviews claiming this place feels "artificial." The owner's passion is real, from the way he shares stories (like the history behind the ancient cheese spread) to how he happily accommodates special requests we both had. This isn't a tourist gimmick-it's a genuine love for reviving Rome's forgotten flavors and sharing his passion with the guests. The food? Extraordinary. The tomato-less lasagna (straight from Apicius' ancient recipes) was so good I wished I had another plate. Must-try: The ancient wine pairing-it elevates the whole experience. Sadly I orded it after the food. Every dish came with a tale, transporting us further back in time. As our last night in Rome, this wasn't just dinner to wrap things up-it was the perfect finale, a true cherry on top. We recommend the place to everyone that comes to rome and is interested in a little historical time travel. But i advice everyone to plan their way back in advance as it is far out and public transport tends to become unreliable towards midnight!

08/06/2025: This is the most adorable restaurant off the famous Via Appia Antica. The service was always with a smile and very friendly. The food was delicious and served hot. We had the place to ourselves on a Friday at lunch around 1pm. Don’t let the 150m walk down the driveway discourage you. Go, you will not be disappointed!

22/05/2025: Se hai avuto la sventura di partecipare ad un escape da Lucifer non mancare di rifarti la bocca al ristorante San Tarciso, semplice e accogliente. Il retro del ristorante si trova proprio difronte all’uscita dell’escape room Lucifer. Eravamo in 8 e nonostante il locale già fosse vuoto e stesse chiudendo ci hanno accolto carinamente e servito con professionalità e cortesia. Il menu è ricco di piatti romani. Le polpette fritte di bollito sono una squisitezza. La “vignarola” una piacevole scoperta. I primi abbondanti e ben conditi soddisfano anche i palati più esigenti. Gnocchi fatti in casa “da paura”! Le pizze ben cotte nel forno a legna sono leggere e ben lievitate. Il prezzo che rispecchia il brutto “andazzo” dei locali romani in cui una pizza può costare 13,00/15,00 euro … sembra un po’ elevato in rapporto alla location

10/03/2025: I recently visited this lovely restaurant in Rome while traveling solo. The crème brûlée was absolutely amazing! I wanted to capture a photo of it with the fire, but it had gone out. Luckily, I think the person’s name was Laki (or Landi , I might not be remembering it correctly), but he was incredibly kind and and brought me another crème brûlée with the fire just so I could get the perfect photo. The service was exceptional, and I truly appreciated the warm hospitality. I’m giving 5 stars because of Laki’s help. Highly recommend this place!
