13/03/2026: We received a very warm welcome at this neighborhood restaurant, whose walls are a bit cluttered with various paintings for sale. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. There were seven of us in this dining room with about twenty seats, and we were served quickly, all homemade dishes. The eggplant croquettes, risotto, and tiramisu were excellent, with regulars coming and going. The prices are very reasonable compared to the historic center (as you'd expect in this neighborhood). Very good.

13/03/2026: Excellent value for money. The food reflects Roman cuisine, abundant and delicious. Francesca and the entire staff are friendly and make you feel at home. It's now a must-visit every time I'm in Rome.

20/01/2026: Been several times, you have to book! The food is good, as are the first courses and appetizers, even the lamb! The atmosphere is a bit too noisy, but it's worth it! Good service.

02/01/2026: NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE FROM THE FIRST TIME I WENT THERE, EVERYTHING SEEMED OK, THEN I RETURNED AFTER A YEAR... BUT I FOUND EVERYTHING REALLY NEGATIVE... THE LASAGNA WAS OVERFULL OF SAUCE AND THEN IT FELT LIKE I WAS EATING GUM INSTEAD OF PROVOLA. THE ESCAROLE, LET'S NOT TALK ABOUT IT... 15/03/2026: The welcome was nonexistent, anything but welcome. The service was also nonexistent; we waited half an hour for our pizza, then another half hour with an empty plate in front of us. Thank you very much.... Without anyone from the service team bothering to ask, "How are you?" Prices are above average. A €9 pizza will set you back €14. And if it's really fiordilatte, it's poor quality. And if it's the leavening, it's not. And if it's the ingredients or the quantity, nothing special, and you're only looking at four things on a pizza. We left with this thought: "We would have done better to eat dinner at home."

Expensive for what it is (€41.50 for two main courses and water). On the plus side, the food is good. But I think you'd be better off going somewhere else.

18/03/2026: This is our favourite place in Rome hands down. We have been coming to Papa Rex since 2018 and we recently went twice in February 2026. The food is incredible and good value. The restaurant is large and spacious and has a nice atmosphere. The servers are amazing. So friendly and professional and look after you so well. Special thanks to Marco and Daniele who looked after us last month. We went as a family of four and a large group of 14 and it was so special both times. Next time I am in Rome I am just eating here every night.

22/03/2026: On a chilly Sunday, we looked for a classic Roman restaurant in the area. They hosted us outside, I must say well-equipped, even with nice overhead heaters. We were tempted to order several appetizers: chickpea soup (good but slightly bland), eggplant tart (excellent), cod fillet (excellent), Roman-style artichokes (and I'm sorry to say they were tough, hairy, and not very flavorful—a shame because I was craving them), tagliolini with artichokes and speck (in our opinion, too much oil and salt, and the artichokes were the same as above). As an entrepreneur, I enjoy going to local restaurants, but we need to work to improve. It's a shame that I wasn't asked for anything, even though we sent the artichokes back as soon as we tasted them (and paid for them), and I didn't ask for a discount or complain.

18/03/2026: This lovely restaurant is located in Rome's historic center, just steps from Campo de' Fiori. The characteristic, well-furnished and well-maintained rooms welcome you with courtesy and expertise. The menu offers excellent traditional classics, beautifully presented and accompanied by a good wine list. The price/performance ratio is very good, considering the area. We'll be back!

12/03/2026: I ordered takeout, and the tonnarelli alla gricia were AMAZING. I really have to compliment the chef. They were plentiful, flavorful, and hot. I'm truly beyond satisfied. The baked potatoes were delicious and plentiful, too. The gentleman who delivered my order was incredibly kind and a truly wonderful person. Even though I'd forgotten to leave my phone number so he could call me and open the door to the B&B, he waited long enough for me to come out the door. He was truly dutiful and kind, not even scolding me for making him wait. I was truly grateful.

23/03/2026: We had breakfast here and found the food to be okay, but the service was disappointing. Our server was audibly annoyed when we requested two items and did not check on us during the meal. We’ve had great experiences in Rome, but unfortunately, this was an exception.
