09/08/2026: On a very hot Friday, August 7, 2026, we wandered between Piazza di Spagna and Via Condotti looking for a restaurant for lunch. We were drawn by the kindness of a gentleman standing outside Osteria Croce. A quick chat and we understood, we're stopping here. The gentleman is a typical restaurateur of the past. He offered us two glasses of prosecco, brought a bowl of water for our dog, and left us in the hands of the waiter Giorgio. He was incredibly kind and professional. Inside, it's an authentic Roman restaurant, romantic and welcoming. The dishes are plentiful and delicious. The CARBONARA IS THE BEST IN ROME 😍😍😍 The tuna carpaccio with melon is fabulous, and the cacio e pepe is equally delicious. We literally left the restaurant rolling 😅 we were full. A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED restaurant. An important detail: the prices are truly fair. I hope everyone doesn't miss the opportunity to dine at this authentic Roman restaurant. It's a unique experience.

16/07/2026: We stopped for a quick lunch on our way back from a visit to the Bambino Gesù hospital. Everything was delicious, the place served typical Roman cuisine, the owners were helpful and friendly, and the gricia was truly excellent. I've never had such a good meal, tasty but not salty. Congratulations 👏👏👏

16/07/2026: I paid 38 euros for polenta, sausage with sauce, potatoes that were supposed to be baked but were cold, and a chicken leg, also cold. This is truly unacceptable.

15/03/2026: We originally planned to dine at this restaurant for both lunch and dinner today. However, the plan was ruined by an unqualified young waitress. During lunch, due to her carelessness, she placed the bread basket at the edge of the table and nearly let it fall to the floor. The slices of bread were scattered on the table, and she casually picked them up and put them back into the basket, then handed it to us. We asked her to replace the bread, but she showed clear displeasure. Fortunately, an older waitress had some sense of professionalism and agreed to replace it. Nevertheless, our appetite had already been greatly diminished, so we hurried through the meal and canceled our original dinner reservation.

03/08/2026: A sure thing: attentive and friendly service, a pleasant and spotlessly clean atmosphere, delicious food, excellent fried foods, delicious pizzas (one of the few that doesn't give me digestive problems), well-prepared pasta dishes, and the other diners tell me the meat is excellent (I don't eat it). I'll gladly return even though I live quite far away.

However, I sincerely apologize for asking to have the bread removed from the receipt because I did not eat it, as it appears that bread is provided free of charge in Italian culture as a cover charge. The food tasted decent, and the service was not bad. (I do apologize once again for the server appearing displeased that I asked to remove the complimentary bread.) Since this seems to be a common misunderstanding, I would like to cautiously suggest labeling the charge on the receipt as "cover charge" rather than "bread."

22/06/2026: I dined outside, but the seating was cramped if all the tables were occupied. The amatriciana was excellent, and the tiramisu was also very fresh. Good price.
