12/01/2025: We found it by accident, tired, hungry and intimidated by the elegant decor of the place. We were hosted masterfully. Delicious, nicely presented and filling regional dishes, with lots of additions. Very good Apulian cheesecake. The waiter deserves special attention, as he served us in an impeccable manner, providing information about the served dishes with care and great culture. A place worth recommending.

20/12/2024: The other evening I had dinner at this restaurant and I was really very satisfied. The originality of the dishes, the refinement in the selection of raw materials, the availability and attention of chef Rocco make this restaurant a truly unique place. I would like to point out that I am celiac which limits the gastronomic specialties that I can actually try; however the gluten-free ones I have tried are among the best. In particular the spaghetti "alla San Giuannidd". I recommend it to everyone and especially to celiacs! I will definitely return

22/12/2024: In the lively historic center of Monopoli, among lights, scents and commercial liveliness, the Locanda dei Mercanti also carves out its rightful space. Two random visits over time with different groups and two satisfactions fully appreciated not only by myself. Welcoming restaurant due to the sociability of the staff, capable of professionalism and interaction with customers. Friendly environment simply furnished in nautical style. Efficient and effective kitchen in transforming quality products into succulent and captivating dishes. You can vary between cooked appetizers and raw seafood ones without ever having any flaws on the palate. The proposal of the two "tastings" of first courses did not disappoint on both occasions in terms of taste and quantity. The tubes with redfish soup are a caress to the taste buds. The mixed fried seafood with calamari, prawns, cod and red mullet is dry and fragrant. To finish, sorbet and the inevitable "sporcamuso" as dessert. In closing, satisfied and satiated, we could only thank the owner Antonio for an upcoming tasty return. The photos, a pleasant mix of memories of both events.
