Da Paolo In Bari

A trusted name in Bari for years now. Nothing to complain about, excellent food and service at a fair price. Everything else is boring, as someone said. If we have to nitpick, it makes no sense. Criticism should be made when mediocre food is paired with a high price... and that's not the case here.

Excellent quality food, fast service and kind and efficient staff.

My wife and I spent a week in Bari, which, along with its surroundings, we absolutely loved. But our most cherished memories are of Casa Da Paolo. We went for dinner the first night on the recommendation of a friendly local, and incredibly, we ended up going back for lunch and dinner every single day. (Why change something that's perfect?) So much so that after the second dinner, we didn't order anything; the head waiter, Nasir, simply served us whatever he thought appropriate (drinks and dessert included). He introduced us to dishes and desserts we wouldn't have otherwise had the chance to try. The family that owns the restaurant made us feel right at home. The young people who work with Nasir in the dining room were incredibly polite and friendly. The chefs were incredible, and no wonder (all kinds of pasta with unforgettable sauces, fish and seafood so fresh it reminded us of home, the Basque Country). I know I'm rambling on, but I can't help it. Thank you to everyone at Da Paolo, and a very big hug to Nasir. You'll always be in our hearts. Martin.

If you REALLY want to eat fish, you absolutely have to go there. There's nothing that isn't excellent. I rediscovered the place a few years ago and it's become my go-to. Tradition perfectly handed down.

A tip from our accommodation led us to this restaurant in Bares. We got a table even without a reservation and were very warmly welcomed by our waiter, Nasser. He expertly guided us through the menu and recommended some special highlights. We had a delicious meal and it wasn't expensive. We'd gladly come back. Highly recommended!
