15/02/2025: When you enter La Rana, you don't go to eat but to live an experience, among the only historic surviving trattorias. In the middle of nowhere in the Marzaglia countryside of Modena, easily reachable but you only see it when you've already passed it.... and you have to go back. Everything stopped in the 70s, a journey through time. Genuine, informal and trattoria-like environment, the food is the best, guaranteed quantities, unbeatable price-quality. family run, attentive, fast, friendly staff...etc I don't have any particular recommendations on dishes, you can't go wrong, the menu has been like this for decades, so it's well-explored.

18/02/2025: I was in Modena for a sports competition and being in a nearby b&b, I decided to go and eat in this place. The food is very good, the owner is very approachable and friendly, the bill was honest compared to what I ate (I don't know in the area whether it could be expensive or not). The place isn't anything special, but for a restaurant it's certainly well done. Advised! The fried gnocco is very good!

17/02/2025: Excellent experience!! Super recommended. Emilian and Sicilian dishes. The place is small, but nice and welcoming. The owner, friendly and available for choosing the dish based on tastes. The Palermo-style rolls are delicious. Reservation recommended.

10/02/2025: Excellent dinner based on local products of the highest quality. Fantastic fresh homemade pasta, top lasagne. Superlative “Barozzi-type” cake! Impeccable and fast service, very kind waiters who gave us really good advice. Welcoming and spacious environment.

30/01/2025: If you're searching for a place to eat, stop. You found it. We went to this place and had two courses, made on the same day, best italian food we had here in 4 months. The waiter Alessandro was very welcoming and made our day a great one, he gave us to try some things that we did not know for ordering and he recommended us around modena. We also found this random guy in the restaurant, he said he was staying at maranello but he got around here with a helicopter. He also said some weird stuff about freezing his dog or something. He was weird but got him into the photo. Best experience you can have before or after going to the Ferrari museum.

09/02/2025: Refined Emilian trattoria 5 minutes from the Modena south motorway exit. Traditional dishes cooked with skill, informal and welcoming environment, very friendly staff. For lovers of Formula 1 (the epic one) photos and memorabilia to admire on the walls. Ideal for a business lunch or for a break with the family. A point of reference for 20 years when I am in the area. Recommended are the tortellini in capon broth, the boiled meats and roasts served on trolleys together with very tasty side dishes. Pole position restaurant!

21/02/2025: 5 stars deserved. The entrance already suggests the warm environment that awaits customers inside. Inside you can really feel Italy. Quality and home, it will remain a beautiful memory of Modena!

23/02/2025: Very good food but €40 for a starter of fried gnocco and cured meats, an encore of first courses and dessert seems excessive to me. Made to leave after several reminders at 11.30pm on Saturday evening.
