13/07/2026: I've been to this restaurant several times over the years and have always enjoyed it. For this very reason, the last time I was disappointed was even greater. There were three of us for lunch and we ordered two tortelloni, one tagliatella, one baked ham, some involtini, and a carpaccio, along with a bottle of still water, one sparkling water, half a liter of house wine, and three coffees. No dessert. The bill was €100 (it was originally supposed to be €108). I honestly find this price completely disproportionate to what we ate. Spending over €30 per person for a lunch like this, in such a simple location, seems excessive. If at least the place were particularly well-kept or the service impeccable, I could understand it, but that's not the case here. The place could use more maintenance: for example, the bathroom door was broken, and overall the ambiance absolutely doesn't justify such a high price. The service was also disappointing: the potatoes arrived after we had already finished our main courses. I'm sorry to write this review because I've always had a great experience in the past, but this time, the value for money was, in my opinion, truly unjustifiable. At €100 for three people, I definitely expect a different experience.

02/06/2026: Good pasta, we loved the lasagna. Friendly staff, mostly Italians eat here. We had lunch and spent just over 20 euro per person.

30/05/2026: What a wonderful place! The staff were so kind and helpful, the atmosphere was busy and joyful, and our lunch was incredible! If you're visiting Modena, do whatever it takes to stop here for lunch.

17/07/2026: I think it couldn't get any better. Passing by, we booked for dinner. The welcome was warm, but during dinner, chatting with the owner made it feel almost like home. The dishes were excellent, and the prices were fair. There's no need to look any further!

18/07/2026: A typical Emilia-Romagna trattoria, with exquisite dishes, prepared with the care of home cooking, everything delicious, the cured meats superb, the appetizers delicious and fresh, and what can I say about the first courses? Stuffed pasta with top-notch sauces 🔝, the boiled meat trolley superb, and the second courses, each one better than the last, truly something for everyone. A special mention also for the desserts, strictly homemade. Excellent value for money, in line with the type of place. Absolutely recommended; in fact, I'd say you could even go there specifically for this place.

07/08/2026: An excellent traditional restaurant with classic regional dishes. It is still run by the family of the late first owner, the staff is smiling, cheerful and approachable, and the food is spectacular.

The menu features traditional Modenese dishes that are of a high standard, but for dessert, you absolutely must try the cannoli or cassata, which are sourced directly from Sicily (the owners' home region). We had a wonderful time here for a quiet family lunch.

The fresh, homemade pasta dishes are the real highlight: fragrant, light gnocco fritto (fried gnocchi), paired with top-quality cured meats (well-cured Modena prosciutto, salami, and coppa), and warm tigelle (flatbreads) served with the classic lard and aromatic herb pesto. Traditional classics, such as tortellini in capon broth and tagliatelle with rich, flavorful ragù, are also excellent. Among the main courses, the Bolognese cutlet stands out, prepared according to traditional recipes without shortcuts. 13/05/2026: The best of the best of the best of Modena's tradition. Tortellini and a trolley of boiled meats are mind-blowing. Simply the best. We go there for special occasions but also for dinners with friends. Best to book to secure a table.

26/04/2026: Between the meat, sauces, and shortbread, all excellent, the boiled meats cart is perhaps the best I've ever eaten! The only shame is that the first courses weren't exactly thrilling. I'll be back!

31/07/2026: I was fascinated. It feels like home. Don't look for the menu, Signora prepares with seasonal ingredients bought at the Albinelli market. Everything is carefully served by her. The pasta is always fresh and made by her with a delicious filling. She does everything, serving at the table. Oh, and if other customers come in, she suggests we all sit together... I find that really nice, but now I'm missing that desire to chat even with people you don't know.
