15/02/2025: When you enter La Rana, you don't go to eat but to live an experience, among the only historic surviving trattorias. In the middle of nowhere in the Marzaglia countryside of Modena, easily reachable but you only see it when you've already passed it.... and you have to go back. Everything stopped in the 70s, a journey through time. Genuine, informal and trattoria-like environment, the food is the best, guaranteed quantities, unbeatable price-quality. family run, attentive, fast, friendly staff...etc I don't have any particular recommendations on dishes, you can't go wrong, the menu has been like this for decades, so it's well-explored.

09/02/2025: Abbiamo prenotato il carrello del lesso ma nonostante la prenotazione ci è stato servito un vassoio di bollito senza la possibilità di scegliere . Quantità insufficiente x 4 persone . Costo del pranzo era riferito al carrello. Non soddisfatti.

18/02/2025: I was in Modena for a sports competition and being in a nearby b&b, I decided to go and eat in this place. The food is very good, the owner is very approachable and friendly, the bill was honest compared to what I ate (I don't know in the area whether it could be expensive or not). The place isn't anything special, but for a restaurant it's certainly well done. Advised! The fried gnocco is very good!

17/02/2025: Excellent experience!! Super recommended. Emilian and Sicilian dishes. The place is small, but nice and welcoming. The owner, friendly and available for choosing the dish based on tastes. The Palermo-style rolls are delicious. Reservation recommended.

10/02/2025: Excellent dinner based on local products of the highest quality. Fantastic fresh homemade pasta, top lasagne. Superlative “Barozzi-type” cake! Impeccable and fast service, very kind waiters who gave us really good advice. Welcoming and spacious environment.

30/01/2025: If you're searching for a place to eat, stop. You found it. We went to this place and had two courses, made on the same day, best italian food we had here in 4 months. The waiter Alessandro was very welcoming and made our day a great one, he gave us to try some things that we did not know for ordering and he recommended us around modena. We also found this random guy in the restaurant, he said he was staying at maranello but he got around here with a helicopter. He also said some weird stuff about freezing his dog or something. He was weird but got him into the photo. Best experience you can have before or after going to the Ferrari museum.

24/01/2025: I went for lunch today with some friends, the staff was very kind and professional, the food was delicious, tortellini with parmesan cream crust and balsamic vinegar from Modena were superb.

25/01/2025: A Modena per lavoro, mi consigliano questo ristorante per la cena. Una sera in settimana, ci rechiamo in due in questo locale senza aver prenotato, entro io, e chiedo ad un signore (titolare?) se ci fosse un tavolo per 2 libero. Non mi saluta nemmeno, prende e si allontana senza dirmi nulla, io lo guardo piuttosto stranito, si reca un'altra sala, ritorna, guarda un quadernetto, va presso un tavolo apparecchiato per tre, toglie un posto tavola e mi indica il tavolo. Passando ai piatti, due antipasti di salumi non male. A seguire filetto all'aceto balsamico, chiesto al sangue, servito a cottura media... No comment. Unica nota positiva il cameriere che ci ha serviti, un tipo magro, attorno alla sessantina, gentile ed educato, per il resto... a mai più.

25/01/2025: Unusual location but excellent food. Typical cuisine. Excellent dumplings and tortelli. Fast and precise service. Only note: change POS contract, it's impossible not to accept circuits such as visa, mastercard, etc...

29/12/2024: Abbiamo mangiato dei tortellini in brodo super! davvero buonissimi anche se la porzioni era davvero un pò piccolina. Ottimo il servizio e anche il dolce!
