Professional and empathetic service. The service at €3.50 seems excessive to me. The puree is excellent, the Rovato type beef is excellent, the 30 month raw meat is excellent, the risotto and onion soup are normal. The chestnut cake didn't have the right consistency for me

08/02/2025: Non è semplice recensire questo locale: bisognerebbe riuscire a distinguere più voci come in alcune note trasmissioni televisive. Il posto (o la location, come si direbbe…) è semplice, ma curata, particolare, in stile moderno. Il servizio è buono, niente da dire; così come la qualità del cibo! Il menù, un filo pretenzioso: traspare l’ispirazione dei gestori, che puntano in alto. Il prezzo è esagerato. Un piatto con 6 tortelli di zucca al burro e salvia a 22 euro è decisamente troppo alto. La qualità si paga, ok, ma non così tanto.

08/02/2025: Reported by Michelin, a nice discovery in Mantua. Traditional dishes but with a look beyond the hedge. The cured meats served were exceptional. Generous and tasty pumpkin tortelli. I expected something more from the stuffed squid but the raw materials were excellent. The service was very courteous and informal. The place is nice but small. Better to book. Prices are adequate.

07/02/2025: For the first time after the change of management from the Martini family to the Antoniazzi family, I had the opportunity to have lunch at Il Cigno. Let me start by saying that I know the work done to give a new identity to the place and I recognize how difficult it is to maintain the balance between the tradition of the previous management and the new direction. Even more so in a city like Mantua, where the culture of fine dining is still unknown. The location, as well as the service and the menu, are going through a moment of transition, with a reinterpretation in a more modern and current key. From a gastronomic point of view, I ate very well. The spaghetti, in particular, won me over with the right balance between the freshness of the lime and the creaminess of the oyster mayonnaise, while the tempura added a pleasant crunchiness. The lamb tartare is also very good, perhaps a little too delicate. I was surprised by the optional proposal of pumpkin tortelli, served with Tastasal and a tomato puree separately, in perfect compliance with the traditions of the entire province. I will definitely return to try other dishes created by chef Zanardi. In conclusion, the price is high, but it is understandable for an experience of this type. The context, the service and the research must be recognized and valorised; otherwise, the sustainability of the entire project would suffer. If you are not willing to understand this logic, perhaps it is better to avoid it.

08/02/2025: Osteria Numero 2 was a wonderful discovery. You walk in and immediately feel at home, warmly welcomed by Moreno and his staff, who look after you attentively and kindly. A rich and varied menu, as well as being exquisite. I loved everything and I really recommend it. Thanks Moreno, we will be back soon.

The food was very good, I don't give 5 stars because the pumpkin pie as a starter cost the same as the cold cuts plate... perhaps a little expensive. For the rest I would absolutely go back.

09/02/2025: Had lunch today with the family and were truly satisfied, we chose a complete menu with tasting, delicious and to the test of demanding palates like ours who have been restaurateurs ourselves. Refined and tasty pumpkin tortelli, exceptional stew and finally perfect fregolotta... good Lambrusco and counting... a pleasant surprise. Friendly atmosphere and staff and attentive service. We will be back and would recommend it to foodie friends

27/01/2025: Always good dishes and super abundant, now a guarantee. Super honest prices given the quantities. This makes me reflect on those places that often have much lower quality/quantity and higher prices. Highly recommended.

20/01/2025: Compared to the last visit a couple of years ago, the place has not changed its appearance. The environment is rustic and cramped but nice. This last experience, however, was particularly disappointing, both for the quality of the service and the food, which was far too abundant. We ordered two bruschettas (huge and with the ingredients jumbled together and disconnected from each other) and two appetizers of mixed cured meats which never arrived due to a fault in the slicer and were replaced with local salami (good but charged at the price of the appetizers of complete cured meats). . While we were trying to consume the starter, the waiter arrived to remove the plates and deposit the four first courses ordered (3+1 divided in two). According to him, they were in a hurry because the place was packed with people. Followed by 2 plates of ossobuco (but only the bone lost among potatoes cooked probably separately), 2 cheeks with beans and potatoes (all always piled up on the plates and with plenty of fat on the bottom). Result: four seconds left almost entirely on the plate. The prices have also increased considerably given that for what is described above plus two liters of low quality draft beer (€12/l), four bottles of water, 2 cans of coke, a sorbet (presented in a mini carafe of 1/ 4l, 2 bitters and 2 coffees we spent €284.00 which, divided by 7 diners, is just over forty euros per person. If at least we had eaten well... Finally, we had to wait to pay.
