A charming location on the northern bank of the Po River. Gazing at it brings to mind images of times gone by, seen in dramatized documentaries or in the Don Camillo and Peppone films. A beautiful place, with the wall beneath the patio depicting the floods that have occurred over the years. The quality of the food is excellent, with typical dishes from Mantua and the Po Valley. Finally, the service is exceptional. The owner, with his cheerfulness and slang, takes us back to times gone by. Thanks to Ester and Nicola for pointing us to your trattoria, and thanks to the owners who manage it like a jewel, with meticulous attention to detail.

We, former comrades, reunited after many years. We ate well, and the first courses were delicious and filling, and we even had seconds. The cold cuts were good, as were all the main courses, which were flavorful. I wasn't able to taste the actual wines because I was the driver for my group. But I saw some prestigious wines on display that I would have liked to try. The dessert I ordered (sbrisolona) was supposed to be accompanied by a bottle of Grappa. Yes, it arrived, but in a plain, unlabeled 33cl bottle. The contents were about four fingers from the bottom. We poured it into the water glasses we used during lunch; they didn't bring us the traditional glasses from which Grappa is sipped and shared among four or five people. It wasn't good service. I should also point out that I was at the head of the table, and the plates containing the first or second course remained in front of me for a long time before the waiter cleared them away. Considering that table service has gone up in price...! This was not a sign of efficiency. Unfortunately, considering it was a Saturday... there were people, yes, but the attentive waiter also has to be vigilant.

La Trattoria Bigiolla is my company's regular restaurant, and I usually visit it for company events and business trips. The ambiance is lovely and decorated with attention to detail. Besides the excellent food and service, the incredible hospitality is truly remarkable! A top recommendation in the Mantua area!
