27/08/2025: While wandering through the hills surrounding Bologna, we happened upon this charming village at lunchtime. We were hungry, so we stopped at this delightful trattoria, where the menu is mostly meat-based, but with a few vegetarian dishes. We had tortellini-filled meatballs for two, of course! Tortellini in broth, porcini mushroom orzotto, dessert, 1/2 liter of wine, coffee, water, and complimentary liqueur, for €40 each. Generous portions, fast service, and a rustic but well-maintained atmosphere! It's a place where you can find pieces reminiscent of years gone by (such as the 1980s ice cream poster). There's also an outdoor seating area. I highly recommend it.

29/08/2025: While passing through Bologna, I stopped at this place, which made me feel at home: the staff was kind, helpful, and professional. The risotto with parmesan and truffle was remarkable. Congratulations again to the entire staff.

26/08/2025: Discovered today on the recommendation of our hotel. Excellent restaurant in the old town, a little off the beaten track. Authentic local dishes. The cotoletta a la bolognese and the beef fillet with balsamic vinegar, arugula, and Parmesan are delicious. The wine by the glass is a Sangiovese, very good value for money. Good panna cotta for dessert. Very warm welcome, highly recommended.

30/07/2025: Pranzo squisito. Ho gustato un bollito misto abbondante e cucinato con tutti i crismi. Avrei gradito un pezzettino di cappone o di gallina, ma questa è una minuzia che non scalfisce la perfezione di questa portata. Onore allo chef che fa il bollito anche in estate! Ottimi anche il puré e la salsa verde freschissima. Il fiordilatte a seguire è il vero fiordilatte bolognese, un sapore che mi ha rimandato a ricordi d'infanzia. Anche il caffè è stato molto apprezzato: come dice il titolo, un pranzo perfetto fin nei minimi dettagli. Gentilissimi e super competenti sia la cameriera sia lo chef, che è stato così carino da uscire un attimo dalla cucina per fare due chiacchiere con me.

24/08/2025: After a morning spent exploring Marzabotto after a trip from Rimini, we had an excellent Sunday lunch at a farmhouse with a family atmosphere and truly well-prepared traditional food. Great prices, great quantities, and good quality. Our little four-legged friend was also welcomed. Highly recommended.

05/09/2025: Tortellini in broth and cutlet Bolognese (special mention: no cream!) are expertly prepared. The decor is that of a true trattoria, the atmosphere is discreet with pleasant background music, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I'll gladly return.

03/09/2025: Excellent family lunch. Everything. The pasta (gramigna, tortelloni), the lasagna, the cutlet. The pecorino with honey as a starter...The desserts were all delicious. Local wine at a very good price, in this case sparkling from the Pignoletto variety. Excellent treatment from the owner, despite starting to eat late (we came from the airport 😅) We were very comfortable 🙂

01/08/2025: We met up in Bologna for lunch with a friend of mine and decided to give this trattoria a try. The result was extraordinary. Authentic place, friendly service, excellent dishes with generous portions, and prices that seem to have never seen inflation.

20/08/2025: We had the tasting menu. Everything was good, but the star for us was the lemon tart. It tasted great, though we later realized there was no lemon curd. The crunch and the (mascarpone?) cream did all the work of delivering that lemon tart flavor. Stefano and Salvatore were super kind and even shared a few recipe hints.

31/08/2025: tortellini was fine but sauce was plain The lasagna texture was too soft Mascarpone cream was excellent, not the airy stiff kind, just cream texture, but seriously good and the chocolate works very well The mascarpone cream is worth a visit, the rest are average standard for bologna

24/08/2025: It never fails, even a short walk away from the touristy areas pays huge dividends. In this case, a short walk from the main square lands you at the doorstep of Osteria Santa Caterina. An incredibly friendly and helpful staff will guide you through a very typical menu for the region done very well. We had a wonderful meal and wish we could go back tomorrow.

30/07/2025: Stumbled upon this randomly. Loved it all. Wonderful food. Simple, affordable and extremely tasteful with quality ingredients. Filled with locals, definitely not a tourist trap. Regardless service was amazing. The waitress had great recommandations for us and showed great patience with my attempts to use the 3 words of Italian I know. We had the tortelloni with prosciutto, the lasagnas and the mushroom scallopine ai funghi. Loved having the ability to share entrees and have them split on our plate. 10/10 would go again

21/07/2025: We went here, late into our Bologna trip, with a party of people who had largely been to Bologna before. We just found this place on Google maps because it's close to the Santuario Madonna di San Luca This is undoubtedly the best dining experience we've had in this city. Exceptional food, some of the best house red anyone has ever had, great service, low-key family-run restaurant vibe, and extremely good value. Absolutely cannot recommend more highly enough. Utterly delicious food, plenty of vegetarian options (and for the meat eaters too). Everyone agreed we need to come back!

16/07/2025: Excellent, old farmhouse but well-kept inside, here the meat tasted, a fillet, simply perfect from the requested cooking to the flavor and tenderness, meat to eat without adding anything or losing the goodness, I recommend it to fine palates!

14/07/2025: We arrived by chance and were fascinated by the historic place 😍The owner and staff were polite, friendly and kind 😍 excellent food 😋 I recommend it and we will definitely return next time we pass by here☺️

31/08/2025: Reservations are absolutely essential, but definitely worth it. The service was attentive and friendly. The appetizer buffet was excellent, with a wide selection. We ordered balanzoni: delicious! The filling was substantial...not those tortelloni with more pastry than filling! They were served on a bed of delicious mixed cheese cream and white ragù. Definitely worth a try. For dessert, we ordered a super coffee cream, which actually had more mascarpone than coffee, delicious. At the end of the meal, they brought us cookies and liqueurs.
