I'm posting this review from TripAdvisor because I realized I've never posted it, but this place deserves praise.
I've been to this place for lunch a couple of times because the first time I found so many things to try and I had to come back... So, on both occasions, I've managed to eat
appetizers
- Mortadella mousse in fiordilatte, very good
- Tenderly fried egg, with Jerusalem artichoke cream, prosciutto crisps, chicory, and sour cream, good, but I was expecting something more, and in my opinion, the flavor of the chicory doesn't match the deliciousness of the dish
- Petronian-style signature skewers, with creamed carrots, radishes, mushrooms, and sweet and sour sauce, and here too, mortadella balls, good but nothing special
- Stewed baby octopus, with creamed sweet potato, burrata, olives, and confit tomatoes, and this dish could be exceptional, but in my opinion the olives ruin everything, covering up the flavor because they're so strong they're unpleasant.
For first courses, I'll try
- Tuffolo fumé, paccheri with robiola, smoked salmon, Creamy pear and saffron sauce, but here I'd say lots of smoke and no roast... The presentation is beautiful with the smoke coming out of the sphere, but all this description is for a salmon dish in which all the other ingredients are so minimal that you can't even taste them, so this dish is very disappointing.
-Tortelloni 2.0, with scallop ragù, walnuts, creamy apple sauce, and fried sage, and here I have to compliment you because it was very good.
-Risotto Acquerello with pigeon, foie gras, broccoli, and chocolate, but here too, the flavors are not bad, but I expected something more.
-Squash hats with calamari, coconut sauce, turmeric, and hazelnuts, very good, especially when eaten with the hazelnut cream, a great combination, but the coconut sauce should be a little more noticeable, but very good.
And for main courses:
-Winter duck with creamy pumpkin sauce, myrtle sauce, speck, radicchio, and blueberry, good but not a convincing dish.
-Cheek in Cavolata with black cabbage, raspberries, and Saba, very good, this dish also got a thumbs up.
So, as for the restaurant, it's small but very nice, and most importantly, centrally located.
Prices-wise, I'd say it's not a restaurant you can eat at every day. Finally, as for the service, I'd say the girls are always very kind and friendly. However, at my first lunch, I was satisfied with both the service and the timing, but at my second lunch, the service wasn't as perfect as at the first.
Anyway, it's a place worth considering because it's good and has so many dishes worth trying.
