Al Sangiovese In Bologna

Wonderful dinner, lovely wine (we asked for a recommendation and it was great), charming service and reasonably priced. The risotto with truffle and parmesan was a particular highlight - a really wonderful dish that I'll remember for a long time.

This is a delightful restaurant with an intimate dining area. The owners are very welcoming and provide excellent service with a personal touch. It was our first visit but we were welcomed like regulars. The food is excellent, clearly our best meal ever in Bologna. The wine list is sufficient and the prices are reasonable, with many fine wines in the 20 Euro range. The owner recommended an excellent red wine that cost 25 Euros

Vengo in questo ristorante in un paio di occasioni perché c’erano più cose che avrei voluto provare. Prendo alla prima volta una lasagna, un tortellino in brodo ed una cotoletta alla bolognese, conto finale €50, lasagna molto buona, anche tortellino buono, cotoletta un po’ meno e c’era dell brodetto sotto che a quanto pare tengono, come che secondo me rovina un po’, alla seconda prendo una tagliatella, una gramigna e delle polpette, anche stavolta sui 50€, tagliatelle con ragù un po’ troppo salato, la gramigna con la panna non l’avevo mai mangiata e non mi è molto piaciuta mentre polpette erano poco saporite, secche e c’era troppa passata di pomodoro a mio parere. Posto rustico, carino, personale molto molto cordiale, alla fine direi nella media

2016: We never ate here but heard it was great! 2023: Seven years later we did eat here and now we can confirm it is great!

It is 9 years since we last eat here and loved it, well last night we returned and we loved it again.it had some tourists, however the main customer base is local and it was busy, you have to book to get in. We shared the vegetable pie (soufflé) then the risotto (both very good) mains we had the bolognese veal and the beef fillet in Sangiovese (excellent) the wine was a very good red from Puglia, a fantastic meal and great service, what more can you ask for!
