19/05/2026: Really amazing traditional tagliatelle al Ragu and the desserts were fantastic!! Inside it feels like youve stumbled upon a palazzo with hidden treasures. Service was super friendly, owner came to chat with us and suggested us lovely wines! We will come back here for sure!

08/04/2026: Behind the bar? Amazing people, joyful, full of light! But I was sold a karaoke. Which was with tuned off mic, and the most despiseful karaoke manager. Not a smile, not a welcome, not a light in the eye. She was bored and depressed to be here. I wish her the best in life, but until shee's gone, this place is no good to go to. You will lose your will to live. Honestly, there are just that many better places to go to in Bologna.

28/05/2026: During my stay in Bologna to travel and practice my Italian, I accidentally discovered this beautiful restaurant this evening. It's near the church of Santiario di Santa Maria, and the view from the outdoor table was truly breathtaking! I came here alone for dinner and ordered the "Ricotta and spinach tortellacci with asparagus, toasted walnuts, and candied lemon." I loved it: the taste, the appearance, the combination of ingredients, the colors, and the owner's service. It was art. Everything was perfect. It was a fantastic experience!!

17/05/2026: Ristorante Nuova Roma is one of those restaurants that seem to belong to a slower time, with well-kept tables, relaxed conversations, and flavors that immediately bring you back to the most authentic Emilian tradition. The setting retains a very distinctive retro elegance: no modern excess, but rather the warm and sincere charm of old-fashioned dining rooms, where every detail seems to tell a story. Lunch began with an appetizer of crescentine accompanied by mixed cold cuts, cheeses, friggione, and pickles: a triumph of aromas and flavors. The crescentine were fragrant and light, perfect for sharing, while the rest was prepared with care and quality. It's one of those dishes that instantly put you in a good mood and make it clear that the cuisine here is taken seriously. We then continued with tagliatelle with ragù, rich in flavor and deeply rooted in Bolognese tradition: well-rolled pasta, enveloping sauce, and that reassuring taste that only certain cuisines still know how to deliver. But the dish that struck me most was the ricotta and spinach tortelloni with butter and gold: delicate, balanced, almost velvety on the palate. A seemingly simple dish, but crafted with a care that is evident in every bite. The menu's attention to seasonality is also evident, with dishes that change seasonally and highlight fresh, authentic ingredients. The service also deserves special mention: friendly, attentive, professional, but always discreet and natural. A restaurant that doesn't try to impress with special effects, but rather wins you over with authenticity, quality, and that nostalgic, elegant atmosphere that is increasingly rare today.

15/05/2026: We had a really lovely evening overall at Ristorante Nuova Roma. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff were beyond helpful, friendly and attentive throughout the night. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived and were always happy to help with recommendations and anything we needed. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars for the food is because I personally wasn’t very impressed with the pizza. The sauce and toppings lacked a bit of flavour for my taste. However aside from that the experience itself was very enjoyable and the service truly made up for it. A big thank you to the team for their kindness and hospitality it really made the evening pleasant and memorable.

10/06/2026: The service was terrible: they forgot our appetizers, first course, and main course; we had to call the waiter three times to remind him of our order. The wait was really long. The food was good, but nothing exceptional.

30/05/2026: We found what we were looking for: a simple yet welcoming place, with affordable prices, where you can also enjoy traditional dishes. We hit the mark. Beautiful place, authentic, tasty food: a simple (so to speak) tagliatelle with ragù was DELICIOUS, and so was everything else. Fairly priced, practically in the center of Bologna. Highly recommended.

17/05/2026: We wandered onto this restaurant and were so happy we did. The food was excellent. We had a delicious fresh pea puree with soft egg on top and scraped the bowl clean. There was a wonderful brodo made with chicken broth instead of meat. The tortellini were light and delicious. The service was friendly and fun. The maitre d' clearly enjoyed making people happy and seeing that the diners were taken care of. We sat outside in the small piazza and could not have been happier.

16/05/2026: A good restaurant, nothing more than that, the service is a bit problematic, you can find better restaurants, there aren't many options for those who don't eat white meat.

22/05/2026: The atmosphere is like a tavern... no problem, but it's definitely overrated by influencer posts and ads. The service was adequate, even if they forgot about us, and the food wasn't up to the standard of a tavern, especially considering the prices. I don't recommend it.

12/12/2025: November 21, 2025. Nothing to complain about the food, but there's a lack of transparency regarding prices. In fact, the website offers a price list with much lower prices, and even here, prices are slightly lower. Since my visit (I'm writing this on December 12), I've noticed that some users have uploaded photos of the menu taken at the restaurant, which, to be fair, I must say is up-to-date. I'll leave aside the "old and Italian" argument about "bread and cover charge," but I'd point out that the menu doesn't list the price of water, which, even though it's described as "machine-filtered," seems excessive to me (€3 for what appears to be a "transalpine carafe of water," which is always offered to customers).
