26/12/2025: A quaint mountain restaurant in Civitella Alfedena, all stone, with a fireplace and an indoor well. The owner and staff are very kind. The food is excellent... cheeses, game cured meats, delicious first courses, and excellent meats. The almond desserts are also delicious. Wonderful Christmas lunch 🎄.

30/11/2025: The food was poor, the arrosticini (which weren't listed on the menu, by the way; we asked if they were available) were tacky, full of oil, and extremely hard. The staff was unfriendly and even annoyed by our questions. I understand why there were only two seats in addition to our table. The bill was too high.

16/12/2025: We ordered an Abruzzo appetizer for two; the tartare was good, and the very salty mutton was worth a bottle of champagne. Unfortunately, our arrosticini were of terrible quality😏 (it smelled terrible 😞). As per the Michelin guide, it definitely didn't impress me at all. We paid in full without offering a coffee as an apology, so we didn't leave a tip. Never come back

13/01/2026: Truly a fabulous location. Professional and efficient service. The food quality, I'd say, is excellent. I think the value for money is fair given the location. I spent €46 for a plate of ricotta and spinach ravioli with cream, delicious porcini mushrooms, and truffle, a mixed roast with sausage, lamb, and provola (good quality meat), grilled vegetables, water, 1/4 cup wine, and a cover charge.

09/01/2026: Very nice place with a charming exterior. I ate there on a Sunday with friends. The dishes are very generous. The cost of lunch is average. For four adults and two children, eating two appetizers and six first courses, we spent €25 per person. The service is a bit slow.

30/12/2025: Reading the various reviews, I find myself perfectly aligned with the difficult, sometimes impossible, reservations. Unfortunately, often with less than friendly phone and in-person responses. Having made this necessary introduction, I can only say positive things about this restaurant, provided you manage to find a free table, which we did last winter, and by the most fortuitous of circumstances (after trying to book by phone for about a month). Every first and second course, the desserts, the wine list, everything is sublime. The reputation is well deserved. The village of Pescocostanzo, as you leave the restaurant, is absolutely enchanting in winter, and that adds to the picture. Update 12/29/2024 After multiple attempts to book, including in person, we were unable to eat. Update 12/30/2025 For the second year in a row, after repeated attempts, it is impossible to eat at this restaurant.

31/01/2026: Beautiful experience, 4 guys, we had a great time, we ate really well and felt at ease, appetizer (fried cheese, mixed bruschetta) and main course (2 pinsa, entrecote and meat) Everything was good, fair price. Compliments to the guy, excellent waiter 👏👏👏

04/12/2025: Nothing special. Lunch, just a first course, costs €16... too much, considering the online menu says a first course costs a maximum of €9. Not fair! They serve the first courses in an aluminum pot. In my opinion, it's inconvenient and unhygienic, as you have to use iron cutlery to pour the pasta onto your plate, and scraping the aluminum will result in a few splinters! A decent meal!

07/01/2026: A characteristic mountain atmosphere. This refuge, featuring a fireplace at the entrance and a large dining room with tables, offers refreshments, including polenta and other dishes between snowshoe hikes. I enjoyed an excellent hot punch at the end of the day. I highly recommend it.

06/01/2026: A quaint, charming refuge with a welcoming fireplace. The veranda, all made of wood and stone, houses the dining area. On busy days, they organize an efficient self-service restaurant with "social" tables (we also ate with another family, which was lovely). The cuisine is traditional and good. Prices are fair (about €15-20 per person). The bar also deserves a mention for its excellent hot chocolate, served with cream and biscuits, ideal for a cozy getaway, perhaps sitting by the fireplace.

05/12/2025: The restaurant is absolutely top-notch. The chef and owner pay great attention to the smallest details; even simple dishes always have a touch of quality and excellence. Service and courtesy are certainly not lacking. And what can I say if the chef personally comes to the table to make sure everything is fine?

02/01/2026: Top mix of Abruzzo and Piemonte. Do not expect the huge portions served elsewhere in the area. Still you will certainly not leave being hungry. The food is excellent and you will get the chance to reasonably digest it. Very quiet, scenic view from the outside.
