21/08/2026: Terrible experience, rude staff, overcooked arrosticini, and poor food. If you have dogs, don't go. They don't have water bowls, and the cats roam freely among the tables, which is unhygienic. Furthermore, they attack the dogs, who obviously must be on a leash and muzzled if aggressive, while the cats are fine to roam free and silent. I reply to the owner that to get out of this situation, he can only invent the dog's unhygienic behavior. Since the restaurant is his, he shouldn't blame the mayor; he should be concerned about who and what is roaming around there. If it was so much of a burden, giving us a drop of disinfectant could have added it to the already steep bill.

19/08/2026: The restaurant has a beautiful location, suitable for both groups and more romantic dinners. I recommend the outdoor terrace, especially on summer evenings. Since we don't eat meat, we opted for fried foods and cheeses as appetizers, all of which were good; and for a legume soup and tagliatelle with mushrooms, both dishes also received a thumbs up. The real problem is the service and the somewhat high prices (see €2.50 service charge per person, which is absolutely nonexistent). First of all, it's really difficult to contact them because they don't answer the phone. When we arrived, the welcome was cold. The waiters were distracted, but the staff were very kind and professional. When it came time to pay, the guy (the same one who welcomed us) didn't even smile, didn't ask how it went, and basically handed us the card without saying a word... It's a shame, because you often return to a restaurant not for the menu but for the welcome!

27/07/2026: There were four of us for dinner, and I recommend making a reservation. As for the food, the arrosticini (€1.10 each) and the three pizzas were truly excellent. The only disappointing aspect was the handling of the truffle tortellini: the order got lost, and our friend was left waiting and watching us eat the pizzas without his plate, which was truly unpleasant. After prompting the wait staff, the tortellini didn't arrive until the pizzas were almost finished. At the end of the meal, we tried the fruit verata (€7 each), but we weren't thrilled: it was too frozen, and for that price, we expected something more. I hope that in the future, there will be more attention to the wait staff and that desserts will be served at an appropriate temperature.

26/07/2026: We had the pleasure of visiting Il Carro with friends and were simply delighted. The appetizers, first courses, and second courses were spectacular. Even the dessert, with its realistic fruit, was an unforgettable experience. Excellent work, both in the kitchen and in the dining room!

La Taverna del Priore didn't seem like just a dinner, but a small journey: a slow journey from lead to gold, where lead is the traveler's hunger and gold is that rare sense of fullness that lingers even after dessert. We begin with appetizers that seem to recount the region without haste: small, carefully selected samples, tradition, textures, memories. From the creamy gratin to the more rustic flavors, to the notes of home cooking that still knows how to speak without the need for special effects. The first course arrives as a well-found balance: generous pasta, flavors that don't shout but make themselves heard. A cuisine that seems to say: "Relax, sit down. Here we really eat." Then the meat. The real thing. The kind that doesn't need masks. Soft, flavorful, accompanied with intelligence, with that reassuring sensation of a kitchen that knows the slow pace of preparations made with respect. And when you think you've already had enough, dessert arrives to remind you that the journey must end well: simple only in appearance, delicious without becoming heavy, almost a kind farewell. The difference, the real one, is made by the Prior of the Taverna, an attentive, kind, never intrusive presence. That rare form of hospitality that doesn't seem like service, but care. 28/04/2026: Knowing you'll eat well and be greeted with kindness isn't always a given. Here, the combination of good quality and traditional food is perfect. Chicken livers and Ascoli olives are highly recommended.

06/08/2026: This restaurant was truly a wonderful discovery, booked out of necessity while returning from a trip. You immediately sense that this is a place that invests in quality and cares about presence and a certain style, both understated and refined. What we tasted—the vegetarian appetizer, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, grilled meat, and arrosticini—were highly appreciated overall in terms of quality, quantity, management, and price. Definitely a great finish with a dessert rich in berries and a good coffee. The service was precise and noteworthy. The portions were not small at all, quite the opposite in fact. The table setting enhances everything. It's a shame we're not close enough to return soon, but it will definitely be a must-stop for a future trip to those parts of Abruzzo. Can we say "well done," if you haven't already understood?

03/03/2026: We ate divinely, the place was beautiful and the welcome was warm. The pizza dough was exceptional, light and easy to digest. The liver arrosticini were among the best around, they melted in your mouth. Highly recommended!

18/08/2026: We stayed for two nights on August 15th. The location was beautiful. The room was large, with air conditioning and mosquito nets. Our dog had a wonderful time, too. We didn't have lunch. The breakfasts were superb. Carla was fantastic and super! Highly recommended.

19/08/2026: It goes without saying that this is one of the best traditional restaurants in the area! Besides being located in the center of Pescocostanzo, the highlight is the warm welcome, helpfulness, kindness, and great efficiency of the entire service. The waiters are super friendly, approachable, helpful, and always on point. And let's not even get started on the food! The first courses are a delight, all handmade! The lamb chops were out of this world, perfectly cooked, with no signs of burning, and most importantly, you could taste the lamb perfectly. The price was perfectly in line with the amount of food we ate.

19/08/2026: I would have preferred not to give even one star, but Google is forcing me to! I've been trying to book at this restaurant for 15 days, but it's impossible because I only answer the phone for one hour a day from 11:00 to 12:00. If for some reason you can't make a reservation during that time slot, you can't book. In 2026, the age of AI, they don't have an alternative booking method, they don't have an email address, they don't have an updated website, and they don't have any agreements with any platforms. I finally manage to call at the scheduled time, and with no small amount of smugness, they tell me that from now until who knows when, there's no chance of a table for two people + one child! Situations that only occur in Italy, and now I understand why everyone prefers to go abroad.

26/06/2026: A family-run restaurant with high-quality products. The owners are exceptionally kind. Their attention to detail is unparalleled. The beef steak is a must-try, but the lamb and everything else are equally as delicious. If I could give it 10 stars, I definitely would. After your meal, you can relax on the deckchairs and loungers provided for guests.
