21/06/2025: Qué increíble experiencia fue, superó con creces mis expectativas. Fuimos a una clase de cocina y cata de vinos y la familia no podría haber sido mejor. Eran tan cálidos e invitando me recordó a mis cenas dominicales de la infancia. Nos alojamos en la costa de Amalfi y tomamos un taxi acuático a la hermosa ciudad de Maiori. Nuestro anfitrión, Aurelio, nos recogió en la ciudad y nos llevó al viñedo. Nos llevó a un breve recorrido por el viñedo y nos enseñó la historia de la propiedad, las vides y los vinos que se elaboraban a partir de las diferentes uvas. Una vez hecho el recorrido, nos trajeron a la zona del comedor donde conocimos a María (su madre) , su padre, y su hermana (mis disculpas por no recordar sus nombres) entonces fue correcto trabajar. Comenzamos con un aperitivo de salami fresco y queso y luego cocinamos carrozzo de berenjena con berenjena fresca de su jardín. El segundo plato fue lingüina casera con salsa de albahaca de tomate. Hicimos la pasta fresca con huevos de las gallinas de la propiedad, y la salsa con tomates y albahaca de su jardín. ¡EL MEJOR QUE HE TENIDO! Habíamos maridado cada plato con el vino recomendado y todo lo que perfeccionamos, terminamos comprando un estuche mixto para ser enviado de vuelta a casa. Terminamos la comida con un poco de Limoncello casero que Aurelio tuvo la amabilidad de compartir la receta con nosotros, luego nos llevó de regreso a Maiori donde tomamos el taxi acuático de regreso a nuestro hotel. Qué día tan increíble, no podíamos dejar de sonreír. En mi próxima visita a la región sin duda volveré a visitar Basileo!

26/08/2025: In the beating heart of 'e Saliern', Salernum, Salerno, in the true soul of a city that is not the glossy one of unsung glitter but that of the historic center and sincere roots, the noble and popular Duca welcomes with simplicity and popular grace those who wish to taste the typical dishes of our cuisine. I found myself in the happy company of close friends and family, compliments to the kitchen and the service staff, giving 'a magna', taking care of a basic need like this, is too beautiful, and at the Duca it is done with a smile, going up and down the stairs in this historic building, from the ground floor room to the terrace, with the aromas of mussels, the Duca's scialatiello, the fried 'e paranza, the pizzas, with house wine and Peroni, at a fair and familiar price, because that's what it's all about: offering hospitality in a simple way, without frills, and saying goodbye with a smile, a handshake, a goodbye, and a thank you. Thank you, guagliu'. n.b. for those who like precision: 1 scialatiello del Duca (scialatielli, cream, provola, bacon, tomato sauce) 1 Sorrento style dumpling 1 marinara pizza 2 meatballs with Neapolitan ragù 2 large ores 2 large fibulas about €45, everything is very good, long live Salerno, the real one.

17/08/2025: The food is delicious and reasonably priced. However, the service was abominable. The table that was offered to us hadn’t been cleaned. We waited more than an hour for our order. Truly not worth it.

04/07/2025: Everything was great, except for the friendliness of the window clerk on the street. Already when I was in line I saw unfriendly attitudes towards girls who could have been her daughters, but I realized that it is a routine attitude since she had it also with me who am an adult and I "allowed" myself to ask an extra question (the waiting times for a calzone)! Having said that, I am sorry but those who are in contact with the public (and especially with children and teenagers) have the duty - it would not be a bad vocation - to be kind, patient and polite!

21/08/2025: I stayed one night at this hotel. Booking was easy, just a phone call. The staff was very friendly. I ate in their restaurant, the service was very fast, and the food was good. It's a shame that the bathroom in the room was unusable, both the shower and sink needed renovations. The bidet was missing, and a wall light near the bed didn't work. The air conditioning worked perfectly.

03/08/2025: We're regulars at this wonderful place. First and foremost, the owner is incredibly kind; you feel right at home. The menu offers everything. The meat is especially delicious and top-quality. The pizzas are also excellent. The cantucci are a must-try. They're served hot at your table. I recommend going.

02/09/2025: A wonderful experience! The restaurant has a spectacular view of the temples of Paestum, truly breathtaking, especially at sunset. The food is excellent, with generous portions, well-prepared, and made with fresh ingredients. You can taste the passion in the kitchen. The staff is friendly and helpful, always smiling. The prices are more than fair considering the quality and unique location. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Paestum: the food is good and the atmosphere is special!

14/08/2025: I've seen the management change several times. This place has seen its ups and downs over time, but it seems to have returned to its origins. The sandwiches are delicious, the staff is friendly. It's the place I recommend most to Scafati when you want a sandwich for lunch or dinner.
