10/08/2024: We had just arrived in the city, on Monday, July 8, lunchtime. We started looking for a restaurant but didn't see many open, possibly because it was Monday. We found this one and saw on the facade that its hours were from 12:30 to 15:00. I went in and asked if there was a free table for 2. It was 2:10 p.m. They told us yes. We ordered a starter, just one. Two first courses of pasta and a bottle of wine. At 2:25 p.m., the room manager said goodbye to the sommelier, in front of the 3 tables occupied in the dining room, and left. At 2:27 p.m., the diners at one table left. At 2:35 p.m., the people at the other table left. At 2:40 p.m. the sommelier told us that the kitchen was closed and that we would not be able to order desserts. At 2:45 p.m. I ordered coffee because the sommelier was looking at his wristwatch like he was Nicholas Cage, in an exaggerated and histrionic way. At 2:53 p.m. we were already outside, after having eaten our dishes, drank two coffees, and left 4 fingers of wine in the bottle because Nicholas Cage was getting on my nerves. Siamo dei Paesi Bascchi, we are used to good cuisine. The one in this restaurant is correct, nothing more.

07/08/2024: Truly a beautiful discovery in Roccella Ionica, facing the sea! We had a very good mixed seafood starter which also included delicious fried foods. The first courses were very good and the frying, as well as being well done, was really plentiful (as were the other courses). Apart from the (house) wine served lukewarm, we were also VERY satisfied with the value for money. Varied menu of fish and meat. I recommend it if you love fish! I'll be back very soon!!!

20/08/2024: The food is good....for everything else..... -> Waiters and owner with sweaty shirts, disgusting. -> The service - same as previous years - disorganized. Whoever goes out into the room with the dishes returns to the kitchen with the plates, glasses, used cutlery... but no... they come and go in the room but the tables remain as they left them for a long time the customers. They must be removed immediately to make room for the new customer. -> the waiting times until the First One arrives... you have to wait quite a while. This is my second review - now in Italian because Google perhaps didn't translate the first one well (German). But nothing changes. Il bacco di Vino does not accept negative reviews which - to improve - should take them as a challenge. I don't think we will go back there next year. Nothing changes anyway. We eat well, yes. But go without hunger, without expectations and with lots of time.

28/08/2024: An essential stop for anyone visiting Gerace. It offers one of the best granitas on the Ionian coast in Calabria. The portions are very generous at fair prices for the quality offered (6 euros for the average one). Brioche not as exceptional as the granita but still good and quality. The ice cream is also excellent (fabulous pistachio flavour). Strange that the small granita costs only 50 cents less than the medium one. All granitas are served with a kind of cream puff that resembles brioche tuppo.

27/08/2024: Wonderful location and stop at the Bar del Tocco with fabulous granitas, friendliness and kindness. Not recommended stop... MANDATORY!!!

24/11/2023: 5 of us had dinner in this family-run restaurant, the starter was exceptional and complete, a menu chosen by the chef with around ten dishes typical of the Calabrian area, excellent tagliolini with truffle and gnocchi with caciocavallo fondue and cruschi peppers, particularly and the only dessert is a sphere of sponge cake with a truffle chocolate ganache inside. Excellent value for money. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
