24/03/2025: The lady is very kind and the pizzas are good with the specialty of wholemeal pizza and pulled pizza. Fairness and other times.

01/10/2025: I wouldn't go back even if I were starving. The waitress, who I believe was also the owner, practically dictated what we were eating when we ordered. When I asked for the menu, she got irritated and replied, "You find menus in dives; here I only give you fresh food." She also started criticizing her age, saying, "How old are you? I'm 20 years older than you, you don't have to teach me how to run a restaurant." I tried to reply politely, "Excuse me, but why do you have to decide what I should eat? You're not offering me a meal; I'm paying for a service, and I just want to know what's available so I can choose according to my taste." As we continued with our order, we were told that she could only prepare a mixed appetizer and a single first course for everyone because a nearby table had booked earlier and "they needed to focus on them." An absurd reason, to say the least. I didn't want to reply or get up and leave, simply out of respect for the colleagues I was dining with: from that moment on, I remained silent. As if that weren't enough, I saw the same woman smoking in the next room, right near the cash register and the kitchen. Unacceptable. And to conclude: 5 appetizers, 8 first courses, 3 250ml Cokes... total €250. A terrible experience from every perspective: unprofessional, no freedom of choice, an environment with no respect for rules, and an exorbitant bill.

21/09/2025: Paid 54 euros for two starters, two first courses and water, nothing special, honestly the starter was of poor quality, I don't understand the price, given that on the menu I would have paid less, I won't be returning, the positive thing is the service, the waiters were super kind and courteous, shame about the rest

31/08/2025: La Tavernetta is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The owners, Pierino, the chef, and Giovanna, the head waiter, are spectacular and impeccable. Every item on the menu is excellent. The Calabrian appetizers are the best; I recommend it to anyone who's never tried them. The pizzas are, well, for me, the best pizza in the world.... The pastas, all homemade, are delicious. And the meats, which I've only tried once because I can't stop ordering pizza, are also phenomenal. This restaurant has been a symbol of Calopezzati since I was a child, and it's always been one of my go-to places. You can usually find them open around 1 a.m. for a quick pizza, returning from a night out. People who complain about the long waits don't understand that good food takes time, and since it's a very large restaurant with a relatively small kitchen, they do what they can. I've never minded having to wait for a pizza from Pierino!! The service is fast, drinks come out quickly, and appetizers too. What more could you ask for?

08/09/2025: The location is lovely, offering a beautiful view of the Tropea sea. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young man, but unfortunately, the man taking our orders arrived as soon as we were seated, rushing us, making it impossible to choose our dishes. He was also quite annoyed. Despite everything, we ate reasonably well, except for the first course, which, strangely, arrived less than five minutes later, so we assumed it was already ready. The tuna steak with onion was good, but I would pay more attention to the plating.

03/09/2025: I'll be brief because I almost never leave negative reviews, but I didn't feel like a tourist here, so I had to warn you. As soon as we arrived, they told us the starters weren't available. We asked for the tuna steak to be cooked more, which was brought without asking us how cooked it was. They said no because they had already closed the kitchen. 3 PM? Maybe 3:30 PM max? I asked to charge my phone and was told, "Madam, we're about to close, remember to take it back." So, a 5-minute charge was a blessing. Then they hadn't even asked for coffee yet, and the cashier lady, as she passed by, asked me to settle the bill because they were closing the counter. 😐 Well, now tell me, in a seaside place like Tropea, should tourists be served like this? I gave it 3 stars only for the view and the food, otherwise I would have given it 1 or 2 stars at most.

06/09/2025: We had cocktails: very low-quality liquor and bad flavor. Undrinkable. As a reward, they offered us a coffee, which we declined. No, don't order cocktails here. And don't even order the platter they offer with them: everything was straight from the freezer. Terrible.

07/04/2025: Locale molto buono, con interessante menù di carne e di pesce. Siamo stati molto bene e, malgrado fosse affollato, il servizio è stato efficiente e veloce.

11/10/2025: Just left McDonald's, it was a crowded night, the service was sub-par, and the employees were sweeping under people's feet with wet brooms. Very poorly managed and very dirty. Too bad... I reluctantly wouldn't recommend it.

07/10/2025: If you like the smell of dirty diapers. Lack of hygiene as in all fast food restaurants. Children's area excessively dirty, terrible air circulation.

02/09/2025: Truly excellent, both the owner and the young man who works there are friendly and quite helpful. The pizza is truly excellent, both stuffed and Margherita. I recommend the 4 Formaggi, which is really good. The free cover charge is also nice and convenient, so you really get what you pay for. Recommended for both families and solo travelers. That said, I'll be back as soon as I can.

08/10/2025: We visited for the first time on Saturday to visit the passionately organized insect and butterfly exhibition. The park is huge, well-maintained, and has several attractions for children. We'll be back.

04/09/2025: The place is located in a fairytale natural setting, practically attached to the picturesque olive tree rock, and this is the main feature. It's a shame, however, that the spaces of the structure are very retro and poorly maintained, as are the rooms. Overall, we were welcomed well, although perhaps given the tiredness of the end of the season, we had an adequate approach. My advice is not a criticism. It would take very little to improve and enrich the structure and offer more modern comforts in step with the times, given the current cost line.

19/08/2025: I had dinner at this restaurant, mostly seafood-based. I'd particularly like to mention the struncatura with local tuna, a generous portion and exceptional quality—a must-try! The spaghetti with clams was excellent, and the pizza was excellent! The unparalleled view of the Scoglio dell'Ulivo and the sound of the waves provide a splendid backdrop. Recommended.
