29/10/2025: This restaurant is underrated, so disregard the rating. The owner is a charming man who loves his work and is attentive to his guests. We chose several appetizers to sample: a tasting of olive oils (for enthusiasts or those new to olive oil), an excellent octopus salad, and a platter of local charcuterie.
The main courses are varied and offer something for everyone. That day, they featured specialties with mushrooms from Matera and lamb tataki (a marvel!). The desserts are also excellent. But above all… the wine cellar! Housed in a former cistern in the city, the wine list is a veritable encyclopedia! Highly recommended.

11/07/2025: Consigliato da amici andiamo alla scoperta di questo ristorante in quanto cercavamo delle pietanze tipiche locali, che riportassero ai sapori di una volta, quelli della cucina tradizionale, tramandata ma rivisitata in chiave moderna.
Locale accogliente e ben curato, personale cortese e fiero di spiegare il piatto, materia prima.di ottima qualità e bontà indiscutibile.
Sui dessert, "il Cestino del Barisano" vale di nuovo una visita al locale.

Accueil chaleureux, service impeccable, fraîcheur de la salle intérieure troglodyte très appréciée par jour de canicule (et sinon il existe aussi une jolie terrasse ombragée). Mention spéciale pour le dessert (photo) typique de Matera : le Cestino del Barisano : une mousse de ricotta légère et pas trop sucrée, avec purée de fruits frais et amandes grillées, dans une pâte croustillante, c’est à tomber par terre …

10/10/2025: While I was waiting for the girl to wrap the bread I ordered, three flies crawled unharmed over the croissants and focaccia, while the employee remained indifferent. The sight was very disturbing.
I gave one star so that my review would be published. I wouldn't have given any stars.

16/08/2025: Good restaurant specialised in fish dishes. Depending on the day they have fresh fish. Pastas are good, lot of mussels dishes. Price are medium high. Service is friendly and fast. Restroom is not as nice as the rest of restaurant. Wine offer is wide maybe too much high priced bottles. Desserts are great, coda di aragosta is amazing!
