19/09/2025: Nice place right in the center, excellent food, nothing to complain about. I'd give it 5 stars only if... I'd give it 5 stars if I'd found a girl at the counter who knew how to make coffee or her job of welcoming customers, and not a model. We arrived and asked two questions to eat and sit down... like talking to a well-dressed mannequin... We found ourselves with a beautiful girl, perhaps too beautiful for her place; in fact, as mentioned, she should have a different job. Things weren't any better with her colleague who was waiting tables; she looked like her sister; maybe a little more smile wouldn't have gone amiss. The situation was saved by their colleague, who did the job for both of them (luckily). If it were up to them, the place would already be closed.

20/04/2025: Cena per 6, cibi eccezionali cucinati con gusto. Abbiamo preso lo stracotto in crosta, le zuppe, due primi con pezzenta di maialino e pomodorini, vino, dolci. Ogni piatto dal più semplice al più complesso era gustoso e lavorato bene. Le materie prime si sentivano di prima qualità. Costo totale euro 100. Molto soddisfatti. Personale gentile. Servizio ottimo.

19/04/2025: Sono tornata al paese per una visita con una mia zia che è di Irisna e mio marito che è di Napoli e ci siamo fermati alla trattoria Nigent dopo aver letto le recensioni online. La signora Gigia è una padrona di casa eccellente e ha saputo consigliarci bene per provare i piatti tipici della tradizione lucana senza strafare. Tutti prodotti locali freschi, di elevata qualità e piatti davvero ben preparati. I dolci della signora Gigia sono stratosferici e preparati con ingredienti freschissimi, e si sentiva. Il locale è molto ben arredato con elementi tipici Irisnesi che lo caratterizzano con eleganza senza strafare. Anche i vini e i liquori preparati dalla Signora Gigia e Mario erano davvero molto buoni. Esperienza da ripetere la prossima volta che torniamo al paese.

09/09/2025: We had pizza and panuozzo at their sandwich shop during a holiday in Calvello. We had a wonderful meal, excellent products... The staff was also polite and helpful... I highly recommend it!

11/10/2025: We stayed at Borgo la Tana during the two central weeks of August. The property is beautiful, with well-kept gardens and spacious rooms—ours, a mini-apartment—with a small table and chairs outside to enjoy the cool evening breeze. The rooms are extremely clean and practical, equipped with drying racks, handy soap dispensers for both shower and hand soap, and a wall-mounted hairdryer. The entire staff was very friendly, from the cleaning ladies, always ready with a smile and ready to "fix" the mess on the beach, like sand and pebbles everywhere, to the waiters, who were also present but not pushy. The cuisine is varied, with both local and non-local meat and fish dishes, and there is a discreet and efficient restaurant manager who oversees the main meals. The property's true treasure, however, is Mr. Aldo, a man in love with his homeland, provided us with information on the main beaches to visit and any special offers available at the resorts, right from the first evening. He also provided pocket-sized brochures to take with us to reach our desired destinations. Finally, a special mention for the self-service breakfast we enjoyed every morning: homemade cakes, traditional pastries, fresh figs picked every morning, and honeycomb! 23/09/2025: We arrived as guests for a few nights. The rooms were excellent, clean, and the air conditioning worked well. On the first evening, we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. It was tidy and the service very friendly. For us, it was very bright, which perhaps made the atmosphere a little less romantic. You can clearly see what you're eating. Both the tuna and the swordfish were overcooked and dry, but that might be due to the Southern Italian way of preparing them. For hotel guests, there's a breakfast buffet next to the pool. When we arrived, we thought it was a sandwich shop, but you can point to what you want and it's brought to you. Again, the service was very friendly. Swimming caps were required for the pool, an old Italian tradition we've encountered less and less frequently, this year only at Borgo La Tana.

21/08/2025: The atmosphere is dated, with a large white dining room; clean but informal. The staff is very friendly, the food is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely return.

19/06/2025: Da piccolino siamo ritornati con amici americani e francesi abbiamo pranzato sotto al gazebo. con un panorama sui boschi che ti regalava pacatezza e serenità, mentre il tavolo man mano si riempiva di prelibatezze , di profumi che rievocano le nostre nonne.. nell’ aria aleggiavano profumi e musica . Il signor Piccolino ha omaggiato la mia amica americana con il suono di una vecchia fisarmonica e… tutti abbiamo ballato.. Un luogo magico, tra i magnifici boschi di una pura Basilicata!

The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, always attentive to guests' needs. The location is truly charming, characterized by a peaceful atmosphere and enchanting views. A place that combines hospitality, quality, and authenticity. Highly recommended.

15/09/2025: My wife and I went to this restaurant yesterday for lunch. The place is rustic and welcoming, but the invasive presence of flies in the dining room makes it annoying. The food is good, but the service is very, very slow. The menu is very difficult to see because it's hung on the wall, and you have to get up from your table to read it. The prices are fair, and the parking lot is limited and inconvenient.

05/09/2025: I had the best experience in Matera at this bakery! Patrizia and her sisters are the best and they welcomed me with open arms and let me sign up for an amazing bread-making lesson I'll never forget! I also learned about the history of the famous Matera bread, and we had a tasting of different focaccia, wine, and pastries. I will be back to try everything in this bakery!

31/08/2025: We ate on a panoramic terrace with a spectacular view. Excellent sausage, eggplant, salad, and ricotta tart. We returned two days later. Same table, same view. Falagoni calzone with potatoes and onions as an appetizer. Frizzuli as a first course: handmade pasta with a mixed meat tomato sauce and breadcrumbs. Ricotta and chocolate tart. Everything was excellent, and the lady serving the tables was very friendly.
