26/05/2025: My favorite bakery in Matera, tradition meeting the modern approach. We did a bread experience with a group from Canada and USA, it helps to understand better the story of Matera. Love to see 2 woman/2 sisters, Patrizia e Sabrina running this bakery, it is refreshing. My favorite is the focaccia with sausage, peperone crusco, cime di rapa and the bread of course. Can’t wait to come back! Grazie

16/04/2025: Tuvimos una experiencia de panificación programada para nuestra familia. Las mejores partes eran el panadero, Enzo, y el propietario. Enzo fue muy amable y paciente con todos nosotros, especialmente nuestros hijos. Ojalá tuviéramos más tiempo con él. La propietaria, disculpas por no saber su nombre, fue una anfitriona maravillosa, sirviéndonos vino y hermosa focaccia y terminando con maravillosos dulces de almendra. Sin embargo, faltaba experiencia en panadería. La masa de pan fue preparada para nosotros, la manejamos por un corto tiempo, y Enzo nos mostró cómo colocarla en un horno. Eso fue todo: Sin hacer masa, sin hornear habría estado bien preparar más masa y trabajar con un horno encendido, y no frío. Tengo medidas de seguridad, pero hay que añadir más a la experiencia. Denisa, (así que) nuestra guía, mostró tres diapositivas en la sala de estar, un tazón de trigo y un tazón de harina. Eso fue todo. Había docenas de diapositivas que nunca vimos y muy poca explicación del proceso de horneado y su historia. Nos sentamos y escuchamos sus historias de vida personal y fuimos corregidos numerosas veces en nuestra pronunciación de palabras italianas. Un enfoque más amable habría sido preguntarle si podía compartir esa información. Uno de los niños dijo que la masa de focaccia sabía a masa de pizza. Una vez más, un duro sabelo todo responde a un niño de nueve años que las dos cosas no son lo mismo. Algo de amabilidad y tacto están en orden aquí. Fue muy incómodo durante la mayor parte de la visita, y a 275 euros para los siete de nosotros, definitivamente no vale la pena a ese costo.

27/07/2025: Quando due amici materani ti consigliano un ristorante, sai che vai sul sicuro. Ma quando il nome è così curioso, "Il Falco Grillaio", la curiosità si accende ancora di più. Sarà per via dei falchi grillai che sorvolano i cieli di Matera? Non lo so, ma so che questo nome così particolare è solo l'inizio di un'esperienza culinaria davvero speciale. Appena varchi la soglia e ti accomodi, vieni accolto da un'atmosfera che ti fa subito capire che non sei in un ristorante qualsiasi. È un incrocio magico tra il profondo rispetto per la tradizione lucana e una ventata di innovazione che rende ogni piatto una scoperta. La vera magia, però, risiede nella passione che Nunzio e il suo staff mettono in ogni gesto. Si percepisce la cortesia sincera, la cura maniacale per ogni dettaglio, la competenza che traspare in ogni consiglio e, soprattutto, la dedizione alle materie prime di altissima qualità, maneggiate con rispetto e maestria. Abbiamo gustato piatti che raccontano la storia di questa terra, ma con un tocco contemporaneo che ne esalta sapori e profumi. E con una buona bottiglia di vino, consigliata con altrettanta passione, la serata è volata via tra chiacchiere e sorrisi. Situato in pieno centro a Matera, "Il Falco Grillaio" è una perla rara. Non solo lo consiglio vivamente a chiunque cerchi un'esperienza gastronomica autentica e raffinata, ma sono già pronto a tornarci per esplorare tutti quei piatti che, ahimè, non sono riuscito ad assaggiare in questa prima, indimenticabile, visita. Preparatevi a volare alto con il gusto!

05/06/2025: We have been going to this restaurant for years now and the quality is always the same, perhaps even improved, especially for the meat. The arrosticini are excellent, especially the mutton and liver. You must try their chocolate bars with always new flavors. The owners and waiters are always kind.

29/06/2025: not recommended. after several times always quite normal, today June 29, 2025, the pseudo myth of the cascinale collapsed, very poor quality of preparation (perhaps those who cook do not taste), a place famous for the availability of the owners and for the quantity of dishes, was denied, very small portions, the waitress I believe is also the owner justified herself by saying that they had all booked at the last minute, naturally I told her that they should not have taken so many reservations if they did not have food for everyone, to which in response I was told that I could have eaten a sandwich on the pollino, and I pointed out to her that a sandwich would certainly not have cost € 70 (which is what we paid for that stuff for two people), naturally this was the last time they saw us and what's even more... curious is that only today there were two of us, usually we are 10/12 people. obviously they will not see my friends anymore either. an ego check is needed every now and then.

19/06/2025: Da piccolino siamo ritornati con amici americani e francesi abbiamo pranzato sotto al gazebo. con un panorama sui boschi che ti regalava pacatezza e serenità, mentre il tavolo man mano si riempiva di prelibatezze , di profumi che rievocano le nostre nonne.. nell’ aria aleggiavano profumi e musica . Il signor Piccolino ha omaggiato la mia amica americana con il suono di una vecchia fisarmonica e… tutti abbiamo ballato.. Un luogo magico, tra i magnifici boschi di una pura Basilicata!

07/07/2025: Very good sandwiches, we tried the one with sweet sausage and also with horse meat. Chips 🔝, fresh and not the classic frozen ones. Good house wine and also the draft beer. Cheap price, the total for all this stuff and a coke zero was €20. Friendly staff, open and clean terrace.

02/07/2025: Is it possible that the opening hours of the place cannot be known, closed at two in the afternoon, I had come with such illusion. Correction When I pass by Policoro again I will stop by to eat something since now the hours have been updated. Expectations are high.

15/06/2025: Beautiful location and very welcoming located in the Pollino park a few km from the sanctuary. Kind and helpful owners and staff. Very genuine local food. We have been there several times and will return again.

01/08/2025: Pur evidenziando l’indubbia ed eccellente qualità delle portate, quello che rende la cena indimenticabile è la professionalità, l’attenzione ai dettagli e la cortesia di tutto il personale. Il cliente è davvero messo al primo posto e viene attenzionato e coccolato per accompagnarlo attraverso un’esperienza impareggiabile. Questo ristorante è davvero una perla rara.

31/07/2025: Una cena perfetta. Pesce ottimo e servizio impeccabile. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati dal primo istante sino alla fine della nostra cena. Peccato solo non sia ubicato a Bergamo! Professionalità al top e un'empatia purtroppo ormai sempre più rara nella ristorazione.

09/07/2025: We just went to the ice cream shop, it was a disgrace, we asked for a tub of Nutella, black cherry and lemon to take home, they make us a tub and we take it home, we open the package and instead of Nutella there is dark chocolate but we ask ourselves is it so difficult to understand!!
