18/05/2026: Well, what can I say... Sant'Agata is our favorite restaurant! If it were close to home, we'd go at least once a month. We travel a long way, but it's the only restaurant we always enjoy stopping at. The appetizers are plentiful and of the highest quality, with many truly exceptional typical Lucanian products. They also have Aglianico wine, and anyone who loves red wine but hasn't tried it yet should definitely try it! The staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming. Perhaps the only thing I'd update are the chairs, because they're not very comfortable, but otherwise, in my opinion, there's no better restaurant in the area. I hope it stays this way. See you in July 2026! :)

05/09/2025: I had the best experience in Matera at this bakery! Patrizia and her sisters are the best and they welcomed me with open arms and let me sign up for an amazing bread-making lesson I'll never forget! I also learned about the history of the famous Matera bread, and we had a tasting of different focaccia, wine, and pastries. I will be back to try everything in this bakery!

08/10/2025: We were very happy that we stumbled into this restaurant, and that it was open during the siesta time . Very friendly, great atmosphere, the food was very very good. What I love the most- the burger was without the bun. Great!!!! And fried potatoes were absolutely delicious

07/04/2026: We had a wonderful experience on Easter Monday 2026! We were four adults and a two-year-old child, and we had a truly wonderful time. The food was delicious, and the staff was patient, kind, and truly talented. There are so many animals—peacocks, cows, donkeys, ponies, horses, chickens, pigs, and bunnies—that make it perfect for both adults and children. The farm-style play area and outdoor relaxation area are also lovely. An ideal experience for families; we'll definitely be back!

24/12/2025: A nice small restaurant in Matera center amongst the touristic areas. The food was quite tasty and the people were super friendly. Considering the touristic nature of the place the restaurants are quite pricy you pay more invariably and this place is similar. Considering that they serve authentic local Cuisines and food was good it is recommended.

05/10/2025: Super nice and super delicious! We had the orecchiette al ragu and tagliolini al tartufo lucano. I really don't understand the negative reviews! I would definitely come back here!

03/05/2026: Truly special! A RESTAURANT WITH A SIGHT TO BE SIGHT We had pizza that was absolutely delicious – simply perfect. Afterward, we moved to the bar and had a long chat with the bartender about the city and its culture, which completely changed the atmosphere of the evening. But a real highlight is that the restaurant has a staircase leading down to an old underground water cistern. Locals used to collect their water here – it gives the place a unique ambiance.
