Trattoria Lucana In Matera

The place is very nice, the food is excellent, but the service from the waiters was very bad. They claim to understand, but they don't. Even with the translator, I realized they don't know Italian or English well, much less Spanish. I asked for sugar-free food, just fruit, and they gave it to me with sugar on top. I sent it back, and they brought it back washed off; it wasn't even a repair.

Excellent food, but the service management leaves much to be desired The quality of the food is undoubtedly high: truly delicious and well-prepared dishes. Unfortunately, however, the overall experience was marred by the poor customer and staff management. The owners were unwelcoming, and we were disappointed to see them scold a waiter in front of us. Furthermore, despite having specified at the beginning that we would order the second course after the first course, when it came time to order them, we were told that the kitchen was now closed, without one of the owners (who knew we wanted to order the second course) having informed us in advance. A real shame, because the food is well worth the effort, but the service and atmosphere are equally important. I give it 3 stars, which potentially could have been 5.

The Lucanian specialties made it a pleasant evening, it deserves to be a 5 star restaurant

The Sugo di nonna misto and baked potatoes with bread were delicious! The tiramisu was scrumptious. I found the atmosphere among the servers a bit tense and cold.

Okay, express dishes but I expected better

Great food but not very friendly to tourists. Some of the staff were kind but some were very unprofessional and not very pleasant or helpful.
