The food was special, made with dedication and passion, the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was calm. One of my best experiences was there, where the Chefs: Stefano, Benedeto and Lorenzo were the best 👌

02/06/2026: This was our second time here. First time was 7 years ago and was much better. This time the service was awful. The guy who served our table didn’t offer a wine list and took our food order first and when I asked him about the wine list he said he’ll bring it after the food order is placed as if it was a normal practice. I tried their Menu a Mano Libero for €65 which included three random appetizers + a choice of main + desert. My wife ordered one main a la carte and two french fries for the kids. If we were to order the exact same items from the menu a la carte, the total cost would be €107. They gave us a check for €130 for food, which was adjusted down after I brought up the concern but followed by some rude explanation from the server. I’ve never received a desert which was supposed to be included in the Menu a Mano Libero. When we tried ordering a second round of french fries or some other version of potatoes, the server refused claiming the chef will not do it because it’s too late (was around 14:30) and it will take 30 minutes to make (first order of fries took 20 minutes at most). Overall poor service considering the Michelin designation. Aside from service, we were disappointed by the dated interior as nothing was invested in the restaurant over the past 7 years, some decor elements have disappeared. It’s not a very pleasant atmosphere and I wouldn’t be back.

23/04/2026: I've been going to Al Cardinale for many years, and for me it remains the absolute best restaurant in the area. The food is truly excellent—every dish is a delight! A special thanks to Pasquale: his service is impeccable, attentive, and very friendly. He makes you feel welcome right away and always in good hands. For me, it's clearly the number one. Highly recommended!

28/04/2026: Hmmm, it can improve and return to how it once was. As for the service, I was about to give it one star because one of the waiters was a bit sloppy, not wearing a uniform, and it seemed like he didn't enjoy serving. I've also worked in the restaurant business and was always smiling, even in the worst of times. The decor needs improving. The food is okay, but a little more character in the dishes wouldn't hurt. I'm confident it can improve. I still recommend going for the mussels and other delicacies.

07/06/2026: We went to the sailing ship for dinner, looking for a restaurant serving authentic traditional Ligurian cuisine. We found a fantastic place with highly qualified staff who truly made us feel at home. They treated my young son especially well. The food is wonderful, and the ingredients are truly top-notch, with fresh, authentic ingredients expertly prepared. We were pleasantly surprised by the value for money. We'll be back soon. Highly recommended.

31/05/2026: Very nice place, friendly staff and good choices on the menu. Anchovies we're delicious as we're the risotto and fresh pasta with prawns. Wine was good and good value. All round a very tasty meal.

07/06/2026: June 6, 2026 Prices are too high for this type of bar. Four of us paid €23 for three coffee creams and a tea in a commercial-style bottle. It's fine to be in a tourist resort and overlooking the sea, but in my opinion these prices are too high... and people are running away from Lignano.

03/06/2026: The place is wonderful and the staff is really friendly. I was there last week and had a really good time. The best thing about this place, in my opinion, is that you can literally eat and drink while overlooking the sea. We tried two spritzes and they were really good, and the accompanying fries were really appreciated. I also tried a chocolate crepe and it wasn't bad, the only thing was that it had too much powdered sugar. Other than that, everything was really good and delicious. The two girls who served us were very kind and really quick to help us.

22/05/2026: We recently inaugurated our cultural association based in Battiati and had the pleasure of relying on the catering services of Caffè Battiati. The Gattanos, owners of the café, personally took care of everything and did it impeccably. Both the service and the quality of the catering were excellent, so much so that we received many compliments for our choice. We will certainly rely on Caffè Battiati again. We sincerely thank the Gattanos for the success of our inaugural event.

12/04/2026: Lunch in the hills. A beautiful estate nestled among the vineyards, a restaurant with a B&B and pool. We only tried the restaurant for lunch, preferring the à la carte menu rather than the tasting menu. We had the good-quality meat tartare (a somewhat small portion, though), veal with tuna sauce, which was delicious, with just the right amount of pink, but with a mayonnaise-based sauce (I would have preferred the old-fashioned recipe), a gnocco with Castelmagno cheese (a cheese that wasn't very flavorful), and ravioli al plin, which were truly excellent, even though they were served with rosemary instead of sage and thyme. We had two glasses of the 2022 vintage of Nebbiolo and Barbera, both good but not impressive. The dessert was average. Overall, it's not one of my favorites, or rather, the ones that alone are worth the trip, but I would return if passing through. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the view and the winery itself are a strong point. Ample private parking is available for guests.
