Ristorante Al Veliero In

We went to the sailing ship for dinner, looking for a restaurant serving authentic traditional Ligurian cuisine. We found a fantastic place with highly qualified staff who truly made us feel at home. They treated my young son especially well. The food is wonderful, and the ingredients are truly top-notch, with fresh, authentic ingredients expertly prepared. We were pleasantly surprised by the value for money. We'll be back soon. Highly recommended.

Very nice place, friendly staff and good choices on the menu. Anchovies we're delicious as we're the risotto and fresh pasta with prawns. Wine was good and good value. All round a very tasty meal.

We ate lunch and dinner at this excellent restaurant for almost the entire three days we spent in beautiful Genoa (we skipped lunch one day because we were out of the area). There were six of us, so we had the opportunity to sample almost every dish on the menu, from the delicious traditional Genoese appetizers to the mussels, trofie with pesto, seafood risotto, grilled fish (the anchovies were truly superb!!!), fried fish, grilled vegetables (perfect, with no burnt parts!), to the exquisite homemade desserts and cassata from an excellent Sicilian pastry shop. We were all delighted with the excellent quality of the food, prepared with the freshest ingredients, including a friend of ours from Genoa who hadn't visited the restaurant and who dined with us one evening. The wait times are reasonably quick, and the courtesy and helpfulness of the owner and all the staff are certainly above average! We also noticed their remarkable ability to interact with customers of different nationalities: the rich and fluent language used by the staff and the owner, combined with their kindness, definitely makes a difference! A restaurant we recommend to anyone who loves good, healthy food, a place we'll return to when we return to beautiful Genoa!

Very clean, functional and stylish - not common for an Italian restaurant with traditional food. I would point the food 95/100, service 99/100 and a good price value. So welcoming, chilled and respectful! The team has it’s style!

I recently left this restaurant and would like to share with you what happened. I ordered pasta with mussels, clams, calamari, and shrimp. I can't deny that it tasted pleasant, but unfortunately it was too salty. For this reason, I didn't finish my dish. Since it was late, I got up and went to the cashier to pay. The owner, noticing that my plate wasn't empty, asked me for an explanation. There was no way to convince her to charge me for my order. While these incidents can happen, the real difference is made by the owner's courtesy and professionalism. A small gesture that has earned a loyal customer. Well done.
