01/09/2025: We arrived by chance and were pleasantly surprised by the fish menu! Perfect preparation and presentation, everything was delicious, great value for money, generous portions, and discreet, efficient service. EXCELLENT!

18/10/2025: Ristorante da Afro is one of my regular stops during my travels in Friuli. I started, as usual, with the excellent San Daniele prosciutto and then tried the Asìno cheese, typical of the Vito d'Asio and Clauzetto area. We then continued with the fragrant tagliatelle with truffles, and the Acqualagna dish is tagliatelle with mushrooms and white veal ragù. The fiordilatte ice cream was excellent. We also tasted a fine Sauvignon from a local winery that held its own against the renowned Collio wines.

16/10/2025: The hotel and restaurant are highly recommended. The rooms are large, well-equipped, and very clean. The dining room and breakfast room are very elegant and homey. They perfectly complement the traditional dishes, which are also regionally and seasonally adapted. The chef himself speaks very good German, is helpful, and offers good tips.

16/10/2025: A welcoming place with an authentic atmosphere and an excellent selection of craft beers. I tried a truly excellent golden ale: balanced, fragrant, and with a pleasantly bitter finish. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, perfect for those who love quality beer and a relaxed atmosphere.

06/10/2025: A restaurant I absolutely recommend. We ate there as a group of 9 on a Friday evening without a reservation. The food was top-notch, very good (the fried fish was excellent), and the service was excellent, polite, and fast. The price was also very reasonable.

06/10/2025: Restaurant in an excellent location facing the beach, discreet atmosphere, friendly staff, quick service, even though the place was busy, we didn't have a long wait. My partner had the seafood spaghetti and skewers, which were excellent. I had the fried calamari, crispy vegetables, and French fries, which were good. The only flaw was the salt, which was so overwhelming that I couldn't finish my meal! But overall, it's good, and worth a visit.

07/09/2025: A very pleasant surprise! A super-stocked shop with a wide variety of sweet and savory items, all gluten-free. The focaccias are some of the best I've ever had, and the staff are all super helpful. I recommend booking in advance if you're looking for something specific, but you'll always find a wide selection at the counter. They also have sandwiches, focaccias, and cassoni filled with whatever you want! We'll definitely be back!

06/09/2025: I've been a customer of this sweet shop for years. If I had to rate the many delicacies they offer for celiacs, it would be a solid 10 out of 10 for everything: the ingredients they use, the attention to preparation, cleanliness, care, kindness, service, etc. This is a comment from a celiac who has lived her life (59 years) as a celiac, having been diagnosed with celiac disease during weaning. 16/10/2025: We visited this trattoria for lunch and found the service courteous, friendly, and delicious. The first course, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, was superb, but perhaps lacked a little more salt. Obviously, this is my personal opinion, as the food was quite tasty, but the dish was definitely worth it. The rich and varied appetizer, accompanied by excellent local honey, added an extra touch. The kindness of Bruno, the owner, and Bruno, the waiter, truly made us very happy. We will definitely be back.

16/10/2025: my husband and I had the BEST dinner here!! The pasta is as fresh as it gets, cooked perfectly, and the flavors in the sauces are unbelievable. Truly the best Carbonara either of us have ever had. This is a truly authentic trattoria owned by a wonderful family whose pride in their recipes shine through in the final product. We can’t wait to visit Bruno and Georgia again soon 💕

13/09/2025: Avant-garde in the public sphere, Italian pride, Nonno approved, it has table football, pool, and darts—not one, not three, but TWO floors for unforgettable drinks and food. There's also an outdoor area and a balcony for junkies—what more could you ask for? I'll tell you what: top-notch staff, super friendly and helpful! And if you're still hungry after a Galleon, you're definitely in for a treat. Final result: 0% disappointment, 1000% positive.

30/10/2025: A very nice place, located close to the historic center of Matera, near the entrance to the pedestrian area; typical local architecture, tastefully decorated, clean, and quite spacious. The staff is welcoming and friendly, young and well-trained. They quickly seat you and introduce you to the house specialties. The menu features a variety of typical dishes from Matera, including pignata and pignatella. The wine list is good. The ingredients are good. The dishes, well-prepared and presented, in my opinion, the "more elaborate" ones lack a distinctive touch that would highlight their authenticity. The cheese selection is excellent, and the appetizers are good overall. I had the opportunity to try the pignatella; it's a dish that needs to be savored with patience 🌬️. I really liked the flavor. I would have liked a little more meat and even a few pieces of sausage in addition to the crumbled one, but it was still very good. I really enjoyed dipping the dough that serves as the lid for the pignata into the broth at the end. For dessert, we tried the "sporcamusso," which was also delicious: delicate puff pastry, a soft creamy filling with balanced flavors. The only flaw was that the pastry was quite warm, while the creamy filling was cold, even lukewarm. But at that hour, it was nice not to get your face dirty with boiling cream. The quality/price ratio was decent, within the limits of what the market offers, but overall, the place has room for improvement. I will return to try the Pignata. Overall, I recommend going, especially in the evening. Given the proximity to the historic center, after eating, a stroll along the main street of Matera by night was a pleasant experience.
