19/04/2026: This restaurant was suggested by AI. We truly wanted to find something non-touristy and avoid a tourist trap, and were hoping to try local meats, so we decided to give this steakhouse a chance. Unfortunately, we were very negatively surprised by the level of service we received. First, the waiter didn’t really understand English. We don’t blame anyone for that, as there’s no requirement for everyone to speak it, but it made communication very difficult. The waiter mixed up our order several times and brought out a different wine than what we had asked for. On top of that, he brought the wrong bottle size and struggled to open it. We ordered two steaks and received them very undercooked, despite having ordered them medium. The steaks were simply not enjoyable. We were also puzzled by some of the unusual service choices — after the meal, they brought out a large stand filled with lollipops and candies, and insisted on cash payment collected in a plastic toy car-shaped can, which felt very strange and unprofessional. Overall, the experience was disappointing and we would not recommend eating here to anyone looking for a delicious meal with great service.

16/12/2025: Considering you're in a unique part of Tuscany, full of stimuli and unique flavors, a restaurant with that kind of cuisine is an insult to the region. Bland dishes served at the temperature limit due to the countless elaborate dishes; the entrée is a waste of time. I won't dwell on the dishes and will simply say absolutely nothing. A woman in the kitchen who sits all evening allegorically recalling the cuisine of the past when there's absolutely nothing of the past. The staff is kind, with a thousand thoughtful touches, sometimes even cloying. Regarding the wines, when I asked a very simple question—"A local organic or biodynamic wine?"—three of them completely lost their minds. My only regret is that I drove 1.5 hours to get there. My last statement: stop looking for stars that have become obsolete; go to the fields and shops to seek out quality raw materials.

14/05/2026: Had a great meal here! The staff is very friendly and the food is fantastic. Whether you order pasta or a nice piece of fish or meat. The tiramisu is also highly recommended. Plenty of choice in fine wines!

12/05/2026: A lovely restaurant in the heart of the historic center, small but welcoming. The cuisine is excellent and carefully prepared, along with a good selection of wines. The service is friendly and fast.

09/06/2026: This place could use a good refresh, as the spaces and rooms clearly reflect the passing of time. The furnishings are dated, and the rooms now look run-down. At the spa, where silence is required and smoking is prohibited, a lady entertained us for HOURS by talking at the top of her voice on her cell phone, using the speakerphone. After all the guests had waited too long, the staff was called, but they were unable to silence the aforementioned "lady." Instead, with uncontrollable rudeness, she attacked everyone present with tantrums and sarcasm. We had to leave the common areas, as it was impossible to experience the peace and quiet we had come for, and unfortunately, the staff failed to enforce the rules the facility itself has imposed. In fact, the lady remained blissfully in the pool, disturbing everyone's tranquility, taunting anyone who criticized her. Meanwhile, her husband was happily smoking in the space where the NO SMOKING SIGN kept the other (useless) silence company. We had to forgo some healthy relaxation (which comes at a high price), and unfortunately, our short vacation, which was intended for just that, was ruined. In the square in front of the entrance, we also saw children playing ball, and frankly, it didn't seem like a suitable environment for such an activity. If you're looking for peace and relaxation, I sincerely advise against it. It's a shame because the place has a truly remarkable view, and the spa staff were truly professional.

07/06/2026: Fantastic experience. From the moment you walk through the elegant gates, you'll realize that every guest is at the center of attention here. Plenty of pampering and attention make your stay magical. Every member of the staff works to make your holiday special and feels truly at home here. The treatments available are cutting-edge. I personally had the intensive biocast, and it was truly exceptional. A tangible result, in addition to the health benefits. Giulia, the person in charge of the treatment, was superb, gentle, and an excellent professional. We will definitely return to enjoy this paradise again.

18/04/2026: I passed the test!! The lady at the entrance, the one dressed in blue like a run-down hostess, said yes!!! After looking me up and down, she told me there was a free table at the bar for us!! Eureka... but won't you check the soles of my shoes? You know what? You missed an opportunity, I'm turning heel and going to give my money to someone more discreet and refined than you. Are you bragging? You've got the wrong target, turn your gaze to all those American tourists sprawled on your exquisite sofas, not caring about your grand dame airs.

07/06/2026: A very charming seaside restaurant, with a lovely atmosphere and a pleasant location. Special praise goes to the owner's son, who served us with professionalism, courtesy, and attention. Unfortunately, the value for money wasn't entirely convincing: in the first course of clams and bottarga, more than half the clams were closed or empty, compromising the quality of the dish. A shame, because the service lived up to expectations.

07/06/2026: The owner was completely full of himself. He literally chased us out of the restaurant when we asked him to close a window. Furthermore, we were with an elderly person with reduced mobility.

25/01/2026: Nice place away from the chaos, the guys are all great... I always feel great when I leave there. We always order the fried pasta (delicious) because the tomato sauce is exceptional; the pizzas are excellent, with beautiful toppings, but I tried the new sandwiches and was amazed! We had the tempura shrimp sandwich (pictured) and the tuna one, delicious, we weren't expecting them. Well done, well done, well done! P.S. The desserts are also very good and highly recommended. (P.S.: The pizzeria has moved from the restaurant, which is now located on Via Romana.)

22/04/2026: This restaurant is justly known by neighbors for superb seafood and fantastic pizza. Confirming that reputation, Bill and I had one fabulous meal here, then returned for a second .The servers treated us as if we were family; Esmeland and Pasquale recognized us immediately upon our second visit and were incredibly friendly and charming. They have a passion for this restaurant and giving excellent service. (Pasquale is the fourth generation in the restaurant business.) They remembered us after two days, despite having many visitors in between. The seafood is excellent and so is the pizza, often made with distinctive ingredients and flavors. Bravo!!

05/05/2026: A real tourist trap. The pizza was clearly not fresh or made on the spot – it looked like it had been bought somewhere else and it was even served cold. The food was generally very disappointing for the price you pay. The staff was also unpleasant, especially the blonde waitress, who came across as very unfriendly and uninterested. The only positive thing about this place is the location, but there are much better restaurants in Lucca. I would not recommend it.

26/04/2026: We stayed here as a group for a course. The lady welcomed us very warmly and was incredibly kind, and that continued throughout our entire seven-day stay. Really good food and generous portions. Some details could be improved, including the occasional dirty plate or glass. The rooms are old and could be improved. Only some of our beds had slats, while others had old bases. The rooms were very damp, and the showers were a bit dated. The room was cleaned and made up every day. Overall, they're okay.
