18/10/2025: Is it beautiful? Yes. Is it clean? Yes. Is the staff friendly and competent? Yes. BUT the devil is in the details - and being a 4 star hotel is about details. We were on the third floor and the wifi was just terrible. Kept dropping and reconnecting. This is not acceptable in 2025 in a Mercure. Moreover - how is it possible for all the paintings not to hang correctly off the walls? The shower was spacious, with great water pressure - but the glass pane has water traces that are not wiped off daily. The breakfast buffet has a great selection... But the cornetti offered were pitiful and the cappuccinos we were served were very poor given the fact this is an Italian hotel. Conclusion: If you want a nice, clean, restful place to sleep in in a beautiful setting, the Mercure is for you. But they need to work on getting everything right, and not just the big picture.

14/09/2025: I stayed here with my partner. We had a wonderful welcome. The exclusive spa they offer is beautiful, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. We'll definitely be back and I highly recommend it! Everything was perfect!

11/06/2025: Now we know why this lovely hotel gets great reviews. We stayed a night driving from the south to Rome and what a choice we made. Super friendly family hotel with a lot more than meets the eye. Amazing spa facilities (must do) and a restaurant (we think Nonna is cooking!). However a word of warning as Rocco the cat is actually in charge ( so cute ) so be prepared to provide intel if you spot him in a sneaky hiding spot ! Good place. If your 50/50 trust us. Stay

12/09/2025: Absolutely do not order a tuna pizza from this pizzeria. They use some kind of fake tuna cream, which they call tuna. Absolute disappointment. The quality of the past has vanished... The dough is beyond belief. We hadn't been there for a year, but the quality has completely changed! Oh, the icing on the cake, the insect on my daughter's pizza. I didn't have time to take a photo... Total disappointment!! The lady apologized, saying she was experimenting with tuna; she even ordered a higher quality than she had! And we even paid for the tuna pizza, which we left whole. Nothing, absolutely avoid it because we left with a stomach ache!! Shabby quality!!

11/10/2025: It's a simple pizzeria where I come whenever I'm looking for good food at a still-fair price. Today I had a simple Margherita, and you might be wondering what's so special about it. Well, it was absolutely perfect! 5 stars absolutely deserved. The sauce tasted like sauce, the mozzarella tasted like mozzarella. Excellent dough, nicely salted. In short, excellent! Ps. Sorry for the photo, but it was so good that the pizza ran out ;)

18/08/2025: A culinary experience that surprises and captivates. I returned to this restaurant for lunch on August 15th after a while and was pleasantly surprised: the menu has been completely revamped, and the change definitely lives up to expectations. The chef has done an extraordinary job in developing the new dishes, placing the raw ingredients—selected with great care—at the center and showcasing them with original yet perfectly balanced combinations. The flavors are authentic, never predictable, and the quality is evident from the first bite. The presentation is meticulously crafted. Congratulations to the chef and all the staff!

02/10/2025: Avoid despite the advice in the guidebook... Mediocre, reheated dishes, and small portions, which was a good thing for us, as it was so bland. Expensive for the quality. The service is minimal and can be attentive...

30/06/2025: El restaurante está situado justo enfrente del castillo en el casco antiguo de Otranto. El comedor interior es un poco estrecho, así que optamos por el Wintergarden, que ofrece un poco más de espacio. La comida está muy bien presentada y muy imaginativa. Comenzamos con anchoas adobadas servidas con achicoria y mermelada de naranja, una combinación inusual que funciona sorprendentemente bien. A continuación, tuvimos los espaguetis de erizo de mar, que era excepcional. El servicio fue impecable. Es un lugar muy conocido entre los lugareños, así que si estás planeando una visita, asegúrate de hacer una reserva, especialmente por la noche. Los precios son más altos, pero los ingredientes son increíblemente frescos y los platos absolutamente deliciosos.

25/06/2025: Abbiamo cenato in un ambiente poco confortevole ,e siamo stati un po’ isolati dalla cameriera .Sembrava quasi che la nostra presenza non era gradita .A chiudere la cena si è presentato uno grosso scarafaggio proveniente dal soffitto che girava intorno al tavolo. Il personale sembra abituato forse a scene come queste ,hanno schiacciato l’insetto e raccolto . Tutto è tornato nella normalità ,ma noi siamo andati via un po’ infastiditi ,tutto può accadere ma almeno ci aspettavamo le scuse .Sicuramente non ci torneremo. Qualità del cibo discreta per il prezzo pagato.

But my special thanks goes to Sara, a helpful, kind, super welcoming girl with polite manners who tries in every way to help you to make the wedding even more special... All my guests still talk about this resort and the good food and the beautiful location... 21/09/2025: Absolutely terrible service! My daughter celebrated her wedding there in August. The location and venue are gorgeous. However, since another wedding was scheduled to take place after ours, the entire meal was served in a rush, and the choice of fish or meat was practically ignored. Even after repeated requests, the alternative pre-ordered meat dish still didn't arrive. The six-piece band was instructed by the restaurant to play their last song and call it a night at 5:30 p.m., even though the band had been booked and paid for by my daughter. The other venue (cake and dessert), which wasn't a problem for us—in the winter garden instead of the roof terrace because of the weather (next to the restaurant hall, where the other party was supposed to be), unfortunately, everything went much too quickly, and practically everything was cleared away while the guests were still sitting. If they then asked for a drink or coffee, they were told they were out of stock or that it wasn't available, as otherwise there would be a commotion with the other couple. I am truly disappointed with this service, especially since this should have been the couple's most special day, and it had been planned with great care down to the last detail for over a year, not to mention the financial aspect. I think a restaurant that hosts two weddings on the same day should handle it more professionally, as well as have the capacity of the venue, even in bad weather, and not practically throw them out with such gestures. It would have only been fair and honest if the restaurant had pointed out that as soon as the other couple arrived, they should leave so that the party wouldn't mix (this was always denied after repeated inquiries). Unfortunately, I can't give my daughter any more advice in this regard, but my two sons certainly won't be celebrating their wedding there, nor will many of the young guests who have also expressed their concerns. The restaurant gets a bad impression from the guests who have experienced this firsthand and complained, which is a shame because the place and the food are great.

25/09/2025: Dinner celebrating 30 years of marriage. A perfect choice, the restaurant offers impeccable service and excellent food. You can even choose an outdoor table with an incredible ocean view or a more private indoor table with a beautiful view. A cozy and very good restaurant. I recommend it.

02/10/2025: Avoid, a disgrace to the restaurant industry, and I'm not being paid by anyone for this review. Since the reviews were correct, we decided to choose this establishment for lunch. What a disappointment, I don't know how anyone can give 5 stars for such an establishment. Pasta carbonara undercooked (worse than al dente) and very salty, escalope with mushrooms and white wine (meat not even grilled, frozen mushroom pieces in a tasteless broth). We didn't order dessert; we had it elsewhere.
