However, we would have liked to try the white truffle but when ordering we were warned that it was not available despite both the menu displayed outside the restaurant (on the pedestal that allows you to consult the dishes before entering) and the menu brought to the table the dishes with white truffle were present and no one warned us that they were not available until the moment of ordering. I believe that if a restaurant in Alba does not have white truffles (displayed on the menu) it should warn a customer in advance who is most likely sitting at one of its tables to try it.

09/03/2025: Beautiful experience that we tried for the first time for my birthday. Very good and delicate food, wonderful view. We didn't use room service because we only had dinner. Only note, not everyone likes to eat in the company of insects. There were at least a couple of bedbugs hanging around between and on the tables and when we pointed this out, we only received a ironic response, leaving them there. I understand that the place is in the countryside, in the middle of nature, but the windows were closed and from a refined and high-level place, I expect the room to be checked before welcoming customers. With the windows open it wouldn't be possible, of course, but since they are closed, a little attention to these details could improve the service.

08/04/2025: Wenn man spürt das der Gastgeber liebt was er macht. Obwohl eigentlich geschlossen war, wurde nur für uns gekocht. Wir hatten ein mittleres Menü, konnten den Hauptgang wechseln und da ich keinen Dessert mehr mochte, gab es eine Tafel selbstgemachte Schokolade für mich zum mitnehmen. Wir haben uns mehr als willkommen gefühlt, danke!

14/01/2025: Siamo stati a cena qualche mese fa in questo bel ristorante nelle Langhe incuriositi dal fatto che lo chef avesse lavorato presso il ristorante tristellato francese trois gros per parecchi anni. Perplessi per la perdita della stella abbiamo confermato il nostro tavolo ed abbiamo fatto super bene! Buonissima cena Buon servizio Squisito il piatto ispirato ai tagli di Lucio Fontana e auguriamo allo chef "di andare oltre" ... noi lo seguiremo in capo al mondo! Bravissimo bravi tutti Veramente incomprensibile a mio parere la decisione della guida francese.

02/03/2025: È proprio vero che l' apparenza inganna. Siamo andati per le recensioni positive dell' osteria. Dall' esterno non vi viene voglia di entrare... internamente si presenta più come un bar, l' arredamento è datato... insomma i dubbi che si mangi bene ci sono. Ma poi c'è il sig.Paolo gentilissimo che ti accoglie e ti indica il menù, abbiamo mangiato una degustazione di antipasti, con salsiccia di Bra buonissima, e fassona al coltello... Lo scamone su piastra è fenomenale tenerissimo, ottima qualità di carne. E il dolce semifreddo alla nocciola...una bontà. Pulizia impeccabile. Complimenti.

02/03/2025: Avevamo un bel ricordo ma purtroppo qualcosa è cambiato servizio mediocre (non cambiano le posate ) ma oltre il mangiare solo più discreto,ci hanno pressato per lasciare il tavolo portandoci il conto non ancora chiesto e subito dopo il pos per pagare. PS eravamo seduti solo da una ora e mezza scarsa. Caffè pessimo

25/02/2025: A place well known in the past. After making a reservation, we tried the local tasting menu. Let's say that as often happens in good starred restaurants, in addition to the good and well-presented food, the pleasant environment and the furnishings, you have an experience in every sense. Having also tried the pairing of wines with the dishes as per the proposal, we experienced a true full immersion that was truly very pleasant. Perfect service (human and professional), great passion. Excellent quality/price ratio.

22/10/2024: We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the San Carlo. The hotel is cozy and clean. In the evening we had an outstanding “Tartufo Experience” menu. You can tell how much love and appreciation goes into cooking here. The ingredients were local and fresh, everything was beautifully prepared and served with a top wine recommendation. Paola and Carlo are warm hosts, you immediately feel welcome and in good hands.

22/03/2025: The place is beautiful, the tables are made on wine barrels; originals. Specialized in first courses, but you can also try appetizers and second courses. The quality of the raw materials is excellent, both the products with which they make the pasta sauces and the pasta itself, a choice of dry or fresh. The portions are generous but we advise you to leave room for the desserts because they are worth it, made by them, excellent and very fresh. Compliments! Alas, we live an hour's drive away and we don't manage to go as often as we would like but every time we leave this place always satisfied

17/02/2025: We took a very short family vacation in Carloforte and we found THE TOP! The “Residenza al Castello” has only positive points: spacious, bright and very clean room, equipped with all comforts and with 2 panoramic balconies! The structure is very close to the center, reachable on foot in a few minutes! The owner Anna Carla gave us all the useful information for a truly pleasant and high-level stay and she was extraordinarily kind, helpful and professional! Another absolutely positive point is that this structure was open in low season (February), while many local structures are closed in the same period! In short: highly recommended experience and structure! Too bad I can't give more stars! Alex, Carla, Enrico
