02/03/2026: Another one of those unpretentious osteria outside of the tourist hotspots that serves tasty affordable food with friendly service. The fritto Misto was one of the best I’ve tried. The place was filled with locals on their lunch break. The wine was lovely and I was given a free panna cotta. If you are in the area check this place out.

18/02/2026: There are no lunch sets available during the off-season, but ordering à la carte is still quite affordable. The owner doesn't speak much English but is very friendly. Seafood salad - ordinary but with lots of ingredients. Seafood tomato fettuccine - lots of ingredients and delicious. Squid ink pasta - delicious and flavorful, but a plate of it alone is too rich. Seafood risotto - amazing flavor, lots of ingredients, almost like congee, haha, highly recommended! 👍🏻 The noodle portions are all very large, very filling. The pizza is ordinary, but the fries are crispy and delicious. After eating, they serve a tangy, creamy lemon smoothie, which is great and refreshing.

11/03/2026: Stopped by a few times while staying in the Cannaregio. Didn’t mind their “No Spritz” stance and didn’t get to try their Cicchetti, but all the staff are knowledgeable about their Wine offerings, and there are a bounty of options! Highly recommend if you are looking for some nice glasses of Wine in the neighborhood

08/03/2026: Great little spot for a quick bite and wine. We don't drink but we wanted to grab a snack where it was a little quieter and this was perfect. Super friendly staff and delicious cicchetti. They had a couple non-alcoholic options for us to consume which we appreciated. The prices were fantastic!

22/01/2026: Great seafood in Venice. I had special of the day soup and you can see it was loaded with seafood. Everything was fresh and tasty, very busy at lunch time which is a good sign for a seafood place if you ask me. I’m happy to have gone.

08/01/2026: The appetizers, bruschetta, and risotto were all delicious! However, the appetizer in the first photo was 60 euros... We chose them from a selection lined up in a deli-like setting in the store, and when we asked, "Is this the one on the menu?" (I think it was around 30 euros on the menu), they said "Yes, yes!", so we trusted them, but we were still charged 60 euros. We don't know if this was a cashier's mistake or a deliberate rip-off, but when we looked at other people's reviews, we saw heaping portions of appetizers for a similar price, so we realized that our appetizers probably weren't the regular price after all. It's a shame because the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant were really good...

17/02/2026: Excellent food, we ordered as pictured: 1 montanarina, 1 frittatina, two pizzas (I chose the one with black Angus cold cuts), 1 half-liter beer, 1 bottle of still water, and 1 berry cheesecake, for a total of €52. Highly recommended, delicious pizzas made with excellent ingredients.

05/10/2025: Even by Korean standards, this is a top-tier restaurant. The kimchi, pork, and buldak (fire chicken) set menus were all delicious. The side dishes were all consistently seasoned and delicious.

21/03/2026: Excellent fish appetizer, seafood risotto, coffee, house white wine, and complimentary limoncello. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Very good value for money. Located on a quiet street. We'll be back.

28/02/2026: Definitely worth a visit! Besides the "standard" flavors, there are several unusual ones. I went there specifically for the licorice ice cream. Delicious ice cream and a very friendly, multilingual owner! We'll be back!

27/02/2026: Flavours always evolving, with weird and delightfully delicious options you dont find elsewhere, the gelato here deserves more popularity than Suso (which has very long cues). My favourite gelato is a pleasant green one that is actually made from local underwater plants (but made quite sweet) and am so sad I will never have it again now I am home! We went twice in September 2025 and loved both staff members.

13/03/2026: I visited on March 13th, right when they opened. I heard it gets crowded, so I went at 12:00 PM, but they told me I could choose any seat I liked, and I got a window seat! The atmosphere and the staff's service were wonderful, and the squid ink pasta I'd been wanting to try was exquisite! They kindly engaged in conversation with me despite my broken English and a little Italian, and I had a very pleasant time. Also, if you visit this restaurant, you absolutely must try the tiramisu! The tiramisu melted in my mouth; it was unlike any tiramisu I'd ever tasted. I was told it was made by Simo, who was there that day, and when I told him how delicious it was, he gave me truly excellent service! It's also very close to the Rialto Bridge, so I highly recommend it!

09/12/2025: Simply fantastic! We were here today around 9 pm. The restaurant was, of course, very full, but we had a wonderful evening. The food was fresh and delicious. The seafood was divine; I've never had such delicious seafood. The children also had Wiener Schnitzel and Cordon Bleu 😋.

21/03/2026: Taverna San Lio has been close to my heart since my first return to Venice over a decade ago. The warm hospitality remains, carried forward by staff who embody the house ethos. Highlights included a crisp fritto misto (scampi, calamari, cuttlefish) with polenta and wasabi mayo, a refined truffle-porcini-egg dish on potato purée, and a classic seafood risotto cooked all’onda. Duck breast with Treviso radicchio and carrot purée was bold and balanced. Desserts were comforting: tiramisù in glass, chocolate fondant with silken anglaise, and dense chocolate mousse with apricot tuiles. San Lio balances Venetian tradition with thoughtful modern touches - the offerings are to a good standard, and the experience is consistently heartfelt.
