Osteria Bakan In Venezia

Honest Osteria with no frills A very young chef who prepares really delicious food. At times the employees are a bit hectic as there is a lot going on. But everyone is really nice and tries hard, even if things don't work out as planned. The local guests are also really friendly and accommodating. I went there twice because my hotel is right next door and this Osteria was recommended to me.

We became aware of this original Osteria thanks to the above-average Google reviews. This restaurant, which is very popular with locals, is tucked away near the university and not far from Piazzale Roma. A few tables in front of the restaurant, inside a neat and original Osteria atmosphere. In the very quiet inner courtyard there are several additional tables, which also look very inviting thanks to the beautiful fabric tablecloths. The wine list is clear but well sorted and offers a very good price-performance ratio (the 0.375 bottle of wine is available here from €14). The menu is available in Italian and English. We had a fish dish as a starter and as a main course (see pictures) and were very impressed with the quality of the food. But the pasta dishes that were served at the neighboring tables also looked excellent. The very nice and courteous service employee on the evening of our visit also spoke excellent English. Overall, a very nice evening in a very pleasant and original atmosphere with excellent food and wine. We also felt absolutely welcome as (non-Italian speaking) tourists. Thank you!

The typical Venetian tavern. A simple and welcoming place, because what matters is good food and good drink. The fish dishes are all worth trying. Perhaps the best prawns and sardines in saor I have ever eaten. Ask for advice on the wines but even the house wine is more than "honest". Homemade cakes are like a sweet memory of the past, good.

Just had lunch here and it was perfect. Two delicious spaghetti dishes with 2 lots of home made warm bread to add to the carb count but who cares as we will now walk it off in magical surroundings. Well worth a visit

Etwas abgelegen, aber jeden Umweg wert, nette Familien geführte Osteria abseits der Touristenmassen. Wir waren zum Mittagessen hier, hatten Cozze als Vorspeise, danach Tagliatelle Bolognese und Spaghetti alla Busera, einfache und gute Küche. Keine überteuerte Massenabfertigung wie sonst in Venedig üblich...

Off the beaten track a bit, but a great family owned restaurant. Our server was excellent. The steak I had was cooked to order, and the pasta my wife got was good as well. A limited cocktail selection, but they were eager to please. The homemade Tiramisu was spectacular.
