13/07/2024: Delicious croissant, available in many flavors. A wide selection of other desserts and more. Nice service, speaks English. The confectionery shop is located close to the market square, under a roof, with plenty of space to sit inside.

19/05/2024: Pastry shop in Piazza Ferretto in Mestre outdoor tables inside a few tables good service there is no menu with prices so you order blindly mignon pastry shop nothing exceptional indeed medium low high prices for the quality

18/12/2024: We had a fantastic local dinner of Salmone Marinato, Gnocchi Gorgonzola e Spinach, spaghetti con vongole, Coscia di Pocco in Umido and Frittura Di Peace Misto. We completed the meal with tiramisu and mixed berry confectionery and coffee of course. The walk from Hotel Poppi was worth it for a memorable dinner.

27/10/2024: We were looking for a quiet place for lunch. The place is dated but well kept and clean. There were 2 of us who went on a Sunday, the fixed price menu was meat only at €15... we opted for fish on paper, scallops au gratin, watery and with plenty of sand. Spaghetti with clams transformed into bavette🤔, decent clams..and mussel bavette full of mountain basil (perhaps to mitigate the taste) with terrible mussels, imperceptible taste full of sand. We won't be back.

04/08/2024: Abbiamo cenato assaggiando 3 primi diversi, una frittura di pesce, 2 portate di antipasti tra cui i cicchetti della casa consigliato per 2 persone. Per quest' ultimo ho trovato esagerato il prezzo rispetto a qualità e quantità offerta. Niente da dire per i primi e la frittura. Attento e cordiale il servizio.

01/08/2024: We came here for dinner after our top 2 choices were closed on Tuesdays. Past TripAdvisor reviews seemed positive but we did not have the same experience. This was definitely the worst meal our family had out of our 12 days in Italy. The eggplant parmigiana appetizer was a weird cold mousse with a piece of cheese in it and not as described on the menu. The scallop appetizer had a weird asparagus mousse on it. The appetizers were served at the same time as the pasta. We noticed other tables around us being served dishes at random times and complaining about it. The 2 pasta dishes were small and dry and the pork was dry and boring. The spaghetti with seafood was ok but not great and the noodles were stuck together as though someone forgot to stir the pot. Maybe the chef was different on this night. The staff was unorganized and confused. We left as soon as we could and had dessert nearby as we were still hungry and needed to save the evening.

06/01/2025: In recent days the place has 'changed its look' and has become the bright spot of the market square. The Venetian cuisine, curated by chef Stefano Aldreghetti himself, recalls the Venetian tradition of bacaro, so much so that we suggest starting the 'bacaro tour' from Marghera and then if you really want to continue towards Venice... Nothing is missing from Venetian cicchetti and wines and lunches and dinners with attention to detail with elegance and culture, at prices for everyone, Sardines in saor, polenta and schie, prawns, spaghetti risotto with squid ink and lobster or with variations on the theme, pasta and tripe beans, mixed boiled meat, and even the simple boiled egg and so on and so forth, including homemade desserts; from day to day, from time to time, ask the Chef for advice. So now the Barkala' restaurant is the first bacaro tavern on the mainland by choice with the possibility of a reserved room for special occasions but, from recent direct experience the standard dining room is beautiful and welcoming. Congratulations to Stefano and the staff ..Visit often to understand and appreciate......

26/08/2024: Des pizzas succulentes. Et une terrasse avec en toile de fond il ponte di Rialto. Et un service des plus chaleureux. Et Laura…Pour ces raisons invoquées, ce fut un réel plaisir d’y venir deux soirées de suite.

08/08/2024: Excelente atendimento é um preço justo pelos pratos. Já é a segunda vez que venho a Veneza e uso esse restaurante. O Jack nos deu um "regalo" como aperitivo ( Limoncello). Preço excelente para os padrões de Veneza.

21/07/2024: Pessima esperienza. Volevamo fare una semplice colazione in darsena ma è stata una delusione. Location top. Personale molto maleducato specialmente una ragazza al bancone, sembrava inoltre che i dipendenti non lavorassero tutti nello stesso posto anche se una risposta li accomunava “Io non lo so, ora chiedo”. Ci fanno accomodare in terrazza e poco dopo ci viene detto di sposarci perché “Dobbiamo allestire per il pranzo”, ci spostiamo allora in un’altra terrazzava indicata da loro dove sarebbero venuti ad aprirci l’ombrellone: voi li avete visti? Noi nemmeno. Ordiniamo due caffe, un latte macchiato, due the e tre brioche: 30 euro. FOLLIA. Il latte macchiato non arriva ma aggiungono un terzo caffè. Solo dopo aver fatto presente che mancava il latte macchinato arriva e il quantitativo è misero, sotto le due dita ma “La macchinetta lo fa così”. Il problema di questa colazione è stata la maleducazione di una cameriera e la strafottenza con la quale pretendeva comprensione visti i 4 tavoli e i 5 camerieri (un tavolo si è alzato ed è andato via senza ordinare). Abbiamo aspettato per 30 minuti, la nostra comprensione era alle stelle.

08/09/2024: Nice venue. The dishes are well presented and prepared. The price of the dinner was excellent. Excellent fish dishes. The fried calamari was very tender, although I would have preferred them "more fried" they were excellent. 25 euros each for two. Two plates of calamari, 1 water, 1/2 liter of white wine, two desserts. It seems excellent to me.

08/12/2024: Very tasty food! You can tell that the pizza is homemade. The varieties are very different and each has its own flair. A bit expensive, but where else is it in Venice?

08/12/2024: Excellent bar-restaurant near Piazza San Marco. The pizzas and stuffed focaccias are very good. It's perfect for a quick lunch or on the go.

17/08/2024: I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years, and even hosted dinner parties there in the past, because of its delicious food, but this summer was unexpectedly and exceptionally awful. All my food had almost zero taste, and I had to constantly ask for salt which was in heavy rotation at other tables! From my starter, which was a raw tuna dish, to my main which was a kind of”sea bass” from the region and artichokes. I also wanted a pasta but they refused to do half portion which is not unusual in Italy. I was still hungry and decided to see if it was just the fish that was bad on this particular visit, and wanted to relive my previous memories of really delicious food so I ordered a pasta which was sadly also so tasteless so much so that I had to ask my neighboring table for the salt as my pasta was getting cold. The only upside is I befriended my neighboring table (turns out we had two mutual friends!) and we commiserated on the exceptionally bland and tasteless food which is not what you expect at the hidden but expensive Corte Sconta. They also said had been coming for a few years from Switzerland and they said their food was also so bad and they wouldn’t come back again. They told me a funny saying that when a chef is in love, he puts salt in his dishes. And when they are depressed, then put none. They wondered if the chef was going through a divorce! It was supposed to be a highlight of my visit but I had a sore disappointment!

13/07/2024: Les serveurs et serveuses étaient extrêmement sympathiques et professionnels. Les conseils pour le vin étaient également bon. Cependant la qualité des repas n était pas au rendez vous . Nous avons opté pour un menu et celui ci était très décevant , pas cuisiné. De plus nous avons été malade toute la nuit suite à une mauvaise gestion de la chaîne du froid ( notre carpaccio de thon rouge est arrivé tiède ) . Nous n étions pas les seuls à être déçus, à côté une personne a renvoyé son plat .

26/10/2024: Visitamos el restaurante y tuvimos una experiencia extremadamente decepcionante. Primero solicitamos la comida para llevar, pero nos negaron esta opción de manera tajante, a pesar de que estábamos dispuestos a esperar. Ante esta negativa, pedimos quedarnos a cenar en el restaurante, pero nos dijeron que solo tenían mesas para cuatro o dos personas. Aunque éramos un grupo de cinco y ofrecimos sentarnos en una mesa de cuatro, nos negaron el servicio. Esta negativa fue no solo injusta, sino que también sentimos que estuvo motivada por prejuicios hacia los extranjeros. Esperamos que el restaurante considere seriamente mejorar su política de atención al cliente para ser más inclusivo y flexible, ya que la experiencia que tuvimos fue inaceptable.

13/10/2024: Siamo arrivate alle 18.30 e il locale era vuoto. Non ci potevano accogliere dentro perché tutto prenotato (ma dato l' orario forse potevano servici velocemente e avete il tavolo libero per la prenotazione). Comunque andava bene anche fuori. Eravamo 5 signore ma loro non accoppiano tavoli (per quale motivo non è dato sapere, non è certo una location elegante e raffinata) quindi avremmo dovuto cenare divise , tre in un tavolo due nell'altro. Molto scortesi. Ce ne siamo andate.

17/12/2024: Very warm staff. Catered to all of our wishes. The food was excellent and the portions were sufficient. We sat outside and someone from service came regularly. The toilets are clean. Non-alcoholic drinks are not on the menu. I think the prices for these are a bit high. But still cheaper than at St. Mark's Square ;)

07/12/2024: I’ve never left a review before. Extremely over priced. Worst experience I’ve had in Italy. My boyfriend and I have been traveling for two weeks and haven’t had a bad food experience until this restaurant. All I have to say is the bread was the best part. That should tell you all you need to know.
