18/05/2025: We were here in 4, motorcyclists from various parts of Italy on a quiet evening, even though it was 9.30 pm and many restaurants did not let us eat here we not only fed ourselves but had fun and learned about culture, the owner is one of the few restaurateurs who still today embraces classic catering where at the table you enjoy flavors and sharing. There are fewer and fewer places like this, thanks again for the splendid evening. Regarding the food, impeccable, the superb wine recommended with great experience. A great surprise also the bill, more than honest.

05/05/2025: After having lunch in a local tourist restaurant (there were four of us) my friend suggests having coffee. I tell him to get it at a pastry shop that I noticed in our discovery of the place. And in fact we stopped at the Mario Barone pastry shop where the rice cake was delicious but above all the coffee!! It was the best coffee I've ever had in my life!! Compliments!!

Desserts of all specialties and brioches from the Roman, Campania and Sicilian tradition! You enter this pastry shop and you notice from the first moment the love and dedication of a master pastry chef! It goes without saying that the friendly, courteous staff were friendly and available for every customer need! ALSO THE PRICES FOR THE QUALITY OFFERED ARE UNMATCHED! Thank you.

20/05/2025: Positive experience in an atmosphere of other times! Vintage environment furnished in a very picturesque way, with vintage cars located inside the restaurant, set as tables and where you can also eat inside if you want. A place that takes you back in time and you leave refreshed and satisfied. The kindness and professionalism of the waiter who served us are unique! As for dishes, I recommend the diced grilled polenta with lard and cream of pecorino cheese and the pici all'aglione. The place is also very suitable for families, with a large and safe outdoor area, where there is also an area with slides and games for children. Furthermore, the restaurant is close to the Chiusi motorway exit on the A1, so I also recommend it as an excellent alternative to a meal in a service area.

18/05/2025: Coming off the highway we found this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise!! Inside there is the possibility of having lunch in a car, we had lunch on board a yellow 500! Very nice experience. In addition to this, very good food and very kind staff!

10/05/2025: Super quaint place to sit inside or out with gorgeous views. Like sitting in a garden! Friendly staff and good service. They also have a portable gelato stand outside. Only had drinks but it was a perfect place to stop after walking up to the castle.

The cacio e pepe was tasty, but grilled meats were overcooked, tough, and underseasoned – only the sausage was decent. The rabbit was seasoned well but also tough. Service wasn’t very friendly at first, possibly due to how busy it was. Mixed experience overall.

07/05/2025: Shine with signs of wear Nestled in the rolling hills of the Val d'Orcia is the Fonteverde Lifestyle & Thermal Retreat, a former Medici palace from the 17th century that is now an elegant spa resort. You reach the hotel via a driveway that was once intended as a promise - large, representative, almost a little sophisticated. Today there is that fine veil of past greatness over it that you can feel rather than see. Our e-bikes discreetly disappeared into a luggage room - a service that seemed more pragmatic than charming. The room with a terrace seemed to be between two decades. The living area - decorated in cool white and gray tones - harmonized with the oak floor and conveyed a certain calm. The bathroom, on the other hand, looked as if it had stood its ground against every wave of renovation. The shower was a miss, and from the afternoon onwards the terrace remained a place for sun worshipers with heat tolerance - no sun protection was provided. The dinner in the in-house restaurant was remembered - unfortunately more as a study in missed opportunities. The service fluctuated between hectic and erratic routine, and some employees' uniforms appeared unflatteringly cut or worn - details that didn't quite fit the standards of a five-star hotel. From a culinary point of view, it remained pale, almost as if they didn't want to do anything wrong and achieved exactly that. The breakfast also failed to set any accents. The room was reminiscent of a canteen with ambition, the buffet was complete but unimaginative. And because the thermal baths are part of the house, you will also encounter guests in bathrobes in the morning - a sight that doesn't necessarily add to the atmosphere. Anyone hoping for a certain degree of exclusivity in this hotel because of the “Leading Hotels of the World” label is likely to be disillusioned.
