Osteria del Vicario is not just a restaurant or a simple B&B, but a refuge for the soul, a corner of peace nestled between the ancient walls of the medieval village of Certaldo. Breakfast was a real experience: rich, genuine and entirely vegan. Each dish tells of the passion and care with which it was prepared, and the choice of quality ingredients is perceived with every taste. A detail that struck us deeply was the biscuit, also vegan, offered to our Super Lucky🐶, a thoughtful gesture that demonstrates the attention and respect that this place reserves for every living being. 16/02/2025: It is not easy to manage a historical heritage without distorting it: Erik and Eleonora succeed admirably without losing sight of creativity and experimentation. Sleeping in a 13th century monastery in the rooms that once belonged to the monks and in the morning going down a staircase to enjoy breakfast in the internal room or on the magnificent terrace is priceless! You will not be disappointed even by choosing the restaurant's proposals: the vegetable menu varies every month following the seasonality and the inventiveness of the young chef, together with the truly remarkable cocktails. For us it has become a place of the heart: returning is always a new experience where past and future blend harmoniously.

18/03/2025: A breathtaking castle dating back to the year 1400. Full of historical architectural and art murals, statues, and buildings to see. Used to be the grand bishop's of Florence home. The 2nd most important after the Vatican at that time.

02/01/2025: The castle is a little ruined but they are renovating it little by little, the truth is that it is not what I saw on the website, the photos are totally retouched, but then the house we stayed in was just fine, a rural house, in winter they charge you the heating for days and the place is beautiful, totally general tranquility is fine.

We ordered two Aperol spritzes and it was immediately clear that Aperol was not used but the quality of the products is poor given the headache it caused us. Secondly, the rudeness of the two people present at the bar counter, truly terrible service.

Caffè solo americano che a fatica si riesce a fare uscire dall’erogatore e che è assolutamente antigienico (era rimasta una tazza lasciata da altri); prezzi spropositati e poca scelta x una colazione dolce. Dulcis in fundo, personale scostante e non carino con il cliente. Giornata storta? Dubito…

23/03/2025: Mi dispiace trovare chi ancora usa furbizia nei conti. Ebbene la cena direi sufficiente , pizza un po fredda. Ma andare alla cassa , pagare e poi in macchina scoprire che invece dello scontrino ti hanno dato un semplice preconto è proprio scorrettezza. Questa non è serietà e ristorazione ma pura furbizia.

13/03/2025: I went to this place for lunch. The environment is very beautiful, relaxing and cared for. The wait staff is attentive, professional and helpful. Stars fall on food! I ordered a smoked hamburger cooked "rare" and fries; I received a totally flavorless sandwich with an overcooked hamburger that tasted like I was eating chipboard. The chips were practically empty inside the entire time they had been fried. Another course was cod fried in batter: very thin, chewy and dry pieces. It's a shame because the focaccia was really good.

29/03/2025: While passing through after returning from the Dolomites we decided to stop in this pizzeria due to the previous reviews which were convincing. In fact, we also confirm the quality of the products, the fast service and the good, even plentiful, pizza that we ate. Advised
