04/10/2025: Excellent food at fair prices. We tried a couple of first and second courses: truly superb! Excellent ingredients! The only downside, alas, was the service, or rather, it was slower than I expected given that there were few people and each course took at least 40 minutes to arrive.

03/11/2025: Terrible experience. After waiting 50 minutes for a simple cheese platter (the tables that had ordered with us had been served 20 minutes earlier), when we simply asked the owner how long we still had to wait, we were told to leave, "If you don't like it, there's the door." Filthy place; the table hadn't been cleaned and was dirty with food. Absolutely avoid it!!!! Unfortunately, the owner, in her responses to negative reviews, remains arrogant and rude. Rather than welcoming reviews as an incentive to improve, she continues to insult customers. I would have pointed out to her that our table hadn't been cleaned if she had allowed us to talk instead of attacking us. I have several friends who write for restaurant publications, and I will be sure to recommend the restaurant.

02/11/2025: Extremely rude staff; reading the various reviews, it's clear they're extremely rude and impolite. I notice that the lady, rather than justifying and explaining the criticisms, responds to the reviews by insulting the customers in turn. Rude and rude!

28/10/2025: Historic restaurant in the heart of Orvieto, surrounded by many other touristy eateries. Offers well-prepared Umbrian dishes and generous portions. The place is small, with limited seating, but they do what Orvieto's city center allows. Reasonable prices, and the owner is helpful and present. Fast service, a good experience.

19/10/2025: Truly nothing to complain about! Excellent value for money (especially with the set menu), fast and friendly service, a great location, and a pleasant atmosphere. I'll be back; in the meantime, you should go too!

29/10/2025: Unfortunately, I have to be quite harsh on the food. Although the owner is very friendly, the food is "nice but not great." It's certainly relatively good for tourists and if you're super hungry—but the prices are quite high, and the quality doesn't match the bill. It's neither fish nor meat: the "simplest" dishes lack the abundance, rusticity, or characteristics of trattoria fare, and the more "complex" ones lack the qualities of dishes more typically found in mid-range restaurants or inns. The attention to detail in the restaurant's decor, as well as the above-average plating for a trattoria, are certainly evident, but they alone aren't enough and are actually a bit misleading. The pasta with fennel was absolutely overflowing with fennel, truly excessive—and the cod (a rather ungenerous portion) Orvietana-style was more like cod with a heavy tomato sauce, so hot it was inedible for a few minutes, a temperature that disintegrated the cod, and even small details like the tasteless Asian pine nuts. It's a shame because there's so much potential and you can see the effort, but there's a lot of work to be done in the kitchen if you really want to justify the higher-than-average price.

26/10/2025: Very good, the location is a bit hidden (don't be lazy, just wander around Orvieto's alleys with curiosity), the food is okay, the atmosphere is a bit rustic (but it's a trattoria!!), and the price is reasonable. I give it full marks.

21/10/2025: We were in Orvieto around 3 weeks ago. There is a laundromat across from the Blue Bar. We started our laundry and headed over to get a drink while we waited on our laundry. Best decision ever! Anthony was wonderful and fun to be around. He also introduced us to several people who were there (some ex-pats, some locals, some tourists). We had a fabulous time chatting with folks, listening to music, and great drinks! We may have all been strangers but we quickly felt like friends. I can't wait to go back to Orvieto and visit Anthony at The Blue Bar!

15/10/2025: When I think of Orvieto, I don’t just think of truffle pasta or a glass of refreshing Orvieto Classico — I think of The Blue Bar, where we became instant locals and friends with people from all over at Anthony’s place. I think of laughing with strangers, walking down alleys lined with architecture worthy of a coffee table book. Orvieto — I hadn’t even heard your name a year ago, and now you wander through my mind (and my dreams) often. Cin cin. 🇮🇹💙🍷

17/11/2025: Rustic trattoria near Orvieto, also convenient for those traveling on the A1 motorway. Not just meat, but also hearty and tasty pasta dishes. Recommended.

15/11/2025: We discovered this restaurant while cycling past. We called and booked a table after reading some reviews. It's a family-friendly place, simple but very welcoming. The owner is friendly and available to offer suggestions on what and how much to order, as the portions are generous. The food is fantastic, from appetizers to first courses. The meat is excellent, excellent, excellent, and the desserts are a real treat. Superb value for money. We'll be back 👍

01/09/2025: We found this pizzeria using Google Maps. It had great reviews and we were very hungry. It was definitely a good choice, a nice waitress took care of us, we spoke English very well and even talked about the area. We definitely recommend it.

16/05/2025: This place was FANTASTIC — the service and experience was excellent. Kamal makes all the food fresh behind the counter, made to order and is so quick. Great place to stop for some hamburgers and hotdogs to take a break from the pasta. Although the pizza is to die for too! Our family went back twice in two days. Kamal is the best and very attentive. Would recommend!

01/04/2025: Good food, fast service, friendly owner. Kebab plate, kebab, pizza and mozzarella tomato sandwich satisfied all for a quick but tasty lunch. Plenty of space inside to sit.

13/10/2025: A good restaurant, but with a disappointing finish. The wait (not just for us, but for other tables as well) for payment, which lasted 30 minutes or more, was excessive. Maybe it was just Sunday.

16/09/2025: We went here as a tour group for a lunch, the food was traditional Umbriam food sourced locally, The place it self is off the beaten track and is reached by some steep and small lanes on a very twisty road, but don't be put off by this, the food was well prepared and tasted fab, all washed down with a choice of wines. We were placed in a part of the restaurant which afforded some amazing views of the country side, all in all the effort to get here was well worth it. Staff were lovely and helpful. I am not too sure how the meal cost as it was included in our tour price, plus it was a set meal, so we didn't choose from a menu, but if anything is to go by, I would say what ever you pay would be worth it.

14/11/2025: I had dinner with my partner and we had a great time... the menu is a bit limited but the quality is good, the tagliatelle with white truffle is divine! Excellent bread and superb cheeses, friendly and kind staff, elegant atmosphere... I recommend it!

13/11/2025: The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I've been going there more for lunch than in the evening. The food is excellent, always made with top-quality ingredients and unique flavors. Highly recommended, even for those who want to try dishes outside of Orvieto's traditional cuisine. The octopus soup is exceptional.

11/11/2025: Excellent Lunch ! Friendly, Professional Service. Pappardelle w/ Goose Ragu. Flavor and cooked perfectly. Roast Rabbit "Porchetta". On a bed of delicious sautéed spinach - excellent flavor and simple presentation. Superb! Ribollita. As thick as it gets and flavorful. A flavorful Mesclun Salad w/Goodies and EVOO. Lemon Torte & Cherry Cake with a perfect Espresso Macchiato. Two glasses of local wine & a bottle of water. 95€ - worth every penny. Bravo !
