I Sette Consoli In Orvieto

I've known this restaurant for 6 years and returned to it on May 2nd for the 5th time (in October 2022 I also celebrated my birthday there) and I must say that the experience is always magnificent. It's the ideal way to escape the tourist chaos of Orvieto, especially in the midst of a long holiday like May 1st. The dinner was truly excellent, with masterful preparations of Umbrian cuisine and more; an excellent wine list; impeccable and very friendly service. Even though I'm not a regular visitor, I admit that returning is always a wonderful experience! See you soon!

A very pleasant restaurant with excellent service. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, making you feel comfortable from the very first moment. The atmosphere in the summer garden is especially lovely — cozy, calm, and beautiful, with a mandarin tree adding a unique charm and warmth. A perfect place for a relaxed dining experience.

I had the pleasure of dining at I Sette Consoli in Orvieto, and I must say it was an experience that left me with mixed feelings, but overall, very interesting. As soon as you enter, you immediately realize you're not in just any restaurant: there's an almost obsessive attention to detail. They welcome you with attention, small gestures that make you feel cared for, almost pampered. The service is elegant, knowledgeable, and never intrusive, and that's very important to me. You can sense a certain "education towards beauty," which I personally appreciate. The cuisine is definitely the highlight. The dishes are carefully crafted, with a balance between tradition and creativity that's not always easy to find. Some flavors really stuck with me, a sign of both technique and passion for the ingredients. This isn't ordinary cuisine, and perhaps it's not for everyone: you have to be willing to let yourself be guided. The wine list is also excellent, truly extensive and intelligently designed. It's clear it's not there for show, but to truly accompany your experience. That said, there are a few less exciting aspects. At times, I felt the atmosphere was a bit stiff, almost too formal. And when a place is so attentive to form, it doesn't take much to lose a hint of human warmth. Furthermore, the prices are high: partly justified by the experience, but still worth considering. In short, it's one of those restaurants worth trying at least once, especially if you're looking for something different. It's not just a dinner, it's an experience. But you have to go in with the right mindset: that of someone who wants to be surprised, without necessarily expecting simplicity.

We had a wonderful lunch. The food was exquisite and the service impeccable. I highly recommend ordering the cheeses. We tried eight of them and they were all delicious, as were the jams. All the dishes were delicious (risotto, lamb, fish, etc.). I will definitely be back.

We had the tasting menu with matching wines. Definitely worth a try.

A Monday night to remember! We chose this restaurant for a quiet dinner. Elegant atmosphere Excellent service Excellent cuisine and ingredients. Explanation of the dishes, truly commendable wine selection. A very pleasant evening. Since we're nearby, we'll gladly return.

A very private restaurant, in a quiet atmosphere; even too quiet. No one was talking, only the waiters could be heard, because there was an air of anxiety about how refined they wanted to be. That "I want to but I can't" kind of place, in fact, the food was good but nothing special. Small portions at high prices in my opinion. A positive note is that they allow dogs; especially for tourists, it's convenient if you have a dog. Would I go back? Well. We didn't have a bad meal, but we won't remember it for the food, but rather for the anxiety we felt about talking 😂

Perfetto. Highly recommend. Service and food were both perfect. Probably one of our best dining experiences throughout Italy.

I'll start by saying that I don't usually write reviews, but this time I feel I must share our experience. I was at this restaurant a few days ago, along with two Japanese entrepreneurs and their interpreter, on the recommendation of a random person in Orvieto. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a decidedly cold welcome. A gentleman looked at us without saying anything, (and I didn't know if he was a member of staff or a supplier). I tried to break the deadlock and said I had a reservation. He asked us for our jackets, and without even a smile, he showed us to the table. The two Japanese people sensed the atmosphere wasn't particularly welcoming and asked me to order some first courses and wait for the second courses to see how things went. There were small dishes for oil on the table, and we asked to taste some. Then the waiter arrived, poured a teaspoon of oil, and immediately took the bottle away. We received the fettuccine with hare and... (I understand that we're not in a trattoria, but the portion was really too small.) I can't say I tasted the food well. Hare... (Not bad, but not good either) To add some flavor, I asked for a little oil to drizzle over the fettuccine. The waiter came over, quickly swirled the oil around, and took it away! Without leaving it at the table, and without even asking the others if they'd like a drizzle of oil. At that point, the Japanese asked me not to order second courses. And as soon as we finished the pasta, we got up and asked for the bill. I got the impression that it was a place that didn't create a sense of comfort. They asked for a lot, giving the bare minimum. I'm sorry because I didn't make a great impression, especially with these two guests, who often frequent fine dining establishments in Tokyo. In conclusion... after leaving the restaurant, we immediately went to another restaurant in the center, and had lunch as usual. That said, I don't advise against it... but that was just our impression. Too bad.
