Trattoria Tipica La pergola In Orvieto

We dined at this restaurant one evening in July and really enjoyed the setting and the small outdoor terrace. The restaurant is very well located. The cheese selection was excellent, and the dishes were also good. What struck us most was the service: a single waitress was responsible for both the indoor dining room and the terrace, and she was completely overwhelmed. We didn't experience any major wait times ourselves, but this was the case for many other tables, and we were very saddened to see this waitress struggling and doing absolutely everything she could to be efficient (which she was, but one waitress to manage everything was far too few!). Her distress somewhat spoiled the atmosphere, even though, again, she was truly doing her best. The only real weakness of this restaurant is the lack of staff.

A well-kept setting with a lovely veranda with a pergola and climbing plants. Excellent and beautifully presented food. We ate very well, excellent Umbrian dishes in a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. The staff was kind and helpful. The price was fair!

After a week in Tuscany, what a relief to enter Umbria and be treated with, not just bread made with salt, but a variety of housemade, naturally leavened breads and focaccia warm from the oven. The cheese spread was outstanding and unique. 8 varieties of goat, sheep and buffalo. Several mild enough for our daughter but still elegant, lovely and subtle. Potatoes were nicely cooked but a bit dry. Pastas were made in house and delicate. They made, specially for us, a vegetarian pappardelle with seasonal vegetables all cooked into a delicate yet hearty sauce with whole grain fresh pasta. Beautifully designed interior, clean bathroom, and a lovely server who took care of us.

Excellent pasta chingale and service

I don't usually leave bad reviews, but in this case I feel compelled... I left the restaurant feeling hungry. The prices were higher than average, and the food wasn't at all generous. I've never left a restaurant feeling hungry. If a restaurant costs more, but I leave feeling full and satisfied, that's fine, but if I have to leave feeling hungry and with a rumbling stomach, there's clearly a problem! You can't have such high prices for such a meager portion. If I order a plate of tagliatelle with truffles, you have to let me taste them. It's a shame, because the flavor is there, but you need to be more generous, because it's absurd! The ambiance, which is very nice, and the kindness of the waiters are the saving grace.

Excellent local cuisine, simple and delicious dishes, private and pleasant atmosphere

We went to dinner with some friends on Saturday evening, who had been wanting to try this place for a while and I have to say that Enrico and Charlotte created an excellent mix from starter to dessert. Congratulations... We will be back very soon.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The menu changes every time, showcasing local products. The ingredients are top-quality, from their homemade bread to the pasta dishes and desserts, like the delicious tiramisu. It's a must-try every time I pass through Orvieto. Highly recommended!
