It is worth the short walk up a side street; trust me on this. The trattoria specializes in Tuscan fare - recipes with wild boar, pigeon, and rabbit (though unfortunately rabbit was not available the day we stopped). My wife had Ombrichelli Porcini e Salsiccia - a hearty fresh pasta specific to Tuscany with mushrooms and sausage. I had the Tagliatelle con Cinghiale Ragu - tagliatelle with wild boar ragu. Both dishes exemplified the Italian culinary ethos of letting the ingredients shine - each a distinct entity that melds harmoniously into a symphony of flavor to create a whole that truly is more than the sum of its parts. So, for example, my wife’s mushroom dish was not distinctly mushroom flavored, but the mushrooms added their bit to the overall dish, which would have been lesser without them. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter - who may well have been one of the owners given the level of service provided - was friendly and accommodating in my desire to practice some of my Italian. 08/07/2026: Especially these days, it's very difficult to combine three generations in a provincial restaurant, but there are those who have succeeded! I've known the place (a trattoria, then a restaurant) since the 1990s. The only common thread is the quality and authenticity of the products on the menu. Once upon a time, a plate of pasta, macaroni, umbrichelle, puff pastry, strictly handmade, flour, eggs, water, a pinch of salt, as per Umbrian tradition. Today, a first course worthy of the name! A second course, a side dish, and so on, including wine, water, a tablecloth (certainly not made of TNT), and everything else needed to ensure the customer enjoys a pleasant moment in life in absolute harmony with the food, all while always pampered by a skilled and professional service aimed at maximizing the exaltation of the culinary art, an art which, not coincidentally, is expressed by a wise woman and a chef who graduated from the Orvieto hotel school with excellent grades.

07/07/2026: Does everything work here? Yes, it's all super! Futuristic cellar! Here you can find niche wines that don't comply with EEC standards, made by courageous winemakers who still dare to dream. This must be given credit to those who manage wine with dedication and passion (increasingly rare today). What about the dishes? Seasonal, high-quality raw materials. Simplicity of flavors served with absolute expertise and hints of creativity... what more could you want in a lunch/dinner? When you get up from the table and ask yourself if you enjoyed it? And you answer yes, you did.

08/07/2026: A historic, traditional trattoria on a small street in the center. Very comfortable atmosphere. The menu features a few typical dishes, virtually unchanged for years. Fast, friendly service. Prices are moderately high, but that's acceptable considering the location.

07/07/2026: Simply one of the best restaurants I've ever been to! The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The staff is very friendly. The food is clearly excellent; the truffle pasta is amazing, the pigeon is to die for, and the panna cotta is divine! Well done to the whole team, I recommend it 100%. Note: It's best to make a reservation or arrive as soon as they open to be sure of getting a table.

01/07/2026: Beautiful experience!!! 😍 we had two pizzas, which even if they weren't wood-fired, were really good (gorgonzola and pear pizza was special and tasty! 😋). Peach dessert with ice cream, fabulous!!! 🫶🏻 The owner and all the staff were really kind and knowledgeable!! It was a beautiful and super romantic experience!!! 🥰 👏🏻 really well done!!!

16/06/2026: We had 2 meals from and at Charlie Ristorante. 1 - a takeaway pizza that was wonderful and delicious 2 - a sit down meal in the ristorante that was simply spectacular. We’ve been travelling through Italy for nearly a month and this place is one of the best places we’ve dined at. We highly recommended eating here.

27/07/2026: A great little shop for a sandwich with typical local products, it's currently located at the entrance to Via Magioni coming from the cathedral. Recommended if you're looking for something simple.

26/07/2026: Excellent sandwich in the alleys of Orvieto. Great for a quick stop. Tasty cured meats and exceptional bread from Marcolino from Garbatella.

29/06/2026: We got married at Castello di Titignano - and cannot recommend it enough. The Castello, the scenary and the view is amazing, however, the people and staff is what made the experience so special. The staff made our days magical - from the amazing food to the sweet team. Really cannot recommend Castello di Titignano enough - all our guests were blown away and we were as well. Special thanks to Fiorenza and Chiara from Titignano, who really made the impossible possible ❤️

13/07/2026: The sheep are sheared, not skinned. You are excellent shearers. The food is excellent, high quality, and the price is lower than what you'd expect. I'll be back and sending friends (I already have), who have confirmed it. The food should have substance, not overdo it like others do. I eat for art, I go to the museum. Well done!

07/07/2026: We took a break from our journey for lunch and had a delicious meal. The food we delicious, particularly the pasta with boar and also the pasta with black truffle. The view iof Orvieto s also beautiful. This is definitely somewhere we'll try to visit again.

06/12/2025: It's now our regular stop, especially after summer motorcycle rides when we can't wait to cool off. Come rain, shine, or winter, we always come here for some excellent ice cream. The new flavors I offer are always amazing and very unique.

02/06/2026: Disrespectful to tourists. I was alone, looking for good, authentic food, and waited over 30 minutes. The owner barely looked at me; other Italians called him over, telling him I was waiting. When he finally attended to me, even though there were two empty tables, he wouldn't let me sit down, saying he was waiting for other Italians to arrive. After waiting an hour, he said I would be seated in 30 minutes, but the restaurant closed in 15 minutes... I went to the restaurant next door, Al Pozzo, where the service was much better and the food was excellent.

25/04/2026: My friend Antonio and I wanted to get coffee. The bar was closed, but the owner, who was incredibly friendly (sorry, I didn't ask his name), said no problem. I was mopping the floor, but come in and I'll make you a coffee. The coffee was excellent!!! Then in the evening we came back for grappa and an Amora. Wonderful place! Thank you!!!

13/01/2026: An average restaurant, but unfortunately, it didn't leave any particular impressions. The tagliata didn't live up to expectations; it's hard to even classify it. Basic service, pleasant atmosphere, two rooms, one more welcoming, the other less so... overall, the experience was rather unimpressive. It's a shame, because there are definitely better options in the Orvieto area.

07/01/2026: Great restaurant! The menu is consistent with the area and local traditions. The first courses were excellent, especially the tagliatelle. We really appreciated the quality of the pasta and its cooking. The service was fast and friendly. Reservations are recommended, as the place filled up quickly. Although the town is small and easy to navigate, the restaurant is conveniently located. A good choice considering the quality and price, even though ours was a quick and simple lunch.

03/04/2026: The dishes are both delicious and visually stunning, and truly exceptional. Some are even experimental, blending diverse culinary traditions with classic Italian cuisine. The interior is stylishly modern and very cozy, with chill jazz playing in the background. The staff is very friendly (especially with children)! Not overpriced! Update 2026 (8 years later): Nothing has changed! On the contrary, it might even be a touch better :)

03/04/2026: The truffle pasta at the restaurant recommended by the guide was delicious. However, ordering at an Italian restaurant felt a bit awkward. I clearly ordered just one pasta dish, but a fried egg came out with it, and the price was similar to the pasta. I was shocked. I don't know if I just mindlessly said okay, but it didn't feel good. I turned around thinking it was a relief since the food was good, but did they pull a trick on me for a moment? Anyway, make sure to check the box stating that you are only eating this when ordering.
