Trattoria La Palomba In Orvieto

A historic, traditional trattoria on a small street in the center. Very comfortable atmosphere. The menu features a few typical dishes, virtually unchanged for years. Fast, friendly service. Prices are moderately high, but that's acceptable considering the location.

Simply one of the best restaurants I've ever been to! The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The staff is very friendly. The food is clearly excellent; the truffle pasta is amazing, the pigeon is to die for, and the panna cotta is divine! Well done to the whole team, I recommend it 100%. Note: It's best to make a reservation or arrive as soon as they open to be sure of getting a table.

We were looking for authentic local cuisine, and Trattoria "La Palomba" exceeded all expectations. Run by the same family since 1965, this trattoria is located on Via Manente, one of the most characteristic and charming streets in Orvieto's historic center. Our dinner began with an excellent house antipasto misto, perfect for sharing so two could sample a little bit of everything. Next, we both opted for tagliatelle: the ones with chicken giblets, chosen by my wife, were exceptional, a dish with an authentic flavor that evoked childhood memories and the aromas of times gone by. The real surprise, however, was the mixed cheese platter of sheep's and goat's milk cheeses: such a carefully selected selection that alone would be worth the entire visit. The flavors range from delicate notes like lavender cheese to the intense and bold flavor of fosso cheese. Everything was magnificently paired with an excellent Orvieto Classico Superiore and concluded with a traditional Umbrian bitter. A perfect evening in every way: the atmosphere, the quality of the food, and the attentive service. The bill was also absolutely fair and affordable. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!

This place is a true gem hidden away in a beautiful, quiet alley that instantly lets you escape the hustle and bustle. If you love truffles, this is an absolute must-visit. The truffle pasta we ordered was pure perfection-flawlessly cooked, authentic, and rich with the incredible aroma of fresh truffles. To top it off, they have an excellent wine selection that pairs beautifully with the dishes. Amazing food, an intimate location, and an unforgettable evening. Highly recommended!
