13/04/2026: A rustic restaurant in true Umbrian style, with a simple menu but tasty, authentic dishes. The tagliatelle are excellent. I'll be back to try the chicken fricó. The house wine is drinkable and pleasant. Special mention goes to the young waiter, who was polite and quick. Recommended!

This osteria is an absolute temple of pure, traditional Umbrian cuisine, the kind of cuisine that has been passed down through generations—TRUE cuisine. It's a wonderful place, staffed by exceptional and special people. Incredible elements and flavor combinations are the best you could wish for. All these elements are brought to life by the heart and soul of the incredible and talented Chef and owner. He possesses an absolute, top-notch technique that allows him to craft ingredients like very few others, resulting in dishes that are beyond unique and incredibly flavorful. For the owner-chef, perfection is a fundamental concept, and he strives to surpass it, ALWAYS. The expertly crafted ingredients, beyond perfection, blend seamlessly with the highest-quality raw materials, used with incredible skill. The dishes intoxicate the palate and the senses...everything is a caress for the soul. The ingredients were cooked sublimely. A tip: Umbricoli with Reggiano and black truffle. I have NEVER eaten better Umbricoli in my life! Here, the cuisine and drink, rigorously traditional, are a true art, a journey through sight, smell, and taste, but above all through the feelings and emotions that the Chef, preparing dishes unlike any other, evokes in those who enjoy them. This wonderful place is pure, more than unique, talent. Emotions of the soul were enhanced by the smiles and infinite kindness of the wonderful Giulia, who manages the dining room service with extreme skill. Giulia's service is characterized by an above-average level of preparation, professionalism, kindness, courtesy, friendliness, and absolute precision. La Locanda del Tartufo is a continuous flow of flavors and emotions that begin with the consistency of the ingredients used and then culminate in the perfection of the evolution from the first bite. Two elements predominate: the preparation technique and the highest-quality raw materials. This quality standard allows the customer to fully enjoy the flavors. The ingredients are crucial in enhancing the flavors, which, in the mouth, appear clean and full-bodied, yet delicate and persistent. La Locanda del Tartufo is a place where time stands still and everything becomes a dream come true. The quality of the products is probably one of the three best I've ever experienced in my life. Everything that comes from the Chef's hands is impeccable, and you'll discover unique details you won't find anywhere else. Culatello...it's so delicious! 20/12/2025: We spent 5 days in Gubbio and came here 4 of the 5! Twice for dinner and twice just to enjoy some fantastic wine before dinner elsewhere. The owner is very personable and knowledgeable...loves to talk with you about wines of the region and makes great recommendations. We were made to feel as welcome as if we were his local regulars! They will open many different wines by the glass...more so than other places we have been that limit what they are willing to open. The wine selection is outstanding and the charcuterie board a delicious sampling of regional meats, cheeses and accompaniments. We particularly loved the Cresia which can be made with toppings of your choice..."bacon" and onion for us was heaven! We sat inside but they also have a nice heated area outside. Please don't miss this spot on your visit to Gubbio...even better, stop here first to get great information about what you may want to experience while exploring wine in Umbria. If only I could have put this shop in my suitcase and taken it home with me!

The downstairs dining room is welcoming, and the fireplace added a charming touch to the experience. There were 12 of us at the table, and everyone was satisfied. Recommended.

01/04/2026: Our family with three small children had a great experience at the Taverna del Lupo. The manager/owner went out of their way to find a candle and sing for our middle child who was celebrating their birthday. The food was excellent, and the opportunity to sample different types of typical plates from Gubbio should not be missed!

08/03/2026: We stayed at this country hotel on a half-board basis (breakfast and dinner). Our room was clean and well-maintained, with beautiful stone walls and exposed wooden beams. Both split air conditioning and fan coil units were available. Our bathroom had a bathtub with a shower and a hairdryer. Sky TV and good Wi-Fi, considering there would otherwise be no internet access. A generous breakfast, both sweet and savory, was served self-service, while hot drinks were served at the table by the staff. The restaurant adjacent to the country hotel is where we dined on two evenings. The menu features mostly meat-based dishes, including local specialties, and is delicious and generous in portions. The location is also very convenient, with good access to the highway, making it easy to reach Perugia, Assisi, and other destinations.

28/03/2026: The inn is nice and spacious, the waiters are kind and helpful with everything, the food is good and tasty, the pappardelle with porcini mushrooms were delicious.

22/03/2026: We had dinner this evening at Locanda del Duca. My nephew was welcomed and pampered by Roberta, who served us and explained the dishes with the utmost care and attention. The dishes were truly divine, made with excellent ingredients. A truly wonderful discovery.
