The intimate rooms, the unfussy plasterwork, the quiet pace of the service: everything contributes to an atmosphere of Tuscan composure that invites you to slow down, to listen to the dishes and their timing rather than the buzz of the street. It's not just a restaurant but a historic address in the city, open since 1870 and tied to the gastronomic heritage of Prato, nestled in a fifteenth-century building. In the gestures and rhythm of the dining room, you can sense the family continuity that has made Baghino a small institution in the city. The cuisine speaks a clear language: Tuscan in character, Prato in cadence. Moderate cooking, clear flavors, seasonings kept under control to let the raw ingredients take center stage. Among the house's signature dishes are the "Sedani alla Pratese," a paradigm of regional comfort food, and the Florentine steak, expertly prepared: a well-defined crust, a juicy center, and intelligently measured salt. This is a restaurant that doesn't strive for effect, but rather entrusts emotion to the continuity of the gesture and a tradition that never seems stale here. 05/11/2025: I didn't know this restaurant and I celebrated my birthday by bringing 20 people but unfortunately things didn't go well, in fact, we started off badly right away by asking for a wine and they brought something else even after we mentioned it, the appetizers arrived and I think it was a sad sight as well as being poor. Then we ordered a first and second course each but always very disappointing and poor, not to mention the €180 for two cakes to say the least scandalous..... the bill arrived €75 each. I consider this the worst dinner in recent years. Absolutely avoid, quality/price out of proportion. Avoid it.

There's a wide selection of first and second courses; the food is good and has a homely flavor. You can order takeaway by scanning the QR code that displays the daily menu. The ladies at the counter are extremely kind and friendly.

21/06/2025: Quiet lunch break with fresh and tasty food! Air-conditioned environment and excellent for these hot days, we met with four friends, two of us ordered panzanella and farro salad, both very fresh, with raw vegetables in their natural state, I took the stuffed tomatoes, the other the pork loin with grilled vegetables. 07/12/2025: We already knew the restaurant from having dined there several times. The ingredients have always been excellent, especially the excellent homemade pasta and their cured meats. For these reasons, we chose it to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday, and as always, we had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, the service was equally excellent, the staff was always very friendly, and, given the adequate number of guests, we were able to reserve a private room. For the occasion, we spoke with Lucrezia, whom we thank, and a special thanks also to the young woman who took care of the dining room service (whose name, unfortunately, we don't know). Massimo

07/12/2025: I wasn't familiar with this place. I saw the ad on TikTok and it immediately piqued my curiosity. I came here for my birthday. The girl was very kind and offered me three menus at different prices. Well, what can I say..... Gorgeous place, delicious and plentiful food, and they were very kind (they even thought of the candle). €35 for a mega appetizer, which I was fine with, two main courses, dessert, sparkling wine, coffee, and wine. I'm sorry, but I can't find any faults.

22/08/2025: Delicious pizza as always. The low-carb dough is super light and easy to digest, and the pizzas are thin and large. They're always very friendly.

18/03/2025: Excellent food, the Livorno-style cod was delicious, and the prices were average. We had a fried artichoke, a picio cacio pepe e tartufo, a cod, two desserts, half a liter of house wine, water, and coffee. We spent €60. I'd go back.

10/08/2025: We were passing through on our way back from Abetone at 5:45 a.m., and it was the only open bar we found for breakfast. The pastries and cappuccino were excellent. The owner was really friendly. And just steps away is the first bridge in Italy built from wood and iron, dating back to the late 1800s. If you're passing by, it's worth stopping by.
