25/07/2026: Enchanting location, but disappointing service The restaurant is in a charming location, right on the salt flats, ideal for admiring a magnificent sunset. Unfortunately, our anniversary dinner was a decidedly disappointing experience. We ordered a second course and a first course of busiate allo scoglio pasta with mussels, shrimp, and clams. The pasta sauce left us extremely disappointed: there were about 12 completely closed clams on the plate, and the only three open ones were empty, as were the mussels. In fact, there were no mollusks on the plate. As is well known, healthy, live clams open naturally with the heat of cooking; if they remain closed, it means the mollusk was already dead before being cooked and should absolutely not be forced. We sent the dish back and informed the restaurant manager to have it remade. Shortly thereafter, a waiter informed us that even if we remade the pasta, the clams would still be closed. He confessed that the problem was known and that all the clams from that supplier remained closed, and offered to change the dish. I find it unacceptable that the staff, already aware of the poor quality of the ingredients, still decided to serve the dish to raise money, rather than notify the customer of its unavailability when ordering. Due to this disorganization, my husband dined alone, and I ate my replacement dish later. I received no apology, not even a symbolic gesture, such as offering just a coffee. Beautiful location, but kitchen and customer management needs rethinking...

24/06/2026: A nice restaurant with friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was very good overall, and the quality of the ingredients was impressive. Unfortunately, the pizzas weren't quite to our personal taste, but that's a matter of personal preference. Nevertheless, we had a lovely visit and would recommend the restaurant.

29/05/2026: I'm giving this hotel five stars because I've only ever seen such meticulously clean rooms and spaces in Dubai! We stayed as a couple and enjoyed breakfast. The atmosphere is intimate, just how we like it. Just steps from the sea. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

15/07/2026: Review update in response to the restaurant owners' comment posted today, July 15, 2026 I acknowledge your response, but I reject the insinuations that I have "problems to resolve elsewhere." I consider this statement disrespectful to a customer who simply shared his experience. I would like to point out that this was my second visit to your restaurant under the new management. I wasn't satisfied with my first experience, but I wanted to trust you and give you a second chance. Unfortunately, I should have followed my instincts. I confirm what you wrote: the pizza was, in my opinion, inedible, burned, with completely dry salami and a rubbery crust. The swordfish was a dried-out slice and far from what one would expect. I also confirm the service: my husband had already finished his meal when my pizza arrived, and, while we waited, tables that had arrived after us were served. As for the bitterness, it wasn't a financial complaint. We would have paid for it without any problem, but it was obvious they were out of stock, and only a drop was served. It was right not to charge for it. When asked if the pizza was okay, I said no and explained why. I was offered to remake it, but I declined because, having also looked at the pizzas served at other tables, I believed the result would be the same. My reviews are always authentic. When I have a good experience, I write it with enthusiasm, as demonstrated by the reviews published for Ristorante Paguro in Balestrate and La Conchiglia - Approdo dei Saraceni. I have no interest in harming anyone. Criticism, if expressed politely, should be welcomed as an opportunity for improvement and not as a personal attack. This has simply been my experience, and I continue to uphold it.

01/06/2026: Our stay at Tarantola was truly unforgettable. The setting was picturesque, the team was so kind and helpful (despite our limited Italian), the location was perfect to explore the Northern coast, and the food was hands down the best we’ve had in Sicily. We will probably be talking about those dinners for the rest of our lives! The menu was different, creative, and impeccable every night of our three night stay (and an incredible value). We can’t recommend highly enough!

24/05/2026: Perfect Sunday at the Tarantola farmhouse. ​We stayed at this farmhouse nestled in the Alcamo countryside today and were speechless! ​The food is delicious and incredibly plentiful: the appetizers were endless, with so many courses, and the caponata was truly amazing, out of this world! The first and second courses were equally excellent. ​The location is enchanting: all the greenery surrounding the property is meticulously cared for, and the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. The staff is fantastic, incredibly kind and welcoming. Excellent price.

26/06/2026: We tried the caponata, the pasta with scampi and red shrimp cream, and the octopus with almond pesto, all accompanied by an excellent Grillo Bianco. At the end of the evening, they offered us Marsala and biscotti. Every dish was delicious. Located in the city center, with a large outdoor terrace, it's recommended for those who want to dine in peace and enjoy masterfully prepared local delicacies.

21/09/2025: Wow, this was a great find. Interesting dishes that presented well and were delicious. This is a hidden gem in an area with tourist traps. It is set a few streets over so it is off the beaten path but very much worth it. Our service was exceptional too.

The pizza is truly excellent, with fresh, quality ingredients and a light, tasty dough. You can taste the attention to detail in the preparation. A special thanks also to Aurelia, who served us with kindness, professionalism, and always with a smile, making us feel at ease right away. The quality-price ratio was also excellent. Definitely a place to return to and one I recommend to anyone passing through Calatafimi Segesta! 👏🍕

06/07/2026: Update: Returned to Castelvetrano in June to volunteer for the fourth year in a row, and again lucky to dine at this wonderful restaurant ! Everything is STILL as great as it was my first time here in 2023 !!! This trip I decided to share a pizza with another volunteer, and we asked for a side salad. It was a perfect combo !! I was told this restaurant has THE BEST PIZZA in Castelvetrano - and it is TRUE ! So many choices and our group of 18 people tried probably all of them on our many visits there. My favorite was the Pepata - nice little kick to it without being overpowering. Add a draft beer and you are in pizza heaven. 18 pizzas came out quickly and all together - no one had to wait more than a minute or two and we all ate together. Looking forward to going back.
