16/03/2026: Every time I go to Sicily, I bring home packages of fresh pasta. The incredibly kind staff wraps it up especially for me. As soon as I get home, I freeze it all so I have a supply for a while! I recommend trying the maccheroni filati (I hope I didn't get the name wrong), it's fantastic with ragù.

23/02/2026: I bought fresh pasta (tagliatelle) and sauce (ragù) with high expectations, but I was disappointed. I understand that making ragù may seem easy, but I'm very picky! The pasta was too soft and lost its consistency when cooked, the sauces tasted rather bland and unbalanced, and I also had to wait forever, even though I'd ordered everything in advance.

03/05/2026: I had high expectations for this historic restaurant located opposite the church of San Sebastiano in Acireale. Indeed, it had been recommended to me as it is renowned for its artisanal granitas and Sicilian pastries. Naturally, given the season and the beautiful day, we opted for the granitas, especially the pistachio one, as recommended. The arancini and cipolline were very popular. The restaurant appears traditional and welcoming, with indoor and outdoor seating (the chairs are wrought iron, a bit subdued). The location is quite charming, with a view of the church and the main street of Acireale, a pedestrian area at least on Sundays. The atmosphere is friendly and clean, and the service is noteworthy. The granita was excellent, definitely among the best in the Catania area. The brioches (or brioches) were also very good and, above all, fresh. It's a shame we weren't able to try the fruit flavors, given the season, but we'll be back. Prices are largely average, in fact, perhaps a little less (or better). Definitely worth a stop or a quick visit.

08/04/2026: The interior is quaint. Unfortunately, the outside is a spartan structure with awnings, plastic tables, and chairs, with barely adequate lighting, which could use a makeover. But the real problem is the staff: unhelpful, they don't make customers feel comfortable. I ordered a plate of spaghetti with sea urchins, which was literally drowned in oil. Remembering the glories of the past, I expected much more. I'm unlikely to return.

09/04/2026: The meal was excellent. The portions were generous, and whether it was the pasta or the pizza, we thoroughly enjoyed it! The service was very attentive. Parking was easy. I highly recommend it.

31/03/2026: Tried it as a pizzeria, a place that has been completely revamped compared to several years ago. Service and wait times are acceptable despite the place being packed. Excellent pizza (Neapolitan dough for those who like it) with a wide selection and reasonable prices. Try the fish on your next visit.

14/09/2025: We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday at this location. The hostess was very kind and helpful. We felt right at home... the food was very good. We spent €37 per person for a menu consisting of an aperitif, various appetizers, a first course, cake, fruit, and unlimited drinks. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for just one reason: during the evening, they had a problem in the kitchen that made the pasta sauce we had chosen unusable. So they had to improvise with a first course made with what they had, which unfortunately turned out very dry (not to mention that it was with mushrooms, which I don't eat, and they didn't even ask us if it was okay as an alternative). However, the thing that left me feeling "a bit so" is that, despite the inconvenience of the first course (even though I understand that it was obviously not wanted or expected), we weren't even given a €1 discount 😅. And honestly, we all expected that. Or at least I, as a business owner, would have done so.

02/08/2025: We had dinner at Villa delle Palme on Friday, August 1st. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed by Caterina and her daughter in their villa surrounded by greenery. The location was beautiful, the buffet excellent, everything authentic and well-cooked by Caterina, who was very friendly and welcoming. We will return as soon as possible.

Forty years ago, it was the first sandwich shop to open in this area, introducing a more open gastronomic culture, one that embraced the new trends that defined the generations of that era—styles and customs that have indelibly marked the worlds of music, film, and fashion, leaving no room for restaurant dining. In our view, this historic business is one that deserves much more consideration, often even more so than its more recent counterparts. The reasons are simple: we primarily focus on the expertise, availability, and skills of our staff, elements that are the foundation of any business where customer relations are essential. The selection of top-quality products, which must never be lacking, is evident in all the dishes served, from starters like chips to pinsa (a type of pasta), and other dishes. The clean, bright, and distinctive setting creates a pleasant atmosphere and is ideal for a quiet, intimate dinner, but also perfect for small groups, with the small outdoor deck and the indoor dining room that also features a mezzanine with additional seating. We highly recommend this restaurant because there's nothing spectacular about it, and our vision always reflects simplicity, as our readers will have noticed. Although it's a simple sandwich shop, it has the experience to manage the dining room, kitchen, payments, reservations, delivery service, and all the other services of the establishment, which are always under control. This can only lead to positive results, especially considering the politeness and courtesy evident in discussions between staff and customers, which already contributed to much of our absolutely positive rating and represent a recommendation for a normal, yet perfect, experience in our beloved Acireale.
