For the entire dinner, we were no longer in Italy, but rather guests in the home of a delightful Indian family. We left the table satisfied, but with an irresistible desire to return and try what we hadn't been able to order.

18/07/2026: We arrived in Catania on July 6th for vacation, and unfortunately, the bar was closed until July 14th. We waited all day to get there, and we weren't disappointed! This place feels like home! You're welcomed and enveloped in a love of beer! Owner Fabio has a fantastic approach to this business. Unfortunately, the beer selection was very limited, but that didn't spoil the experience.

The atmosphere is incredible: beautiful background music and the owner singing and making everyone smile. I absolutely recommend this place to everyone! I'll definitely be back.

15/07/2026: We chose "La Solitaria" for our 25th anniversary because we were confident in the quality of its dishes and the freshness of its fish. This was complemented by the great professionalism and helpfulness of Salvo, Vera, and the entire staff, who, with care and attention, accommodated our every wish. 15/07/2026: We went because we'd seen it on a lot of blogs, and it was definitely worth it. We had a reservation and a very cozy table. To start, we ordered four red prawns, which are sold by weight at €80 per kg, and they were quite good, very fresh. We also shared fried mussels, which were also good, but I would have preferred stuffed mussels because the filling kept falling apart and you could almost eat them separately. And the rice was a delicacy, absolutely delicious. Every bite was an explosion of flavor; I highly recommend that dish.

08/07/2026: Nice atmosphere and great location. Outside seating is comfortable and off the loud street. The fish is fresh and cooked deliciously! SKIP The assorted warm appetizer .. seems it’s not that fresh, none of our party enjoyed it. Go straight for the mains! We ordered the daily catch, grilled, to be split with the table (grouper) and one seafood pasta. - excellent!

24/07/2026: This is authentic Sicilian Italian food. The grill is amazing. The meats aren't dry, but juicy. All the restaurants in the center of Catania are second to none. They cater to tourists, but the cooking isn't Italian. There's a nice local atmosphere. The grill man really knows his stuff. The service is also great. I recommend the antipasti—it's truly amazing. We've tried many restaurants, but we always come back here. Fantastico e molto buono. Greetings from Poland.

We tried several different dishes, including grilled meat, pasta, risotto, and fresh fish. The fish, grilled overcharcoal on the street, was well prepared and flavorful. The pasta and risotto were cooked properly with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors, and the meat dishes were also enjoyable. If you’re looking for authentic Sicilian cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant is an excellent choice. Highly recommend!

28/06/2026: Very good, but the bill adds up quickly. The appetizer platter was good. The Spritz was a bit watered down with ice. And the service charge, like in many businesses, is added to the bill.

25/06/2026: Discovered before reading the reviews. We can only echo what people said about this place. A gem in Catania! The best place we went to. The food is DELICIOUS. Lorenzo is simply an amazing host! Great place to begin a trip in Sicily and to enjoy local food and wine.

The au gratin mussels are spectacular, flavorful, incredibly fresh, and prepared to perfection—it's impossible to find better! Much credit goes to Sergio, the owner, who is always kind, helpful, and attentive to his customers. You can sense the passion he puts into his restaurant and his choice of ingredients. Exceptional value: you pay the right amount and leave more than satisfied. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves good seafood and generous portions!
