Pizza (an ancient Latin saying, "you can't cut it without a care"), terrible service, a shame about the place, which is truly beautiful, both inside and out.
But the pizza wasn't good at all! I had heartburn for days.
I'll never come again.
27/05/2026: Let's get straight to the point...you have to travel a bit from Palermo to get to this place, but as soon as they bring you the cudduruni (especially the homemade version), you forget the road...the toppings are truly delicious and the dough is excellent. The place is well-kept, very spacious, and equipped with two ovens that ensure speedy service. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Nothing to complain about, not even about the bill...practically half that of a pizzeria in the city. Highly recommended.

09/04/2026: Great restaurant. Affordable prices and absolutely lovely taste! We had Calamari alla Siciliana and pizza Gazela, both really scrumptious.
Really close to the city centre so it's really worth the walk. The toilets are clean and smell nice.

01/06/2026: Before reviewing this place, we need to start with one thing: it's a trattoria, and should be treated as such. Anyone looking for a luxury restaurant should probably look elsewhere. We found a family-friendly atmosphere, simple, well-prepared food, excellent pizza, excellent local Grillo, and prices consistent with what's on offer. In a historic center full of trendy and flashy venues, here you can still breathe a genuine atmosphere made of genuine people, friendliness, and unfussy hospitality.
Warm greetings to the owners of Trattoria Romantica from the large family from the province of Rome. Thank you for your hospitality and for putting up with us until late. When an evening is pleasant, time flies... 😄🍷

Valeria, the waitress, is very friendly.
In short, a great place.

02/02/2026: It used to be excellent, but now they seem tired. Arancini with uncooked rice, the inside cold, but still tasty.
Schiacciata with spinach: boiled spinach, unsalted and not sautéed in oil and garlic. It tasted bland.
Pizza: overall good. The sweet sauce was fine. But the mix instead of mozzarella... no way.

18/09/2025: We stayed for two days, and Valeria and Nino's hospitality and helpfulness were simply fantastic. The kids had fun right away, and we truly felt at home. We highly recommend this experience and will definitely be back. Thank you so much!

The strong point of this B&B is the hosts: a couple who are always available, welcoming, and smiling.
We loved the pool and the location (sea view and close to Sant'Agata di Militello).
We'll be back!!!

10/05/2026: I attended my niece's birthday/baptism party last night. Everything was perfect, from the welcome, to the impeccable service, to the fantastic food, and the wonderful location inside the beautiful Umberto I pizza place in Avola. It was my first time here, but I will definitely be back.

The space was cramped, cramped, and we were even seated right next to the oven (we came home looking like living pizzas). We waited two hours for a pizza. The pizzas were made in a non-wood-fired oven, burned, and with a sauce that looked like anything but sauce...
Mozzarella that wasn't mozzarella, but probably stretched curd or pizza mix.
HORRIBLE PIZZAS, the worst I've ever eaten.
I'll leave aside the comment about the chips and croquettes, but we left all that stuff on our plates.

You can sit inside, although there's not much space.
31/01/2026: My go-to pizzeria! Wide selection of pizzas, top-quality ingredients, and always generous toppings. My favorites are the Caprese Super and the Intellectual, which I absolutely recommend because they're truly exceptional.
The staff is always friendly and helpful, especially Carmen... so much so that I ended up marrying her! 😄
