11/04/2026: A very salty dinner in Bari! We were treated like tourists, without a doubt: 1 bottle of wine, 2 orange juices, and 2 beers Appetizers for 4 6 braciole (braciole) with plenty of sauce 3 desserts €180 - I'd say the bill was more than a little steep, given that in Bari, a portion of braciole (braciole) without pasta should usually be two braciole, not one braciole with sauce for two braciole. Simply a rude way of doing things, e.g., the bread arrived at the end of the appetizer.

19/04/2026: Definitely a total disappointment, it's not "Da Donato" the place is full in every seat and every shift only because it's dragged by the name but nowadays you eat better pizza in many other less renowned pizzerias in Bari, the service is fast but unfortunately through no fault of the people serving them they have to rush and therefore leaves much to be desired in the explanation of the raw materials and they decline to recommend, booked for 6 people they made us sit at a table so small that our legs were bumping between us and the waiters juggled to try not to drop the plates on our heads while we slalom between the tables, a completely unexpected experience.

06/04/2026: We went to this place on Easter Sunday, and I have to say it was a negative experience in every way. From the service to the organization, to the chef and the staff. I was left with a 4-year-old daughter begging for a first-come, first-served meal at 3:30 pm after many requests! Absolutely not recommended!

19/04/2026: For lunch on a Friday, I chose to stop at this pizzeria-trattoria. Four well-deserved stars. On a scale of one to ten, an eight and a half. I'll briefly explain the reasons behind the things that convinced me to rate it positively. Tablecloths: finally, some places are sticking to the habit of having decent tablecloths and not American-style place settings or, even worse, paper tablecloths. Customer service. Bread and a few welcome appetizers. All pleasant, justifying the modest cover charge. Then the dishes were to my liking. Seafood cavatelli, spaghetti with eggplant and tuna and mashed potatoes, and a small sample of pasta all'assassina. Price was reasonable. I'd be curious to try the pizza: the boxes look large... Who knows. I think the photos I posted are indicative.

07/05/2026: The food was very good and beautifully presented. The portions were generous. If anyone is looking for something gluten-free, I highly recommend it. My daughter, who has celiac disease, had a really wide selection. The service was excellent. The view of the beautiful garden with orange trees made the stay even more enjoyable.

03/05/2026: We ordered two thin pizzas, but they arrived thick, raw inside, and rubbery. We told the waiter, who replied, "Sorry they came out like that..."!! We left them on the plate, but we charged them all in full, with a €3 cover charge per person for sitting out in the open with two placemats!! We're not even close!! There are much better places.

22/03/2026: Our second visit in Bari and to this restaurant in 18 months and the quality remains outstanding. We tried the octopus salad, the orecchiette con rapa, paccheri with seafood, and a rich zuppa di pesce with whole shrimp and mussels. Each dish full of authentic Puglian flavour. The Neapolitan-style pizzas have been super delicious, even in the gluten-free version. They are AIC-certified (The Italian Celiac Association), with nearly the entire menu available gluten-free as well, including a delicious pistachio cheesecake. A must-visit in Bari.

18/03/2026: We visited this restaurant last Saturday with some friends who had been there several times before. We were very pleased with the food, the courtesy, and the speed of the service. Good value, we'll definitely be back.

24/04/2026: Ai Portici is a very nice Italian restaurant. We were welcomed right away by the staff, who were extremely friendly and attentive. They even offered us some small snacks while we were choosing our orders, which was a thoughtful touch and made us feel comfortable from the start. The pizza was delicious — fresh, well-balanced, and perfectly baked. We also ordered a salad, which was equally good, with fresh ingredients and great flavor. One detail that really stood out was that we asked for the salad without onions, and they actually deducted the cost of the onions from the bill without us even requesting it. It’s rare to see that level of fairness and attention to detail. Overall, the service, food quality, and small gestures made this a great experience. I would definitely recommend this place and would happily come back again.

16/03/2026: We went for lunch on Sunday. The fish-based menu was delicious, from appetizer to dessert. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and Maria was very good at recommending the various courses. They recommended I return for the pizza... Remember to reserve a table, it's very popular.
