04/03/2026: The best restaurant in Alberobello, for sure! Frequented mostly by locals, here you can find the true essence of Puglia in the dishes and in the hospitality of the owners and their impeccable staff. Well-organized, everything is truly delicious. We hadn't eaten at a restaurant like this in years, and what we loved most was the sourcing of local ingredients and, above all, the way they were prepared! Our compliments, they really gave us another reason to return to this beautiful region!

Surrounded by greenery, you can sample local dishes in a welcoming atmosphere with delightful staff.

16/02/2026: Recently, almost every year I've been going to Putignano to see the parade. The rule was to book a hotel with dinner on Saturday and see the parade the next day.
But this year, due to lack of rooms, I've had to change my habits, and I'm happy about it, because in addition to finding a B&B that was much better than the hotel room, I found this restaurant/restaurant/pizzeria that satisfied me greatly.
It was destiny that we ate here. Saturday, not only was it the eve of Carnival, but it was also Valentine's Day. Driving past this place in a pouring rainstorm, it seemed like an oasis. As soon as we arrived at the shopping center, where we were headed to waste an hour indoors, since there was nothing else to do with the rain, I called to see if there was a table. Obviously, there was no way we could get there until late, but we were tired and hungry from waiting, so we made do.
The Sunday after the magnificent Putignano Carnival, I called again and found a table at "Peppino."
The place is nice, with a series of seating areas, a veranda overlooking the parking lot, and a large covered area (currently closed, but which I imagine always crowded with tables and pizzas in the summer), plus another indoor dining room. The atmosphere isn't particularly attractive, in the sense that there are no special effects; it's very much like a 1960s-1970s trattoria, ideal for families and snobs, I'd say.
The daily menu is an A4-sized, sealed plastic bag. It doesn't look particularly impressive, but it's comprehensive and offers interesting options, with prices I'd call very fair. The wine list is included, modest, but Apulian, and if the wine isn't good in this region, tell me where.
I wanted a good bottle of red to enjoy with the meat, but since all the tables on the veranda only had 1-liter carafes of red wine, I asked the waiter what it was. He told me it was a Primitivo, around 13% ABV, perhaps a little light (but not so much after drinking it). Obviously, we ordered that.
Having to travel back home, and there was already too much wine, I didn't try the first course, but the dishes I saw being passed around were quite tempting. After a useless appetizer chosen by my wife consisting of prosciutto and burrata (too cold from the fridge), finally the ribs, over 600 g each, so I emphasize for my tastes, next time we'll make sure to ask for a whole one of at least 1.5 kg to share at the table. In any case, it was excellent, obviously asked for rare but overdone, precisely because the thickness is far from that of a Florentine steak, but I repeat, the meat is really good and tasty. I had French fries as a side, something I don't particularly like, they brought me a mountain of them, they may have been frozen but fried in very clean oil and very crispy, so good that I finished them all, incredible as far as I'm concerned, that potatoes might as well not exist. My wife had a mixed salad and here too the portion was more than generous.
In the end, I couldn't get anything left: the coffee, the bill, and off I went.
I paid without any hidden surprises, things that always happen around here, a fair price, and I ate well with a view of the olive trees that stand everywhere around here. Next year, I'll come back here to eat for Carnival, maybe pizza for dinner and steaks for lunch, after the parade, or if we feel like coming another weekend before, same plan but without the parade, maybe we'll go to the safari park.
Fragno is a type of oak tree for those who don't know, and I didn't know it before.

The always-smiling staff lets you know that it's always crowded, which often compromises the tranquility.

28/12/2025: I tried this pizzeria and I have to say it was a pretty good experience. I wouldn't call it the best in the city, but the pizza is definitely quality: the dough is light and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. It's the kind of place you'll want to return to when you're craving a good, no-frills pizza. Fair prices and fast service. A sure thing, even if it's not a miracle.

05/03/2026: A REAL SHAME, THE PLACE IS IN DECLINE!!
After dinner, they made us get up in a hurry!!
On Saturday evening, after a long wait, we had a table already reserved since the morning. We had to insist and ask the short waitress at the cash register (who was rude) for an explanation, while the pizza chef looked at us rudely.
We ordered various appetizers recommended by the waiter (the only one with experience, apparently), then pizzas and meat.
The place was chaotic; the appetizers were sparse compared to usual.
The pizzas took a very long time to arrive (badly cooked, some raw), and the meat seemed more boiled than grilled!!!
Truly disappointed.
We pointed out to the same waiter, who very politely apologized, as if he were in the kitchen.
We also heard complaints from other tables and customers outside, who explained to us about the change of management!!!
A shame because the place is beautiful and the staff are all polite.
PS: In response to your response.
We were having dinner with friends who had booked under their last names, but that doesn't mean we can't evaluate the evening. If we then have to reveal who we are to face retaliation, it doesn't seem normal to us!!! Worry more about your work!!!
04/03/2026: It was a wonderful culinary experience. The place is very nice and the food is good. However, I have a negative comment: unfortunately, due to the inattention of the wait staff, a very precious personal item of mine was lost (certainly due to the dishonesty of someone present among the customers, so I don't hold the place responsible). It was a hat, nothing valuable, but an object I was attached to with sentimental value. I'm not making this point to denigrate the place or the service, as I believe the quality is good overall. However, I would like this review to be read constructively so that we can improve on this aspect and perhaps implement measures to prevent situations like this (e.g., providing specific coat hangers for each table or suggesting placing jackets, bags, or hats behind your chair so you can keep everything in sight and under control).

I asked for an ice cream with double cream and a pistachio and coffee flavor. They gave me pistachio and hazelnut flavor and no cream. I was very disappointed.
They also made us wait a long time before ordering.

13/01/2026: A lovely little restaurant in a nice neighbourhood. There is a very large choice of pizzas, so it became difficult to even make a decision about what to choose, but the pizza and desert was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. This is definitely worth a visit if in the area.
12/01/2026: A historic restaurant. The pizza is good, even if it doesn't have a more refined "gourmet" variety with top-quality ingredients. I think some of the pizzas could be a little different.
I emphasize the good service because a waiter—I don't remember his name now, but I know he's been working there for about 2 years—realized that they'd assigned a table for 4 and there were 6 of us, so he moved us as soon as a larger table became available.
I give the owner Donato a 0 because while we were drinking limoncello, he asked us to hurry up because he had to seat 14 people and therefore served our table!!!!
I won't go into further detail because the wait for the appetizers, if you will, was really long, and then we were kicked out. But no, I'm not.

22/03/2026: Our second visit in Bari and to this restaurant in 18 months and the quality remains outstanding. We tried the octopus salad, the orecchiette con rapa, paccheri with seafood, and a rich zuppa di pesce with whole shrimp and mussels.
Each dish full of authentic Puglian flavour. The Neapolitan-style pizzas have been super delicious, even in the gluten-free version.
They are AIC-certified (The Italian Celiac Association), with nearly the entire menu available gluten-free as well, including a delicious pistachio cheesecake. A must-visit in Bari.
18/03/2026: We visited this restaurant last Saturday with some friends who had been there several times before. We were very pleased with the food, the courtesy, and the speed of the service. Good value, we'll definitely be back.

18/12/2025: Definitely not recommended. I'll share my experience.
At dinner with friends, the waiter dropped the dirty plates and silverware, dropping them down my back and landing between my shoulders and the back of the chair where my jacket was resting. The poor guy, to whom I owe my deepest sympathy, is mortified and unable to find words to express his despair. He reports the incident to the owners, offers to pay for my laundry, and I undress and hand over my sweater and jacket for a laundering attempt, keeping only my (stained) shirt out of modesty and respect for the other diners. At the end of the evening, after I'd duly paid my bill, the owner returned my jacket (which, being waterproof, had been washed as best as possible, but still had small stains) and offered to take my sweater to the dry cleaners. I pointed out that I don't live in that town, and that it would be expensive and tiring to drive back to my hometown, 20 kilometers away, only to return a few days later to pick up the sweater. So I took the sweater back and asked to be reimbursed for the laundry costs only. With a disarming smile, she replied that, next time, they'd certainly reimburse me for the laundry costs, and that I'd return after I'd washed and cleaned everything.
There won't be a next time, obviously.
I certainly didn't expect them to deduct my fee after presenting me with a bill of €700 (there were 14 of us, so €50 each) and perhaps apologize for the involuntary accident; that would have been a nice gesture. We, being decent people, paid the requested €700, without any discounts.
But what makes the difference between professional and disrespectful behavior is that they didn't even dream of not only apologizing, but of simply refunding €17 (SEVENTEEN EUROS), that is, the cost of a luxury laundry for a jacket and a sweater!
In return, they charge, as mentioned, €50 for appetizers and a main course of seafood for four people (fresh), cavatelli with seafood and shrimp (frozen), a forkful of assassina, drinks, and dessert.
Never again.

20/03/2026: A relaxing evening in a welcoming, family atmosphere, with helpful, friendly, and attentive staff. Excellent, high-quality ingredients, and excellent appetizers and fish-based first courses.
16/03/2026: We went for lunch on Sunday. The fish-based menu was delicious, from appetizer to dessert. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and Maria was very good at recommending the various courses.
They recommended I return for the pizza... Remember to reserve a table, it's very popular.
