12/12/2025: I had dinner at this Osteria with my husband. The place is very cute, welcoming, and warm. From the outside, it looks smaller, but it's actually quite long. The staff is kind, smiling, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. But let's get to the point: the chef is truly talented! Traditional dishes are professionally prepared with the right technique, yet they take you back to the flavors of grandma's cooking. A gourmet touch that doesn't hurt, but actually enhances it. The bread basket deserves top marks for the quality and variety of options, and to finish on a sweet note, the chef is also skilled with the desserts: delicious and not too sweet, well-made, and beautifully presented. The price is fair. My only regret is that I didn't meet my colleague, but we'll be back: she'll be a go-to in Rome! Ad majora! Recommended #consapienza 😜

17/03/2026: The restaurant is listed on Just Eat (which, I must point out, is not to blame) and, a couple of nights ago, I ordered a pizza, since it was the only place open at that time. It was around 12:30 AM. Delivery requested as soon as possible and expected (by them, of course) at 1:10 AM. After a half-hour delay, still nothing. So I decided to call the restaurant and spoke first with a man but decided to hang up (not very polite because he was sleeping?) and then with a woman who called me back (same as above). I complained about the delay and a very unpleasant conversation ensued in which, due to the absolute lack of courtesy on both sides, I decided not to provide my address so they could verify the order. Which, as far as I was concerned, was tantamount to giving up. I didn't mince words, so imagine (!), since the conversation was getting heated, I asked which seedy area the two of them lived in. At this point, the woman insinuates that I've never placed an order, accuses me of being a nuisance at 2 a.m., and finally calls me crazy, thinking she's offending me. Crazy. The truth is, these "gentlemen" are completely unsuited to the job they do. They have no way of dealing with customers, and this is—and will always be—the main requirement for running a business. Unless this is their primary concern, and I'll stop there. End of story: at 2 a.m. I receive three consecutive calls, which I decide not to answer...it was too late and I'd lost my appetite. So I'll never know if the pizza actually arrived or if it was a call to let me know it was on its way (maybe around 3 a.m.). I'm not advised, with the utmost certainty that the pizza won't arrive. I sincerely hope Just Eat revokes the space they're granting these people. Lastly: regarding these troubled or failed deliveries, I've read interesting reviews not dissimilar to mine, with which I concur. I'm now waiting for a response from the owner. We're having fun. To be continued... Watch out. Following the expected response from the lady whose name I don't know, but whom I'll call Ella since mine is clearly visible, I'd first like to clarify that I haven't requested any reimbursement from Just Eat for that missed delivery. After speaking with Ella on March 16th, and after Ella barely let me speak, as if she had a script to recite and couldn't lose her composure, I called Just Eat back (had the line been dropped?) to clarify that: 1) we hadn't had any chance to speak cordially on this occasion either, as we had on the 14th; 2) given the late hour on the 14th, there was certainly a misunderstanding because I was simply tired of waiting and feeling a bit uneasy; 3) I didn't answer the phone calls that probably—I'm not sure—announced the arrival at 2:00 of my pizza, ordered an hour and a half earlier, and therefore 4) I didn't intend to request a refund, which I rightly (no need to bold it) wasn't interested in, other than I wasn't entitled to. You know, sometimes people prefer dignity to a few pennies. You can keep them. Calls made to Just Eat customer service are recorded, so I have no fear of being contradicted on the points listed. Please inquire if you wish. Furthermore, again without bolding, it seems to me that you are using threatening tones towards those, like me, who legitimately express their experience. This isn't a personal matter and it's not a fight. We're talking about work, a job poorly done. As I bid you farewell, I remind you that other reviews similar to mine have received similarly stern responses. Oh! I forgot, if Marconi is too far from you, you shouldn't offer delivery options there. That might be an idea. Or is Just Eat forcing you? Think about it. 16/01/2026: ⚠️ WARNING: ORDER NEVER ARRIVED ++ I'm replying to your reply I'm giving this review 5 stars only to give this review more visibility and warn as many people as possible. They won't deliver the food you ordered through the app, and you'll end up wasting time waiting for an order that will never arrive, leaving you hungry. About a week ago, we ordered food through Just Eat. Since my phone number is French, I was worried the courier might have trouble contacting me once it arrived, so I went out and waited in front of my accommodation starting 10 minutes before the scheduled delivery time. However, despite the wait, the courier never arrived, and suddenly the order was marked as "delivered" and closed. However, I hadn't received anything at all. The restaurant's behavior after the incident was truly disconcerting. They rejected my calls and blocked me on WhatsApp, making any further contact impossible and denying any form of assistance. I was very angry and wanted to write a review right away, but I preferred to take the time to reconstruct the facts and describe the situation objectively. That's why I'm writing only now. • Looking at the lowest-rated reviews, you can find many other users describing exactly the same experience as me. This is a serious problem and a management approach that appears systematic and profoundly unfair to customers. • I don't know how it went for others, but I managed to get a refund. If you find yourself in the same situation as me, I recommend you prepare all the evidence (screenshots like the ones I collected) and let Just Eat know that you're ready to file a complaint with the consumer protection authorities. Finally, I hope none of you have to ruin the end of a day of travel or work with an absurd experience like this. Also, you're lying right now: a McDonald's order was delivered to our apartment with no issues at the exact same address. Regarding the refund, Just Eat blamed the restaurant, while you blocked me and stopped responding to my attempts to contact me. Why would I have to wait over an hour and a half? In the end, I was forced to file a complaint directly with the Just Eat offices in Italy and the UK, and only after two complaints did I get a refund. Have a good day :)

15/02/2026: After a long time, we returned to this place and found it renovated, different from how we remembered it, and very, very well-kept. The staff was young and friendly, the place was spotless and welcoming. The fried food was spectacular, absolutely excellent. The pizza was superb; the potatoes and sausage were truly special! Now we'll try the more gourmet ones because they have some very unusual and interesting combinations. Congratulations to everyone!!

21/12/2025: I spent a Sunday in December there, which was open for lunch since I wasn't looking for restaurants. The food was like home cooking, tasty, and the portions were generous. Mysteriously, there was still room to sit down, even though people were coming and going all the time, but they were locals who were there to shop. The service was quick, the place was small, but I was able to sit down and eat in peace.

25/02/2026: When you're completely exhausted... you stumble upon this restaurant full of locals, not tourists. The food is delicious. If I had to find a fault, the lasagna portion is small for the price. But everything else is fantastic!

25/02/2026: I happened upon La Pilotta when I made my first trip to Rome in 2010. It was an experience to remember, not just for the fantastic food but for the charming and joyful experience overall. We returned in 2018 with our family for an amazing Easter meal. Our most recent visit was February 2026. We arrived toward the end of the lunch rush when the place had just a few customers and the owner, Mario, was working at a calculator in the middle of the dining room. We ended up in conversation with him before a delicious meal — pasta all'amatriciana for me and pasta alla carbonara for my husband (when in Rome...). Before leaving, I happened to notice that hanging on the wall was the Rome travel piece I'd written for our upstate New York daily newspaper, the Times Union, in 2010. How it found its way to La Pilotta I'll never know, but I was overcome with joy and had to pose with Mario. This is a great spot, just outside the Vatican walls, great food, including delicious homemade pastas, comfy vibe, good prices. Stop by, and tell Mario I said hello.

25/01/2026: We visited because they offer gluten- and lactose-free options, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. A wide selection of local and non-local cuisine (appetizers, first courses, second courses, desserts, etc.)... as well as pizza and calzones, always gluten- and lactose-free. They are very careful to report possible contamination and incompatibilities. The service is warm and friendly, without ever becoming intrusive! Pleasant and well-kept atmosphere. A place I would recommend without hesitation. I hope to return!

24/01/2026: A large restaurant in the city center, close to Villa Ada, Parioli, and Trieste, with a full menu, including gluten-free options, and a dedicated kitchen. The food is good and there are plenty of options. Being a large restaurant, it can be particularly noisy when full, making it difficult to chat at the table.
