13/04/2026: We celebrated our little Diana's baptism and everything was perfect! The restaurant was beautiful with a lake view, and the service and quality were excellent! Many restaurants lose their way when there are so many customers, but at Il Pozzo everything remains unchanged. All our guests were delighted. A special thanks to Alessandra, always available and kind.
07/04/2026: We discovered this restaurant through Facebook. We went for Easter lunch and were very pleased. We chose one meat menu and one fish menu. The two appetizers were good and varied; the artichoke lasagna was truly excellent. The seafood calamarata was a bit disappointing, though tasty, but lacking in fish. The main courses were good, especially the prawns and breaded lamb. The pastiera was excellent. The restaurant is spacious but a bit anonymous and could use a few more touches. Excellent service and friendly waiters.
We recommend this place if you're passing through Castel Gandolfo.

The restaurant is deliberately edgy and quirky in its decor.
The menu offers a wide selection.
We ate well, with generous and carefully prepared portions.
The price was reasonable for the location.
The free parking next to the restaurant is excellent.
01/02/2026: A place with a lot of formality, heavy and dusty furnishings. Very little substance...ordinary food, good wine.

10/04/2026: Good dishes, some tweaks for improvement.
I would have at least included a little cheese in the appetizer; there were only two slices of salami, one of prosciutto, and some pickled vegetables.
The first course was good, nothing to complain about.
The second course was a small sausage and two pieces of lamb, served with baked potatoes.
The only sore point was the millefeuille with cream and chocolate. Honestly, it's misleading from the menu, since the millefeuille consisted of crumbled millefeuille biscuits, not the actual millefeuille cake.
The flavors were good, but more transparency on the menu would have been helpful.
17/03/2026: The food is very good, the place is quiet, the people serving the tables are very sociable, perhaps the waiting times are a bit long.
